Apple Vision Pro Repairs Cost Up to $2,400 Without AppleCare+

The Vision Pro features an aluminum frame that houses a single piece of laminated glass for the front of the device, and as we've learned from the iPhone, glass is quite breakable. If the Vision Pro's glass cracks or the device is damaged in some other way, you could be facing an expensive repair without AppleCare+.

On Apple's Vision Pro service page, repair fees are listed. It will cost $799 to fix cracked cover glass, but if you need any other component repaired, the cost shoots up to $2,399. That's just $1,100 less than the full cost of the Vision Pro to begin with.

AppleCare+ is priced at $499 for two years of coverage, or customers can choose to pay $24.99 per month for AppleCare+, with the coverage lasting until payments are canceled, so it's not cheap.

Vision Pro AppleCare+ includes unlimited repairs for accidental damage, Apple-certified service and support, Express Replacement Service, and 24/7 priority access to "Apple experts." It is worth noting that there is a $299 deductible for any AppleCare+ repair to the device itself (including a cracked display), and a $29 service fee for any accessories such as the Light Seal that are in need of repair.

Given the price of the Vision Pro headset, AppleCare+ might be worth purchasing. As repairs are expensive, it will be worth finding some kind of protective case to use at a minimum to keep it safe if you plan to bring it from one location to another. Apple sells a case for $200, but there should soon be multiple third-party options available.

ill just add it to my Statefarm personal articles policy 0 deductible. Will run about $50 a year and covers loss, theft, damage etc.

That does seem pretty outrageous to have just two charge bands, rising by $1,600 for anything at all beyond a cracked screen. "Oh dear, yes sir, it is a cracked screen, but you also seem to have lost the magic polishing cloth. $2,399 please..."

percentage wise its pretty much on par with other Apple Devices, but yep its not cheap. Worth getting though IMHO. I am waiting to make sure I actually like the thing.

That price for service pretty much says Apple isn't planning to repair the devices. If you break it, they're selling a new one to you without the battery or without extending the warranty.

Specially if you have kids or pets that like to knock things off tables or shelves. Waiting for the YouTube Videos showing that happening.

If I were a technician and some 3yr old AVP came in for repair looking all gross and nappy, you couldn't pay me to touch it for $2400.

That's why Apple does not really support right to repair. Literally all Apple products are extremely hostile to right to repair.

I beleive Apple will have a smaller version in about a year to a year and a half and you should be able to trade in the old Apple vision Pro, however, you may only get $1000 for your trade-in! The new smaller version may use the M3 chip also! After that will be another smaller version, and the M4! We know how Apple works, it shouldn't be a mystery to anyone on this site! Nothing stands still in the world of technology! And yes Apple will figure out how to recycle each iteration, Apple actually reduces costs by using recycling!

Really it’s waiting for its iPad 2 / iPhone 4 moment.

AVP just needs to find its “story”. With the watch it took Apple a second generation to realize “ok it’s mostly for fitness — it’s not about being a gold Rolex competitor or sending digital heartbeats to acquaintances and strangers.
