All the benchmarks and analysis seems to point to HD5200 being on par or slightly worse than 650M on gaming but noticeably better in OpenCL.
So, is it an upgrade or downgrade?
When would the improvement in OpenCL shine?

Mini next please mr cook.
Ps pcie ssd please
Pps skip the crappy intel gfx and slap something meaty in there please
I expect that all the Macs will be updated to PCIe based SSDs when they're updated. As for the graphics, if it's the Iris Pro, it's not crappy.Mini next please mr cook.

Basing this on the 780M that has been around, the 780MX is a few percent faster than the 680MX.How does the 750M GPU compare to last year's 680MX? Also how the top 780M compare to the 680MX?
I remember when the original MacBook Air came out in 2008 with a 64GB SSD option for $1000. Those were the days...
I didn't say they were moving away just out of principle, but because it makes sense for most products (we agree on this).
still no Retina Display so still won't be getting one :-(
Only a few percent faster. Also probably use a tad less electricity. If you're also getting a Fusion Drive or SSD, that also adds in to the improvement. And if you are doing any heavy graphics, those changes will help. Will a Haswell really make any difference in the iMAc?
Why? Unless you're running your iMac flat out getting a new iMac will probably not help much.Dang now I want to sell my 9 month old iMac and get the new one! Totally did not see this coming but with the upcoming announcements on the iPad line they can't crowd it like they did last year.
Already done. I just really needed a computer 2 weeks ago! It's for my secretary's desk. Performance and latest tech. isn't necessary here.
Their timing is always problematic. We just upgraded our college labs to the "new" iMacs in August. Mainly, we needed better graphics chips (from our original 128 mb iMacs). I wish Apple had a summer upgrade cycle so that we could get the newer machines for the start of the semester. The iMacs we purchased have 512 mb. Now 1 gb seems to be standard, along with 8 gb of RAM. By the time we can afford to upgrade the labs again, we'll probably once again end up behind the curve....
Edit: Whoa! Finally a 1 tb SSD option -- for an additional $1000.
Seriously. No i7, no bueno.
Nope.Does it has thouderbolt 2 ports ?
Return it and get a new model?Yeah... So I just bought a 27 inch yesterday and now this? Bad timing I guess.
It was also an option last year. The 27-inch high-end has an i7 upgrade for $200, same as it ever does. Unless this is some kind of regional restriction.
This is surprising. I would have thought the other systems were on hold until Mavericks. This may be more of a statement about Mavericks readiness than anything.
Macs are no longer announced at keynotes, how has the world changed.
