My AirPods Pro have updated to 2D15 however my AirPod Case version is showing 0.62. Does that update later on? How do I force the case upgrade.
just upgraded from 2b588. No change in ANC or anything. Someone has tried if the mics works better and the voice is clearer from the other side of the call?

PS1: no changes in phone settings are available
PS2: the airpods case has upgraded also, from 0.72 to 0.73
I have just noticed that my Air Pod Pro case has now updated to V0.73. Does anyone here know what this change means or has introduced? Or am I being naïve?

What are you guys doing to see the individual firmware version of the charging case?

Not sure if placebo but ANC does seem to be better.
Just got updated at lunch... before lunch rattling (been waiting for APPL stores to open to bring them in)...

After lunch with 2D15... still rattling...

Well bittersweet glad others are having this issue... don't know what's up with that, but it's annoying as H

The rattling (sounds like a speaker is blown) is a hardware issue, not software.

Contact Apple Support through the Apple Store app and tell them you are having the issue. They will overnight replacement AirPod(s). Will put a hold on your credit card for the replacement bud(s) but that falls off once you send yours back. Entire process took a week for me and my two replacement buds don't have any rattling issues.

Have had my ipods pro connected to my iphone for hours while plugged into charger and no updates for either the case or the ipods pro. Anything else to try to make the update happen?

This firmware update is fantastic to me. I used to have a lot of static/noise when biking in a windy weather with ANC on. It is gone - clear ANC improvement for me here.

Mine updated this morning. I share my home office with the wife as working from home every other day. Was using them for zoom, phone calls, and listening to radio all morning and I have to say I think the noise cancelling is significantly better. I couldn't hear my wife on the phone, or her typing, moving around, etc whereas previously I could hear those things especially when on calls or zoom (as it is mostly people speaking, no music).

Again, completely subjective opinion that should have no more or less weight than anyone else's subjective opinion, but I think there is an improvement.

I got my AirPods Pro new in early April (backordered from March), and they came with the old 2b588 firmware. When I read this article the other day, they were still on that firmware, and the ANC worked fantastic. I went outside in an urban environment and it was remarkably quiet in my ears. They've since upgraded to 2D15 despite not having been plugged into lightning (mac usb or power). The noise cancellation seems as good as it had been so far in the house and listening to music, but I haven't been outside or taken a phone call yet. One thing I continue to have is confusion between the Watch, the iPhone, and the AirPods (connected to the phone) as to who's going to respond to "Hey Siri".

Yes. There’s probably some dust or sand in the mic. I had it confirmed and mine swapped on the last day before Apple Stores shut down here.

Mine had a similar issue, it was more like a crackling noise that happened as I walked. Did it all online, and they just sent me a new airpod for the bad side and I shipped the bad one back to them. Took less than 2 days to get it too.

After the AirPods Pro have updated, you should unpair them and pair the again;

I got new items in the menu on ANC and haptic-button behaviour, and the context menu (when longpressing on the volumeslider in controlcenter) has different options.

Same as before for me.

so do I. So hopefully this will solve. Know it’s a long shot but hey one can hope

Edit:

Mine just got the update. Enabled ANC, talking alone as that is the trigger usually for the rattling sounds, so far nothing.

Still early to tell as it is intermittent, but we'll see

EDIT 2: Problem still there. Move along, nothing to see here.
If you try the fit-test, do they fit? And I f you cough with AirPods in, anc on do they rattle? If so, search for AirPods Pro sucking and be amazed/horrified. It did wonders for me, they are much, much better again.

I had a FaceTime chat with a friend at lunchtime today and he told me new firmware was out. I planned to update this afternoon. As soon as we hung up our phone call, I turned on my iPad Pro and started Netflix. I tried to switch audio from iPhone 11 to iPad Pro… and it happened super fast. I was happily surprised. I later went to drag in the garbage cans, something that I do every week. I had immediately noticed with the 2C54 how the ANC was less effective against the rumbling of the cans as I dragged them across pavement compared to when I first bought the AirPods Pro. I was happy to note today that ANC seemed much more effective again against the deep rumbling noise. When I got back in house I checked and saw that my firmware had already updated to 2D15 and that helped explain the better ANC and the faster switching. So, two good experiences so far.

I later decided to do ear fit test and was surprised to be told that I had poor fit with the regular size. No matter how I tried to adjust them in my ear, I kept getting reports of a bad fit. So then I decided to swap tips for Large. Couldn't get a good test. Swapped tips for small. Still couldn't get them to give a good fit. All of the tips would be comfortable enough for me to be happy with, but I switched back to normal size. Still have a report of a bad fit, but I am pleased so far with the feel in my ears and the sound that I hear.
I think you need to suck your airpods. :D That is not an impolite way to say you are no good, but to be taken quite literally. I had the same and it worked really nice.

i have sucked on mine like never before, but nope, problem remains. And yes they rattle when I cough.

I do notice better and more reliable connection and a better batter information on my APP; it used to be messy; sometimes giving me 80% one second and then the out of juice sound would play a few seconds after playing some music; it would show me just one of them, stuff like that.... since the update that seems to have stopped... so far at least.

Updated. Can anyone get the ear fit test to actually work now? Can no longer get a fit where I could before.

Right ear fit test hasn’t worked for me since the previous update. Even with the largest ear tip.

I wondered that too. I had replaced my first set purchased in October because the 2C54 revision made my ANC so much more noticeably worse (and if they replaced them that easily, it makes me assume they know it was degraded). The first set of replacements just auto-updated to 2D15 a couple days ago, and I immediately noticed because my daughter needs white noise to sleep, so the house sounds like we're in an airplane. I am no sound engineer, but I had the chance to just compare them side by side, and it's EXTREMELY obvious the airpods on 2B588 I just got in the mail (again) make the white noise deep sounds go away whereas the 2C54 and 2D15 do not. Really disappointing and I think I'll be switching to the upcoming Bose or the Sony competitors when I have to start getting on airplanes again. Come on, Apple...
