It updated. Since people were talking about not leaving the case open, I decided to try it and finally the new firmware for both the Powerbeats Pro and the case went through.

1. Plug in the case with the Powerbeats Pro inside
2. Open the case and connect to your device (iPhone, etc.)
3. Close the case
4. Wait a bit
5. Open the case and the Powerbeats Pro should reconnect to your device
6. Check the firmware revision and it should be updated

Hope this helps others!

My 2nd Gen AirPods updated. (I opened them and got a "Find My AirPods 2" notification went off. (Updated firmware shows on iPad, but not iPhone...odd)

My Air Pods Pro has yet to update.

My APP are in a my pocket all day unless I'm using them and my phone is in another pocket about 2 inches away. All day every day. They never update that way either.

I think you have to connect them, then close the case. It's like a recent connect lets the iPhone know they are near and once closed, still can connect to them. But if you just leave them in your pocket, without a recent (within minutes) connection, it won't work.

Figured out how to get this to work on iOS 15.0.1. You need to turn on Headphone Accommodations in Accessibility > Audio/Visual and have Transparency Mode toggled on, then Conversation Boost is towards the bottom of the menu and also appears under hearing in Control Center.

I connected the IPP to my iPad. Opened the case while touching the screen to get the popup display. Closed the case the iPods in the case. Set it next to the iPad and went to sleep. In the morning I got 4A400.

Is it just me or does the sound seem better for others? I listened to a talk show this morning and the voices sounded more distinct, separate. I listened to some music and it sounded clearer as well.

My Powerbeats Pros have updated to 4A394 (and the case from 1.6 to 1.6.5)
Not clear on what has changed just yet ?
I just updated my Powerbeats Pro too. It went from:

Model: A2048
Firmware: 3A283
Hardware: 1.0.0

To:
Model: A2048
Firmware: 4A394
Hardware: 1.0.0

I see the Firmware updated but I'm not seeing any case update from my end if the case version refers to the Hardware version. What am I missing?

After opening and closing (rinse and repeat), it finally updated. The "Connect AirPods," white animation showed up again.

Goofy process, just takes patience I guess.

I played music for a few minutes, then opened the case, ate some peanut butter (only works with creamy), closed the case, patted my schnauzer (does not work with labradoodles or other silly hybrids), plugged in the case, unplugged my refrigerator, waited 10 seconds, and plugged it back in. Voila, UPDATED.

Correlation is not causation.

Do miniature schnauzers work?

Tap the firmware version and it will toggle Between version and case
Thanks! I got Case version 1.6.5. Is that the latest one available for all?

Also, what does the Hardware: 1.0.0 version mean when you go to Settings/General/About/Powerbeats Pro on your iPhone?

As for Case FW, that seems like the latest - mine is 1.3.5 and I still have the updated FW and FindMy integration.

The Hardware Version just signifies exactly that - Apple and companies generally often slightly tweak the way they make things (or if things are manufactured by multiple suppliers etc) and this is sometimes reflected in different Hardware Version numbers. Nothing to worry about.

I've noticed that some music has the spacial sound (outside of Apple music). I listen to smooth jazz at times and today when I have turned my head the sound follows left and right. Center stage sounds a bit more expansive as well.

Oh I see! Why do you think yours didn't get the Case updated to 1.6.5 and instead only got to 1.3.5?

Is there a way to see what has improved for the better with these updates on my iPhone? I don't know exactly what you mean by FW here

Odd, mine finally updated (after 24 hours), and the Case firmware is 1.3.5. Got the APP update, though, with Find My and conversation boost enabled.

Very weird! How do you check on Find My and conversation boost being enabled though and use them later?

To clarify i was referring to my powerbeats pro case firmware going from 1.6.0 to 1.6.5 , not APP‘s (these will Likely have different firmware numbering )
