It seems that a million people can create a group with the same name. Am I right with this? We can each create a group called "MacRumors" and get away with it?
Anyone can use any name (I think)... but the email addresses must be unique.

I have the same problem. My iDisk still at 125MB.

Go to the .mac page and log in. Click on your account name in the upper right and click 'storage settings'. Change the email/idisk ratio and save it. That's what got it to show up for me (it showed up while my idisk was mounted!). You can then change the ratio back if you want.

Since the addresses are xxx.groups.mac.com I think there can only be one of each name.

Edit: Maybe I am wrong though, since you have to log into your account in order to reach a group.

Can anyone shed any light on this issue?

And 55 minutes later it will be 11 a.m. there ... long live Paris. :)
 I thought Apple Expo was opening at 10AM, or am I wrong? Maybe the .mac update is all there is. So what were those boxes someone saw?

Does anyone know whether the maximum attachment size is still 10MB?
That's what it is still saying on the webmail attachment screen. I'm too lazy to try sending via SMTP.

K, I guess I was wrong. You can change the name of the group to whatever so that is not unique. The email addresses, as jsw pointed out, ARE unique.

FINALLY a decent update. However, I don't see the 1GB space anywhere. Does it take time or something?

Fishes,
narco.

Maybe I'm stupid or something, but where in the hell is the web address for your unique group? I can't find anything that would enable someone to browse my group site?

Anyone know where I find the URL that goes to my group?

No idea, I am still trying to figure that out.
Look under your account settings.

Mine is showing:
torage
Email Storage: 100 MB
iDisk Storage: 150 MB
Total Storage: 1024 MB
Data Transfer (bandwidth)/month: 10 GB

can change percentage of mail vs idisk under Storage Settings which then auto updates things...

e.g.
Email Storage: 200 MB
iDisk Storage: 824 MB
Total Storage: 1024 MB
Data Transfer (bandwidth)/month: 10 GB

blogs?

An Apple branded blogging tool would have been a nice addition to .Mac. That could have also inspired a great community. I'm sure they could have done a beautiful job, linking to your photos etc. Imagine.

Woah!

Apple just entirley changed the .Mac home page. It's no longer full HTML, but has flash. Am I seeing things? I love change, I love change! :p

 That was more than an hour ago. What I want to know is if there'll be any more announcements? Maybe until tomorrow?
