Whenever I have an unusual battery drain, a cold boot fixes it. I always check the Apple Watch app to look at usage and it is usually high when the battery drain is fast. A run-away app is usually the cause. If you cold boot and it comes back, try uninstalling the most recent third party apps.

I've been using beta 5 since it came out and the battery life has been equal to 1.0.1 so I assume you have a bad app or just need a cold boot.

I fixed my battery issues quite a bit by disabling the active weather complication. That was the major drain that made my watch nearly dead within four hours. It's still going down faster than normal (about 6-7% an hour with barely any use) but it lasts me the day. I can't figure out what's causing it other than the beta

didn't look or notice a HR reading more often - what is it set for now - I thought it was still 9-10 minutes?

Yes, it's still that. I went from 1.0.1 to beta 5 though... I'm glad they brought back the reading every 10 minutes. Wish they'd do even more granular readings.

This brings up a whole other point that relates more to the health app than WatchOS... HR reporting is terrible

Yes, I have covered 10 miles outdoors with Watch and iPhone on two occasions and it made no difference.

I run 5 miles on the treadmill and Watch claims 7.3 miles. Multiple different treadmills too.
Do you have calibration turned on in location settings on your iPhone?

I use the app Sleep Pulse to take all that health app numbers for heart rate and graph them. My guess is we will see several new apps with os2 taking advantage of the heart rate and their apps.

My battery drain was related to sending the diagnostics and usage to Apple. Once I turned off that, my watch battery improved substantially.

But looking at the diagnostics I see a lot of crashes on the Apple Watch OS2. Hopefully Apple fixes these issues when the GM comes out!

On random days I just start seeing a quicker batter drain. I wear my watch to bed and usually wake to 92% from 100% in 7 hours but today it was in the 60's. I cold booted and it has been at 100% for 90 minutes.

If I see fast dropping of 6-7% per hour even with no real usage, I look at the usage on the Apple Watch app on the phone. It is usually going up faster than normal which tells me something is running that shouldn't be or it crashed and something is out of control. A cold boot always seems to fix.

I am currently on Beta 5 and I notice that there is a long delay when ending a workout after doing a force press before it allows me to end and also then save the workout. Is anyone else experiencing this? if not should I try un-pairing then re-pairing the watch?

It has happened to me but it isn't consistent. Sometimes I force touch and it comes right up with end/pause and other times it take a few seconds. Other times I press end and I can't tell if it took it and it sits there.

However, it seems to happen less and less the longer I use beta 5. I wouldn't re-pair.

Same. Yesterday I had to end my run a couple of times before it registered.

I seem to have come across a bug in WatchOS 2 beta 5...

If an email comes in, I hit the crown button then slide the notification down I see a duplicate notification of the same email message. If I view the message without hitting the crown I see one notification of the message.

Anyone else notice this?

ok so it is not just me. I was hoping for another beta this week before it goes to GM but it is not looking likely

How is Hey Siri working in the beta? It's not working for me on the production version of the software. If I push the crown and ask Siri something that works fine but Hey Siri just spins and does nothing.

Works great on Beta 5 with a simple wrist raise... if the screen comes on, she will respond. There is a setting in settings under general, siri on the watch in case that is off on your phone? Otherwise, all I can say is that it worked fine for me on 1.0.1 but it works much better on OS2.

I turned 'sending the diagnostics and usage to Apple' off and it fixed the battery drain in b5 for me.

Sorry iTorph, where did you find this option?

EDIT
Ok, founded! You mean the iPhone settings of privacy!

I have it on and my battery life has stayed the same as 1.0.1, maybe even slightly better, as it's almost always around 50% when I get home. It used to be around 30-40, only rarely 50, range in 1.0.1

I just picked up an Apple Watch three days ago, and loaded watchOS 2. My battery drain is insane. I'm losing on average 1% every 3-4 minutes. I've removed all 3rd party apps, turned off wrist raise, only have a few notifications on, still bad. Any suggestions?!?
