Apple Vision Pro Repairs Cost Up to $2,400 Without AppleCare+

2 yrs of AC+ at $499 is 14.26% of $3,499 Vision Pro price
3 yrs of AC+ is $169 for a $3,599 Mac Studio. That's only 4.70% of the price of the Mac Studio
We can compare the price of AC+ coverage for portable device (Vision Pro) vs another portable device (MacBook Pro) if you'd like.
3 yrs of AC+ is $399 for a $3,499 MacBook Pro. While that's only 11.40% of the price of the MacBook Pro, you're getting 3 yrs vs 2 yrs with the Vision Pro.
Then you just ask the consumer to remove the light seal and cushion (also known as the actual parts that are touching your face) and you can just deal with the actual aluminum and glass headset.
Also, even if you were a technician right now, it’s not like phones and tablets are overwhelmingly that much more sanitary.
this device is a must for the loneliness epidemic. It's a small cost for realistic VR Corn. Also imagine how much you are saving by not wining and dining women just to get some action.

Wrap it in as big a ball of bubble wrap as your house will hold when you get done using. That will save a lot of grief . Lol

I'm not even sure why you'd think a desktop would be a comparable device. People don't typically carry their Mac Studio around.
AC+ to iPad Pro 11 is 16.1%.
AC+ to iPad Pro 12.9 is 13.5%.
AC+ to iPad Air is 13.1%
AC+ to iPhone 15 PM is 16.5%
It's fair to say the VP's AC+ cost to retail is in the ballpark.

Apple Inc. follows a fiscal year that ends in September of each year, which is then followed by an annual report that typically is issued at the end of October. So that's why this edition of Warranty Week -- the first newsletter of November 2021, as well as the first of the month in past years -- is always about Apple's hot-off-the-presses product warranty and service contract metrics. And this year they tell a story about how a company can successfully turn the expenses of warranties into a profitable aftermarket service.
Plainly stated, Apple's product warranty expenses continue to decline, while AppleCare protection plan sales have resumed their growth. By the end of this most recent fiscal year, AppleCare was bringing in three times as much money as product warranties were taking away.
I guess you missed the part where I compared it against the MacBook Pro... you know, a portable device like the Vision Pro.

iPad Pro 11-inch is $2,099. 2 yrs of AC+ is $129. That's 6.15% of the product's price.

Plus the $299 deductible. So the total cost to repair $499 + $299. Overall, not gonna be cheap to repair even with AppleCare.

They weren’t talking about AppleCare, they were talking about the cost of repairs.
Except, everything is a profit center for Apple. Then, when the diehards see someone complaining about it, they get told to go to Android or Windows...
That commenter is...well, I should have ignored them long ago. Mistake's been corrected now.
1,000%! If someone is serious about buying this device, and has the money to blow...they should definitely throw down $300 for a Quest or whatever it's called. Spend a month with it. Bet you'll find you don't need to spend 4k on something that you'll find you won't use as much as you'd think.
Somehow, we don't complain about car insurance policies as much, do we?
