Aside from the obvious gripes, which are all over the internet and on this forum, I was seriously hoping that Apple would at least throw in a lighting to USB-C adapter for all of its customers that just dropped $800 on a new iPhone. Apple royally messed up by using lightening in lieu of a USB-C replacement with the iPhone 7 and doesnt seem to have a clear grasp of what its doing with its ports. Seems Apple has lost its way with its customers and deadlines to stay competitive now clearly outweigh good design.

Nope. They use surfaces computer etc.
And how much will the arm be better with the touch bar ? With a full touch screen you can pinch to zoom, write on it with a pencil and so on. Try this with the touch bar...
You clearly don't understand (or don't want to understand) the "Gorilla Arm" syndrome. It is caused by reaching out toward a display that is a couple of FEET in front of you (like a desktop monitor) for extended periods of time. The Tool Bar on the new MacBook Pros is on the same PLANE as the keyboard, and so does not require the "Reach out" sort of action with your arm suspended in the air.

4GB GPU not enough for me (and people thinking I should be enough with 4GB, sorry but no, I've a Pascal Titan X in my Unix desktop and its 12GB are even a bit limited for my projects). I'll skip this MBP until they support at least an 8GB VRAM GPU, which is a bare minimum for my visual simulations datasets. I'll keep my old MBA (not suitable for graphics either) until they add a really powerful GPU.

Biggest let down I've seen from my beloved Apple. Really makes Microsoft look very attractive right now, even with Windows.
Windows isn't too bad anymore. I've been Mac only for the past 6+ years, but just decided to build a custom i5-6600K gaming PC and that thing flies compared to what I remember from Windows.

Total farce the pricing of these new macbook pros !

Everyone should boycott these models and send apple a message on gross profiteering.
why? the 13" model is smaller and lighter than the AIR - has a retina display and is only about $200 more - i think its fantastic.

I'm calling it now. Touch Bar seems to be the least great feature ever on a Macbook.

You have a big, retina display and a 2x larger trackpad but now just use this tiny screen on the top of the keyboard.

Who uses a trackpad or mouse, ugh.

If you don't use a trackpad or a mouse, wtf do you use?

Placement looks awkward. Surely it have been better placed at the bottom, either just above or just below the trackpad (or even built in). There is a reason the rarely used function keys were where they were.

Dead on arrival IMO.

Anyone else surprised that they kept the audio port? They could've scratched off another mm or so without it.

Does anyone know if the sad is soldered onto the motherboard? It looked like it is from the presentation. Another bad sign if it is.

I wonder if/when someone will come out with a docking station with other ports (SD card, USB 3.0, ethernet, etc.). Also wonder when/if everything else will be updated. I wouldn't mind a laptop for field work & then transfer to an iMac or something at home. If/when Apple updates the Mac mini & iMac, I wonder if they'll finally drop HDDs and go to SSDs only?

Those ports still support USB and and HMDI in addition to Thunderbolt but you will need to buy adapters.
Maybe I don't want to buy adapters! Maybe I don't want to carry around a jumble of connecter cables and ports on a device that's SUPPOSED to have portability in mind!

I know all about how amazing Thunderbolt 3 is, but until there's at least one dedicated Thunderbolt 3 port on at least 25% of electronics today, replacing almost EVERY input with Thunderbolt 3 is a step backward.

You might be waiting indefinitely, i can't see Apple suddenly adding a bump in the near future, otherwise why didn't they just add it now?

I think I'd rather get the Surface Studio for this kind of money.

I know somebody who has one and they really like it. They demoed it for me and it was impressive. My problem with switching to Windows is that I have hundreds of Pages files with imbedded graphics that don't translate well into Word. I'm also impressed with the HP Spectre, but at this point when my battery goes I think I'll replace it and just keep using my old Air.

They should have just released a killer app for the iphone or ipad that allows you to perform all of the functions (and more) that the OLED bar will be able to do and offer higher specs for the crazy prices.

Specs aren't a massive improvement over the last couple years on that entry level model.
And what do you think about the 15" models? Big improvement in this unveil over the last gen (2015) model?
