Just noticed that when you message someone direct from the watch, if you go to the emoticons, you can scroll with the crown and get different animated faces/hearts/hand gestures. Probably obvious, but I didn't know this!

On the native weather app you can tap the screen and it moves between; weather icons, temperature and % chance of rain, by the hour. Then of course if you swipe up you get the 10 day forecast too.

Yeah I was cupping it to cover the screen and was like "hey this cheeze doesn't work" but then found if one lays the palm of the hand directly on the screen and touches the whole screen, that does the trick.

This also works for apps - it makes the screen go dark and effectively returns you to the clock screen, so if you have the watch set to show the last app used on wrist raise, you'll get the clock instead of the app you used last. I'm not sure if it closes out the app (i.e. a force close) or not. Either way I've gotten in the habit of doing it when I'm done with something.

It does work, and I have added it to the post. It's actually actually a good way to ignore a call while not letting the person who is calling know you ignored the call.

Also what I meant was when actually making a call and speaking with someone-covering the watch face during call mutes it-they can't hear you, as well as mentioned-muting an incoming call.

How to make thread a wiki:

How do I start a Wiki?

Start a new thread and simply check of "Is Wiki" checkbox in the options. Alternatively, if you've already started a thread, you can edit it and check off the "Is Wiki" box after the fact.

So when you're on a call you just put your hand over the watch, and you're muted, then take it off and you're unmuted? Wow, that's great!

I love this thread!

For those of you having trouble testing the flashing LED when pinging your iPhone, it appears the iPhone must be locked for this to work.

Here are a bunch of smaller things I've noticed (some may have been obvious to others!):

General
- You can side from the left side of the screen to the right to go back to the previous menu, just like iOS.

Camera Remote app
- If flash is enabled, and you use the 3 second timer button on your watch, your phone will take a single picture.
- If flash is not enabled, your phone will take a burst of 10-11 photos.
(I'm using an iPhone 6 Plus, so I assume only phones that support burst mode do this (5S+). Can anyone speak to the behavior when using this with a 5 or 5C?)
- You cannot start a video recording with your watch, however you can end a recording that was first started on the phone.

Weather app
- Tapping the info dial will cycle the displayed data between weather conditions, temperature, and rain percentage. Force Touching the display also gives these options.

Passbook app
- When viewing a QR code for a pass, everything else on the screen will fade out and the watch display will brighten to make it as easy as possible for scanners to read the code.

Siri
- Siri on the Watch will sometimes ask to Handoff a task to Siri on the iPhone.
- You can't web search directly on the Watch, but you CAN ask for an image search. For example, "Show me pictures of corgi puppies" shows 10 results from Bing.

Stopwatch app
- You can Force Touch anywhere in the app to choose from 4 different styles.
- Swiping up from the bottom of the display while in the Analog style changes the view to one similar to the Hybrid style. Tapping anywhere returns to original view.

Now Playing Glance
- Similar to iOS, tapping the song name in the Now Playing glance will bring you to the app that's playing it, if there is one on your Watch (Music app, Pandora, etc).

Messages
- Also like iOS, swiping message bubbles to the left reveals the times they were sent/received.

I can't seem to find any instance where this works.. can you explain it again or can anyone confirm this?

The shape of the sun's arc is an accurate representation of how high the sun will go the sky depending when and where you are on the planet (Reference)

I am not sure I follow. Please explain a little better. Doesn't it just represent the length of the day? The higher the arch above the horizon the longer the day?

I noticed this works when I am in the settings, and click on something. It will go back to the previous screen when I swipe from left to right. I am not sure if it works in other locations yet.

I know it also works in the Mail, Messages, Phone, Stocks, World Clock, and Music apps and probably more.

I think the higher the arch, the higher the sun's position is on that day. Doesn't necessarily mean longer length of sunlight

I love this thread!

Thanks so much for those, I'm going to add these in to the first post.

Also, since this is a wiki, anyone is free to edit the first post to add their own tips in.

Just takes one picture for both instances on my iPhone 5.

No problem! I originally attempted to edit the first post, but I realized I have insufficient posts.

Thank you. I think I was dangerously close to damaging my watch trying to get this to work... then suddenly it did work. I didn't notice the difference with the phone locked.

Well, since I am not able to edit the main post yet. I'll just throw some more minor/small finds as a comment here.

General
- You can toggle the location services used for Apple Watch faces on your iPhone (Settings > Privacy > Location Services > Apple Watch Faces)
- Apple Watch health data (heart rate, active calories, walking+running distance, steps) is saved to the Health app on your iPhone.

Maps
- You can tap on icons for places to see further details such as open hours, phone numbers, driving/walking estimates, number of stars on yelp, etc.
- Pressing and holding (not Force Touching) will drop a custom pin

Music
- Tapping the name of the currently playing song will show the album art

Timer
- When setting a timer, Force Touch the display to select between 0-12 hour or 0-24 hour times.

Watch Faces
- You can delete a watch face in the face selection screen by swiping the face up and tapping Delete

I heard this from Jason Snell at sixcolors.com:

In the Now Playing glance, you can change the volume by spinning the Digital Crown.

Yep! This seems to work anywhere there is a "slider" control. You can use the crown to change the volume in the full Music app too. The hitch seems to be if the screen is scrollable, you have to tap the element you want to edit before the crown will assume control of that vs control of scrolling the screen. This is the case when changing the brightness or haptics levels in the Settings app, for example.

I get burst on the 3 sec button as well. iPhone 6.

When you receive a heartbeat notification from someone, you can place two fingers on the screen to send your heartbeat back without entering the digital touch UI screen.
