Wow, you’re braver than me. Don’t think I’d risk updating my wife’s firmwareTry resetting them according to Apple's instructions and see if that triggers the firmware update - it did for my wife.

Actually it’s there in 15.0.1 but well hidden.Guessing you're on iOS 15.1 beta 2 then. As it's not for us on 15.0.1
It wasn’t in there for me. a couple days ago, I followed a guide that was posted by MR, had to go into settings first, into accessibility and do some things in there, before it would appear in that menu.Actually it’s there in 15.0.1 but well hidden.
Open control center and an ear icon is added.
Tap it and scroll to the bottom for a conversation boost on/off toggle. There’s no slider so you have to tap the “off” to toggle.

Was worth iOS 15.1, it’s Spatialse Audio, which is basically fake Spatial Audio. When did spatial audio become available iPhone-wide? I just noticed that my AirPods Max now have a spatial audio option not just in Apple Music but also Spotify and pretty much everything else I’ve tried. Not sure how I missed this rolling out but it’s pretty great!
Listened a bit more last night. It's pretty cool on some tracks, weird on others. I like it for video but probably won't use so much for music. Was worth iOS 15.1, it’s Spatialse Audio, which is basically fake Spatial Audio.
YesCurious to know if this enables the AirTag like features and FindMy features on the AirPods Pro..?
It's basically the same as when Stereo came in and you would get mono tracks forced into stereo. History repeats.Listened a bit more last night. It's pretty cool on some tracks, weird on others. I like it for video but probably won't use so much for music.
True. It could be very cool to have more things being mixed natively into this format in the future though. Is "spatial audio" some kind of open standard, or is it something Apple-specific they'll keep their clutches on so tight it hinders wider adoption? It's basically the same as when Stereo came in and you would get mono tracks forced into stereo. Which wasnt the case with airpods first gen … or when pros were released first few months(Not so) patiently waiting for the firmware to update... Really like spatial audio, but I haven't gotten over the sorry fact I have $250 headphones that I can't use to make a phone call from a city street because the party on the other end of the call can't hear anything but ambient noises when I'm talking.

That’s when you use FaceTime and voice isolation. Then it is almost back to normal. Doesn’t help though when you are just making a normal call. That first APP firmware update was an unmitigated disaster. Agreed that audio performance never quite returned to the level of the .0 release, though I've been using my APPs around town again since upgrading to iOS15 and the 13PM, and I haven't been getting the complaints that my voice is being overpowered by ambient street noise.

It just worked before, i don’t understand what compromise had to be made to kill that perfectly working feature
must be linked to some of the things that were introduced later ie spatial audio etc
i used to talk hours on airpods walking around.. it is so annoying but I agree ios15 is somewhat of a relief but still not perfect as before
i remember well when I got airpods day 1 and was blown away I could make clear phone calls on the go
Me tooI’m having an audio sync issue for my AirPods Pro and AirPods Max With my Apple TV 4K (6th Gen) running TVOS15.
I assume this firmware update to 4A400 is what’s causing the issue.
I might try the TVOS 15.1 Beta if available. But I don’t hold hope.
I also found someone else on Reddit with the same issue
Yes I’m on the 15.1 beta, but conversation boost worked on 15. To access conversation boost, click on the “ear” icon in the control center (if it’s not there add it in settings). Under “Headphone Accommodations”, make sure this is turned on for phone, media and transparency—the latter being most important.I’m on iPadOS 15.1 beta and can’t see it either. Maybe it is iOS 15.1 beta you’re on dfwiddoc?

Please see my latest post with further instructions—hope that helps. As I have posted, this doesn’t bring it. I am running 15.0.1 and have the firmware update. It’s not there.
If you’d caught up with the thread, you might have seen my later post below. Your instruction only work after doing the Accessibility settings as per the guide on MR front page. Please see my latest post with further instructions—hope that helps.

You want it to be as Apple expects it when not using them. I would use them for a while (no idea how long that is just so Apple sees that they are being used and active) then stow them in the case making sure that both pods are connected to the case and charging (look at the charging widget on iPhone to confirm) then I would leave the pods next to the iPhone for a good bluetooth connection and wait a good while.......(these instructions are just my own experience and in no way are these official instructions just hopeful thoughts......good luck!so to update AirPods Pro am I supposed to close the lid while is charging the AirPods or keep it open..and does the iPhone itself need to be on standby mode or need to have the home screen itself active? The firmware is not updating and both my iPhone and the AirPods Pro is plugged in to a power source...TIA!
Thanks haha and updating the AirPods Pro was..tedious to say the least for sure..I gave up trying and just left it plugged in to a power source and it was finally updated. You want it to be as Apple expects it when not using them. I’d have never figured it out by myself, thanks.Yes I’m on the 15.1 beta, but conversation boost worked on 15. Then go to the volume slider, do a hard press, and change the AirPods Pro to “transparency” mode. Go back to the “ear” icon, and a longer menu will open up, and conversation boost should be at the bottom.
Sorry about that, hope this helps!
The missing steps are to do the bits in settings -> Accessibility, to enable it in the ear icon, which I got from the MR article I linked above, as for me (and others) there wasn’t the option in the ear icon.I’d have never figured it out by myself, thanks.
