I will get either Gold SS or Natural Ti. I currently have S5 in Gold SS.

My S5 Gold is getting tanned and has a tint of brown now. Hoping S7 Gold be more vibrant. I think it would help with Fengshui, too.:D

One time, an apple store rep told me once you go SS, you are likely to stick to SS…that might be coming true for me…(he had a silver SS with some apparent surface scratches.)

If Hermes comes up with Gold SS model, I would seriously consider it. I would like to show off the watch face to those who can pick it! Gold is warm and soothes my mind…
I want titanium or ceramic with Hermes. If they did that it would be an easy choice

I've only ever had the stainless steel models (currently on a series 4), and curious to try out titanium this time.
I have the same watch and was thinking the same thing. The only thing holding me back on the Titanium model is that my Apple Link bracelet won't match the finish on the Ti watch. I'll have to take a look in the store once the Series 7 models arrive, but we will see. If the link bracelet and Ti watch combo looks weird, I'll just get another silver stainless steel.

Yeah . . . and actually the link bracelet doesn't actually match as it's brushed while the SS is shiny, but they look good together. I wanted to like the natural Ti and ended up getting the silver aluminum. It seems I'm always going back to SS. It seems mechanical watch people don't seem to have this urge to change up their colors or materials, I wonder why we AW people want to change it up for the next AW??

That's funny as I have the link bracelet and was thinking that given the titanium has a brushed look it would match the brushed link bracelet well. I imagine there must be pics of that combination if I search.

I’m ok with brushed vs. shiney. It’s the color differences that are the issues for me. The SS is almost like chrome, whereas the Ti is a bit greyer. It may look fine, I’ll just have to see it in person.

Please go to this post and put in your colors in the poll so we can have an easy way to see what colors everyone is getting.

Coming from a S5 Al the advertised 20% faster S6 CPU inside the S7 will probably do the job for everything an Apple Watch can do.. I guess..

It’s just such an expensive device for what it is. The 400-500 bucks price tag for the Al is okay for me. But 700-800$£€ for just a different housing material and the sapphire crystal is a lot of money. I find it hard to justify paying 800€ instead of 500 for the same device. I mean the additional 300€ for Ti and sapphire vs Al and IonX is just ridiculous. And lots of tests showed that the Apple Watch sapphire isn’t as high-quality and scratch resistant as the sapphire glass on e.g. mechanical watches from Tissot, Seiko, etc.

To answer your question it is less my use case that I want a faster CPU for but rather that I want best value for my money if investing 300€ more in a device that can do the same for 500€ or even less when going for a S6 with descent discount.

My current S5 Al is my first Apple Watch. Because of the IonX glass and the scratches in it I really wanted the sapphire glas with my next Apple Watch. And that would totally be worth the extra 200-300€ for me if Apple would use a proper sapphire glas mixture resisting as much as the sapphire glas used by nearly all watch manufacturers. But with their softer and probably cheaper sapphire crystal I just can’t justify spending so much money in a watch with nearly no improvements over the last generation…

Another point is that I would love to get the space black SS with dlc they offered with S5 if I would go for a SS S7 but as we all know they discontinued the space black for whatever reason except you go for the Hermes edition…
SS almost twice the cost and can almost just replace sooner if gets beat up or new face replacement with AC.

Wow, I figured sapphire was sapphire. There are degrees of sapphire display quality, and Apple has chosen to use low quality sapphir? How bad, how low quality?

I really like the look of the Midnight Aluminium, but I am nervous about scratching the ION-X display. There are no screen protectors out either yet.

What do you guys think?

I was thinking, if I get the Aluminum model I was going to get Apple Care + which covers accidental damage, including scratches on the screen (confirmed with Apple Support). $69 service fee though.

If not, pay $200+ extra for a Stainless Steel model.

My Al S4 with no screen protector and worn all day and night long, is in pristine condition, no scratches. Granted, I am not doing heavy workout but my son does and he has S5 Nike (so also Al) without screen protector and daily use. Also in pristine condition.

Is the aluminum body in pristine condition as well?
Yes for mine since I can check it at this very moment. My son is at school now so I will have to wait until he comes home but his is the space grey so I think it would not show minor scratches. I will let you know.

I think it just depends on how hard you are on your stuff. My wife and I both have aluminum S4 models (edit: I got mine before she got hers), and mine is still like new while hers has lots of little chips and scratches. She also goes through about three screen protectors a year from drops, while I put one on my phone when I get it and it stays on, scratch-free, until I sell it.

same as you. its as if apple wants you to just get the AL since they have not changed the SS or Ti for more than a year now. At least add a new shade or something.

But I've only had 6 generations of sapphire so this is my first time with an ion X glass. It says stronger shatter resistance but nothing about scratch.

Is there anywhere showing what the combinations actually are for the series 7? I haven’t seen them yet.
Less than 24 hours before pre orders and Apple has not updated AW7 page with tech specs. Obviously, Apple doesn’t want anyone comparing 6 vs 7 that way.

Can’t remember from last year, but I think specs and prices were up soon after the announcement event, correct?

Torn between silver and graphite SS. Have the gold SS 5 but don’t like the new gold color. Also not a huge fan of black watches. Does graphite look black most of the time?

Not 100% sure. Seems like Apple has every new product page updated fully after event or for sure by now if release was few weeks after event. My guess for tomorrow is the 6 gets taken off and only the 7 is displayed and sold.

Does anyone know if the Titanium Apple Watch 7 comes with the color matched sport band in addition to whatever other band you choose when ordering? I don't see any mention of this on Apple's website. I really like the color of the light grey sport band that came with the natural titanium models in the past.

I have the Titanium S6 and it's damn near a perfect match with the link bracelet. Here's a few snaps.

Did anyone else here order the watch with a 44mm strap (ie one from this years summer collection?)

I don't have a watch yet but have been waiting for the new ones. The lack of a black/grey aluminum one has really put me off of getting one. I don't want to spend extra just to get a color I prefer and I really don't like the darker two colors. Really dumb to not have a space grey or black version when the phones and iPads do and are still theoretically producing series 6 watches with it.
I would seriously recommend the extra spend. I always have gotten the SS model as it, and the sapphire display are simply unscratchable. I work in a machine shop and have NEVER taken mine off. Meanwhile my wife always bought the aluminum and every year they are scratched to crap by the time we want to get new ones. Mine sell every year for $500+ on FB, so I spend about $200-$250 per year for the upgraded device. Last year my wife finally sprung for the SS...she now agrees, never going back.
