Seems a bit cluttered and confused which is not like Apple.

Also non-Apple products on the front page like gifts for fathers day? That is very unlike Apple in my experience. They are usually tucked away somewhere.

That's because nothing new has been introduced to the market for the longest period in Apple history and they're forced to peddle other vendors following a more Amazon approach.

Yet another example of Apple's continuing effort at dumbing down everything.
You must conform and use things only how Apple tells you.

You want to 'think different' ? Sure you can, as long as it is exactly how Apple tells you how.

Doesn't fit your workflow or skill level? Sorry no options for that anymore but they put in a bunch of cool icons .

Want that feature or option that you have relied on for years on your system? Nope that is obsolete now and they will never bring it back.

You want to chose which way to use a product? Now you have no choice because according to Apple, you are not smart enough to make your own decisions.

Want to customize the setup your way? Nope Apple knows better how YOU should be working.

Usually when I'm unhappy with how a company operates I stop buying their products. Do you still have that option?

Yes, but to paraphrase Steve Jobs -- The Apple you know is the Apple Apple gives you because the consumer doesn't know what it wants or likes until its pushed on them.

Over the years the Apple logo has been updated, the Apple corporate name modified, the tag lines, the product design cues, even the level of customer service is different now than some other point in Apple history. (if people think it's high now, it was in the stratosphere in the 80s to mid-90s.) Point is, their is no real constant Apple experience other than every product should be able to be operated out of the box intuitively. Everything else is a target for change eventually.

I like the new design. Except often times when I want to go a specific product section in the store I end up hitting the product page of the Apple site instead by mistake. Maybe they should lose the gray product bar up top when you're in the store and instead replace it with links to those specific product pages in the store.

Yes I can appreciate that but they have been moving in the opposite direction of late. They removed all the non-Apple products from the tables in their retails stores and now all they have is the box on the side wall at the back. Also I can't remember seeing third party products so prominent on their online store before. Seems like a complete 180. Are they going to start selling toy remote controlled Porsche's now? Very curious

Hmm...I've seen 3rd party stuff featured on their store for quite a while now. Seems like with everything else Apple these days someone's always b*tching and complaining that things are different than they were under Steve. Even when in most cases it's not true.

maybe it's just due to my work computer but the "Shop the Education Store" and "Shop the Business Store" buttons are not working for me

btw, they are located in the Ipad for Education/Business tabs

$150bn in the bank and they can't think of anything new to build? :(

They could at least throw us a bone with some new software products while we wait.

Nice, but within a category, those top-bars should scroll with the wheel/gestures. Or better yet, not NEED to scroll at all.

Apple really needs to look at Dell.com to see an efficient shopping experience. I am not serious.

I don't believe your facts are quite right :p

Apple has sold 3rd-party stuff for many years, and Apple's history of both small AND earthshaking releases has always been longer than people think. (And currently, WWDC is around the corner.)

The only difference is, when Jobs was alive they blamed him for the R&D periods in between releases (while competitors got a free pass). Whereas now, they blame it on Jobs' absence. In reality, innovation + quality (as opposed to just dumping out random stuff to see what sticks, or copying an existing success) simply takes time no matter who's in charge. Apple does it faster than anyone, but as they've said, they're as proud of what they decided not to release as what they've actually sold. Good philosophy.

Yes and it's seems like some people can't take any criticism. I didn't say they haven't carried third-party products before. I said I haven't seen them so prominent on the home page of their online store before. Big difference. Maybe read the whole OP next time.

OH MY GOD. APPLE IS ADVERTISING SOMETHING FOR MY IPHONE/IPAD ON THEIR STORE PAGE?! APPLE IS DOOMED!

Get over yourselves. You act like Apple has never advertised their multitude of accessories before. Heck, that's the only reason I go into an Apple store most of the time, to you know, get a case or something fort my iThings.

I think it's important for them to advertise the hardware that can be used with iOS devices. It makes them more appealing.

Seriously. If you don't like where Apple is heading you can leave. There's no chain wrapped around your ankle MadDawg2020...

I have. But with the site redesign which has more photos and less text there's more area to feature ecosystem stuff.

Yep that's it. Apple is completely out of ideas. They're just paying employees to sit at their desks and surf the net all day.

Ha so true. I always find it funny when people say things like apple has stopped innovating. Like Tim cook held a meeting and said "well guys...we had a good run"

How could anyone really believe that apple does not have products in the pipeline or that they have no ideas left?

Under the Shop Mac section they have Talk to Specialist and the link is broken.

Another half baked buggy roll out. Maybe they should get the Geniuses to fix it or Integrate their store with Yahoo and Flickr or Vimeo and let them do all the work.

Seems like the latest strategy these days. Oh, make it flat. Jony said so.
