My gut says we won't see any big design changes until the 3rd generation and I might hold off until then. Very exciting none the less.

What can the AW realistically get? I didn't buy the version one as it doesn't have any features that I actually need/want but I'm curious about version 2 as that might be one I might consider. The problem is that I don't know what the AW need to have in order for me to need/want it. I don't wear any watch and I don't see anything that is really "needed". I do like the notification to be on your wrist etc. but not enough to justify the purchase.
I'm sure I'm not alone and to be honest I would like to have a desire for it but right now its not there.

What could it be? Anyone?

In fairness I think it should do less, or at least there be a version of the Apple Watch that just does fitness/sleep monitoring and time with a simple led display and months of battery life. I was dubious about the touchscreen when it was announced, and the battery life put me off purchasing. I personally don't think that here needs to be a newer version of the current Apple Watch yet, until I here is a more substantial improvement possible, but I do think there should be a derivative "sport watch"

1. Battery 2 days!
2. Touch needs to be more responsive
3. FIX WORKOUT NATIVE APP (Link to NIKE +...etc so it can work without )
4. HEART RATE needs to be accurate
5. Accuracy of running and walking on the watch needs to be improved
6. Ability to calibrate a run after completion. Like force touch at completion and enter correct mileage and that also helps the calibration.
7. Everything needs to be more zippy
8. Thinner profile

GPS
Body temp sensor
Blood glucose sensor
Remove the black accent on the knob on the SS model

Feature I want for all my portable devices: Over-the-air charging.

Over the air charging and a body temperature sensor? To tell you just how hot your wrist got when it inevitably burned you?

In all seriousness though they couldn't co-exist and be accurate

I like number 6, haven't seen that suggested before but it's such a good idea!

It's been an option on iPod Nanos for the last two generations… supposedly, anyway, but I've never been able to figure out how to make it work.

Thanks, I actually saw a similar function to edit on the Nike app. I just figured a force touch on the watch to fix the mileage would make the most sense since it is usually super off.....every time.

That is why annoys me. They refuse to let you edit it. It is fine if it works correctly....but it doesn't.

I'm sure that AW will soon come with GPS feature. In fact, it is a must have feature that any smart watch should have.

I feel like we will get a significant design change that works with current bands. I'm using the iPhone 1 to 3G and iPad 1 to iPad 2 as examples. They were both pretty big design changes. I remember Steve Jobs mentioning the "all new design" when he intro'd the second iPad.

My hunch is the Apple Watch was a big beta version to get the silicone and software working as well as establishing the brand and app stores.

You got some good points. I'd like to see the watch develop into a form of identification to either unlock or engage with other devices: unlocking your Mac when you approach it, Apple TV senses your home and turns on the lights or turns on your favorite show/ 'radio' station. :D Exciting times.

You know that rose gold SS pin on the sport straps that come with the rose gold AWS? I want a SS AW made in that color.

Rendering the rose gold edition pointless as to the naked eye they'd be identical?

People were doubtful about the gold and rose gold sports for that reason, although in real life clearly they're nowhere near the same

They are far from similar. The rose gold SS is much darker and more metallic.

The rose gold SS pin is darker and more metallic than the rose gold edition.

Are you sure? Apples promotional pictures peg them as identical. I can understand it being darker, but how can it be "more metallic" than polished gold?

Have I compared the two side by side? No. Have I compared the pin to the promotional photos of the edition? Yes. Maybe I'm wrong! I don't think I am but it's happened before. :)

The photos on Apple's Watch gallery page show almost identical pins on the sports band. One is SS with the sport. But the editions is actually gold.

- Deployant clasp for 42mm on leather
- 3-6-9 subdial option for the chronograph face
- roman numerals dial
- motor racing-themed features
- more character options (although Mickey is lively as ever!)

- thicker (why would a man want a thinner watch ???)
- longer battery life
- always on watch
- works stand alone means it has a kind of SIM card
- better watch faces
