It doesn't matter what Apple does, I satisfied my curiosity when I bought the original, gave it a very fair evaluation, and then returned it. This is not a product for everyone, or even a large number of people. Too much like a gimmick or annoyance based on the plethora of notifications, alerts, alarms, even when one minimizes them as I did.
Turning them all off defeats one of the watches "advantages" yet for my style of proactively managing my schedule it simply makes no sense to have _ONE_ more device to charge, to maintain, to clean.. on and on it goes. I'll pass on AW.
My ideal device is a smartphone.
I have no problem expending the back breaking effort and time it takes to retrieve it from my pocket.
