I'm not sure what apple is selling: mb or empty page.

There are more people willing to make a transition to windows...workstation.
Been hitting the Buy button, but I keep getting Page Not Found error.
I don't think they would have update the 13" to 8 GB standard (something they should have done 3 years ago) if that were the case. I think if they do anything, Skylake might be the last processor, but I think they died at Broadwell.Because it doesn't use the not-yet-released 15-W TDP Skylake chips with the Iris 540 (6260U, 6360U, 6560U, 6650U, and 6660U)? Note that some 15-W TDP Skylake chips are out, but only those with the lower-performing HD 520. But since the still current MBAs use the higher-grade GPU (HD 6000 vs HD5500) available with 15-W TDP Broadwell chips, it's not unreasonable that Apple would wait for Iris 540 chips if they were to update the MBA.
No TB-3? No USB 3.1? No 2nd port? No 14" model?
At least I don't need to feel like I failed being an early adopter. Can still love my 2015 model without feeling like I am missing out!
Also - 13" MBA's got 8GB RAM standard as their update...so they did get updated!Wonder if the 13" will get an early 2016 model designation because of that? Ha!
have you try that? i have for almost 10 min, at paris show.... its very load and hot under mediocre work (3-4 tabs opened, and they had cad app installed but with medium projects ), the top end is a fingerprint magnet, the usb-c ports has a little wobble thing when you connect a cable..and this in 10 min...please test it before buy it. i am sure will. and i mention it is loud UNDER mediocre workflow?Next to the slimmer HP Spectre that comes with proper Core i CPUs, 2x Thunderbolt 3 and USB-C Port this Macbook looks a little under-engineered.
Although I was never in market for the Macbook it makes me worried about the future of Apple products. At some point I have to reevaluate what OS X is worth to me.
A 13" Macbook-Pro "Mid2012" reaches allmost identical score (against the 2015 top MacBook) so it would be just 3 years behind in speed while sporting no moving parts, Retina longer batterylife and smaller footprint.
The 11" MBA doesn't make sense anymore because the iPad Pros can do just as much for a fraction of the cost.
It's a chipset issue. Adding proper 4K support would require the Alpine Ridge chipset, which would take up space and cut into battery life. Likely this is coming next year when Thunderbolt 3 and updated DisplayPort specs are built into the CPU.I was so looking forward to this update as I was sure, they will finally add proper 4K support.
What a disappointment. I just don't get it, what's the point of a small notebook like that without being able to hook it up to a proper external display when at the office?
4K@30Hz is not viable for work and with all the other hardware Apple pushed their customers to high resolution retina screen with the newest product requiring to take a step back to 2560x1440 non-retina. Heck, there are already people out there who don't even have non-4K screens because switching between retina and non-retina screens is quite harsh on the eyes.
Wireless world for content delivery fine. For content creation, not so much. It's kinda funny to see all those complainers here. They don't seem to realize that there's a huge difference in what purpose every model serves. MacBook Pro is for those who need the extra power, MacBook is most suitable for those who need ultra portability. You simply cannot expect Apple to give that ultra thin and light notebook that much extra power. It's just not made for it.
People need to calm the hell down and understand that difference. It's just like how we've got the smartphone and tablet. We use the iPhone for quick and most of our daily tasks, whereas the iPad can be used for more productive work (sending mails, working on documents etc.).
Speaking of the ports discussion: I think the MacBook is Apple's way to show us the future of notebook computing. We're gonna be in a completely wireless world in a few years, and they just want to prepare us for that. It's a good thing, honestly. Better now than in a few years. And the MacBook comes with the right technologies to actually make it work: AirPlay, AirPrint, AirDrop, Continuity, 802.11a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.0 and whatnot.
I do understand though, that the 12-inch MacBook has a completely different - and in my opinion more beautiful - design. And since there's no other, more powerful notebook from Apple with more ports as well that looks like it, we're kinda stuck. So I do get it in that way. But I think the vast majority doesn't think about it this way, or do they?
By the way, that rose gold looks AMAAAAAAZING.![]()
If you know this... Then why are you so surprised? You act like you literally can't plug anything in to this device.......
They have been doing this... For forever.
So true, for me that is. I'm (still) waiting for an refresh model with 15 inch screen.
TO be honest...i might even jump to that as well if they will neglect mac pro users. Nothing wrong with power pc but i need updated techs.Indeed.
.... and for me there is not much loss there, since Adobe's Cloud packages can easily be switched towards Windows with the same payed account. I truly hope that Apple will come up with a killer update for the MacPro. I saved up some cash for the end of this year, if there is no update then.... then I'll switch. But again, I hope not since I'm quite happy with OSX as an operating system.
I notice that the shipping dates are starting out at April 25-29th and pickup options aren't yet available. I wonder how much stock the stores will have tomorrow.Got mine ordered, 512gb 1.3ghz m7 in gold been waiting and hoping for a silent upgrade..
It's funny how 1299$ can become 1449€...
You should look at some tests with more benchmarks in a row.
For a short amount of time the Core M goes up to over 2 GHz, but after a few minutes it's under 1 GHz to keep the thermals down.
Probably the Apple Store app as I just did. Site still down also for me from browser. From where? The site doesn't seem to be updated yet.
this is stupid... Finally macbook got skylake update, and yet does not support TB3? Total marketing failure! You really need to make TB your standard across all models especially when other PC manufacturers are also adopting TB3 this year.
