No- a handful of people trying to "prove it with their wallets" are not going to make any meaningful impact on sales or corporate decisions. But when people are vocal about their issues, they bring them to light for others who may not have noticed. Do you remember when Apple lowered the price of the first iPhone from $600 to $200 and people who had just paid $600 were pissed and complained? Apple made an unprecedented offer to give money back to customers who had purchased it at the higher price within a certain time frame. Had people just sucked it up and gone about their days, NOTHING would have been done. To advocate to fellow consumers that they should just shut up and buy or shut up and don't buy is just asking to be taken advantage of at every opportunity.
Nope... You're changing the subject now. We were talking about courage and courageous acts. You said in post #741: "...but I at least have the "courage" to complain when I feel I'm being taken advantage of." I'm saying that's not courageous at all.
Being courageous is taking a stand where there are potential adverse consequences involved. Making noise on MacRumors is not courageous - there's no risk to you personally for complaining. Dozens do that here everyday.
Standing up and refusing to be taken advantage of by not accepting the $20 price increase for the plus model you initially wanted to purchase and instead taking a chance with a phone from another manufacturer is courageous. There is risk and potential adverse consequences to you personally for that decision - i.e. ending up with a phone that you end up not liking.
