I have a silly little fantasy where an Apple watch can do all the voice communications I needed from an iPhone leaving me to either carry around an iPad mini in a man-bag or nothing else at all.
It'd be cool, until I want to do something in a place where I shouldn't disturb people nearby.

I'm hoping for either a matte black sport or a brushed stainless steel(silver or black). I really like the muted look of the sport and hope they make it black instead of gray.

Right... Topic with wishlist I good in the same editable faces that are on the Android wear ... But it's only a software implementation... More speed And reactivity And Smart band

Biggest wish is for Apple to let the watch work with ipads!! It's one of the few usage cases that make sense. I have a cellular iPad that could get email and send notices to the watch.

this is already technically achievable with "personal hotspot" - they'd just need to find some way of handshaking and enabling it without ruining ipad battery life...

Trade-in program, specially for SS or gold, for model released within last 3-4 years.
I would think they could make a lot of $$ if they marketing it as 30-50% off for equavelent watch body only trade in, SS for SS, gold for gold, and watch body only model specific for trade-in customer, same as they used for replacement. Of course have to be qualified functional watch without severe cosmetic damage, and model released within past 3-4 years.
They will get a lot of people welling to trade in AW at 3-4 years, since that will be about right time need new battery if wear daily, and instead of getting battery replace, just get a new model watch body but only have to pay something like 50-70%.
I like this, I would think about getting one of the more expense models if this was an option.

Looking at Watch - looks like a first gen product - large bezel. Maybe 3G and less iPhone dependence, 3 days battery would be awesome. My fitbit HR has 2 years warranty - plenty of time to wait for Apple to get it right.

I like the size and style. I only wish for more responsiveness. Siri takes too long, and action on the phone takes a second or two longer than it should. i try not to show off the phone because it's always extra slow when you try to show someone something...lol. But the notifications are awesome.

My wish is for the watch to automatically light up when either a message or email is received. That way if you are in a meeting or something similar you wouldn't have to raise your arm to check it, but just a slight downward glance would do it.

Opposite view - nobody would want this in a cinema.

Perhaps sensitivity adjustments when a notification comes in might help you

Wouldn't like it if my watch started flashing/turning on all the time if I was in a meeting or something. A gentle vibration is good enough.

I don't see why it couldn't be an option to have it auto light up. Actually I don't wear my watch on the top of my wrist like it's designed to be worn. I have, all my life, 60+ years, worn my watch on the inside of my wrist and of course this way it doesn't work to twist your wrist to turn it on, so when I get a message or email I have to use my other hand to turn on the watch to see it. That's really why I would like to have an option to have it auto turn on.

3 things are needed to rescue this product from the abyss.

1) all day always on display
2) battery life which allows it to run with always on display for a week
3) make it thinner as it's chunky right now

Here is my list:

Much, much faster S2 chip
Waterproof
Much louder speaker
Hydration sensor
New bands that suit the sport model (not just sport bands)
Cheaper leather bands
Slightly stronger haptic engine
Less Bezel

- I'm honestly not too fussed about battery life. Mine has been great!

Let me get this straight - you want it to stay on 24/7 for a week without charging yet you want it to be thinner? Yeah, good luck with that.

You mean the technology isn't here yet and Apple shouldn't have released a defective product?
The technology isn't there yet for Apple with their higher end display and hardware. Vast majority of reviews say the watch does not need to be thinner as it is the thickness of the vast majority of watches from Seiko, Tissot and thinner than many Rolex and other smart watches. More of a user preference though. Definitely not to thick for me it is thinner than all my other watches.

I would love an always on display but just the time in case the raise the wrist doesn't work. Always on is the old way of thinking of watches as that was mechanical watches. You look at your watch less than an hour out of 24 hours so who cares if the display goes off. Most people take their watch off each night so it sits there charging. I would think 2 days would be good in case you do an all day workout so you can get 10-14 hours of constant HR monitoring.

Seems like a lot of people are still comparing a smart watch to a mechanical watch. Smart watches might outsell mechanical watches in 5-10 years. Always on display seems silly but I think an always on showing the time would appease the minority. Weeks charge doesn't seem necessary with new charging technologies. You take the watch off and it starts charging with very little effort.

Last time I checked, there are no perpetual motion machines. Every battery runs down. My watch lasts all day and that is as much as I ask of it.

It's a bit of a joke though, yes? I mean, a watch with a battery that runs down each day and companies have the gall to charge big bucks for such design flaws.

Watches from the beginning have been always on. Any company trying to peddle a watch without an always on display is conning the gullible punters. The bottom line is that the iWatch will be a technological basket case until it fixes the three simple flaws I point out above.

iPhones don't have LiFi. If tech blogs are to be believed it's a revolution in wireless communication between devices.

Should Apple just stop creating stuff until it's finalised and the tech is released?

It's not an iWatch but more to the point, traditional watches don't have light up screens. You get some with luminosity, sure, but on the whole, no.

You don't want an always on display in a cinema, for example.

My wristwatch also didn't give me notifications or provide directions. I'm ok with the compromise, as I think 99.5% of Apple Watch owners are.

Depends on usage, I can get two days out of mine. I think your thinking to much for a smart watch, well a decent smart watch anyway. You're saying the AW should last longer or always be on, do you complain when your mobile phone does the same, then compare it to your landline phone which is always on and has been since the dawn on phones?

if your going to criticize something at least call name the modal correctly never heard of an iWatch before....
