My two wants are integrated GPS and much faster operation. Give me these two Apple and I'll hand over another $600.
It's good enough for the pool. Just can't work the screen very well with a wet finger.2. Waterproof. I'd like to be able to swim with it.
I want the next generation of AW to be better as a watch, not a poor imitation of a phone.
For me, the number 1 thing I'd like to see is the ability for the watch to display the time all the time. As someone who used to wear a normal watch previously, I find having to flip my wrist whenever I want to see the time annoying and an AW should be able to perform as well as a normal watch in this regard.
After that - it needs GPS and waterproofing to make it a serious exercise watch, and apps need to load much quicker.
Right about Garmin and Fitbit (and Suunto and Polar and others) -- they've got their own hardware to sell.I can't see Fitbit or Garmin producing Apps for the watch so Apple has some work to do to make the Watch a proper fitness device.
I wear my watch every night as my silent alarm and sleep tracking with sleep pulse. I charge my watch from 9-10pm as the only time I charge per day. I go to bed with a 100% charged watch and wake up with 91% because of sleep pulse or 95% without it. I finish the day with 40-50% at 9pm and it takes about an hour to charge.
I sometimes charge in the morning when I shower so at night I am at 50-60% by 9pm.
I just want it to read directions from maps. If I'm using it for GPS, I'm not wanting to risk reading the tiny screen.
Not legal to use cellphone in our city. Would be nice to use the speaker for directions from the watch.
I was a very happy Apple Watch owner for 3 days before I took it back. I just couldn't justify the high price tag for what the watch could do. For $400 I knew I could get a much nicer non-smart watch from a respectable brand. However, to this day, every time I see someone with an Apple Watch, I miss it. So if Apple can make the next model better, I will be 1st in line to get it.
There are plenty of things I would love to see but my top 3 would be:
1. Please, Please, Please, offer a round model! I understand some people like the square look but it would be nice if Apple let us choose. I'm sure the interface would translate to a round screen perfectly. Even as an Apple fan I must admit that I am jealous of the Samsung Gear S2.
2. This probably goes without saying, but the battery life has to improve immensely. It would be nice if we could go at least 3 days without charge under normal use. This way, the Apple Watch could be used to track sleeping cycles.
3. Either move the Sport model down market or create a new cheaper entry level model. $400 for the sport 42mm is just way too expensive for something that is supposed to be an entry level model. $250-$300 would be a lot more reasonable and I'm sure Apple would get a lot more sales. Apple could lower the entry price by creating a new Apple Watch trim that uses good quality but cheaper materials.
I want the Apple Watch bands currently out to work with the new watch. Some people have sunk 1k or more and we should be allowed to continue using these!
I'd also like to see smart bands. Like a sport band with a gps chip and small battery to power the chip.
Definitely waterproof. I have a feeling just from all that I've read that it is coming. If not gen 2 then at least somewhere in the near future.I'm very happy with the Apple Watch as it is, but here's what I'd love to see:
Realistic expectations: 1. A-fib alert. This wouldn't require constant heart rate monitoring - every ten minutes is fine - but would alert if out of sinus rhythm.
2. Waterproof. I'd like to be able to swim with it.
3. New remote app for TV4
Pipe dream: Non-invasive glucose monitoring.
