Is there any way to get 2.0 early? I'll be traveling without data starting tomorrow.. :-(

  • When connected to Wi-Fi, the Settings glance now shows Connected along with cloud icon even if iPhone is not connected to Wi-Fi.

Is anyone else having an issue with this not occurring? It's possible that my watch isn't connecting to my home wifi, but before I have been able to get iMessages with my phone turned off. Any direct way of checking to see if you watch is connected to the wifi?

Everything is fine on my iphone however the checklists can not be marked on Apple Watch. I see the checklist items on Apple Watch. I select each item to mark it as done. Then an approval or decline page comes. But when I click to OK (left green button) button to make the item done, it makes the item done on Iphone, but the checklist item list stays same on Apple watch. For ex. there is 4 grocery items in one checklist. When I select any of them to make it done, it doesn't update checklist on apple Watch. Do you experienced this problem?

Are there any Apps that are actually native on the watch ?

I have had OS2 since beta 3, but I can't notice any difference in speed when opening apps. This is the one thing that I was desperate for. The delay in apps opening is really annoying.

Will it require the app to be updated before it can be native ?

I was expecting the stock apps to be native on os2 but they don't open any quicker either.

Back when you had beta 3 there wasn't a single app on th App Store with native support. Now, there are some and you can find a link to them at 9to5mac. I installed The Weather Channel yesterday and it supports native and has a complication. Very slick and pretty fast loading. At first, I didn't think it was working and there was an issue with native apps that stopped the release of OS2.

Yes, apps will need to support OS2 and need to be setup to install locally. You will notice that they take longer to install when you add them to the watch.

Wait for the release and give the app developers time to update their apps.

I'm running iOS 9 and watchOS 2 GM. To put it plainly, it's a mess. No wonder Apple didn't release it to the general public. It's not a security issue, it's the software not being functional the problem. I'm really not impress with Apple. Do they ever get it right?

I think it's pretty solid. What specific issues are you finding ?

GM works great for my watch. Even using native apps already and battery is even better than previously. No mess at all except for the updating of weather. Workout app works solid now as well. The two native apps load fast and I like the complications though these two will go away once I get other choices.

I didn't see this on the first page, so that may answer my questions. But is there any way to disable screen shots in watchOS2? I'm tired of getting in from mowing the lawn and having like 10 screen shots from the watch being pressed against my glove.

If my phone and watch are on Wifi, and I step away from bluetooth range from my phone, what features will my watch still have? Besides iMessage of course.

As far as I know, you will still have everything available. Your watch will still communicate with your phone. The limit occurs when you forget your phone at home or shut it off but your watch is on a known wi-fi it can do many things but be limited compared to both on the same wi-fi.

I may be missing something but I can shut blue-tooth off and my watch works just as if it had when blue-tooth was still on because my phone and watch are still connected over wi-fi. Just not positive about taking calls on the watch but I do have wi-fi calling now.

I noticed my phone doesn't ring.. This a normal feature when note watch is on you? Ill get a text and my phone won't notify me. Both are set on loud.

And also, both are on WiFi but don't always work. I'm going to assume its my wifi because connection has always been sketchy around my parts.

Watch OS2 is out!

thanks, that was last week. ;-)...since I'm BACK now it's currently downloading.. another 10 min now (32 min total)

Does anyone have a linky (here or other location) to a great review of ALL the changes to OS2?

There is an upgrade over the GM

GM Build is 13S343 and the public release is build 13S344. So whatever they added is probably minor.

I posted about this in another thread but the update process for Apple Watch is stupidly slow and incompetent.

When I loaded Beta 1 onto my watch back in June it look around 3 hours and it hasn't gotten any faster. Even sitting inside an Apple store the last beta update took 2 hours.

Apple should make the watch connect to wifi directly and download instead of bluetoothing 500MB from the phone to watch. Most stupid process ever.

So far WatchOS 2is a bust for me apps running slow (even on wifi) Time-lapse freezes this is awful. Anyone else having these issues?

During the beta process, I would see update times of a couple of hours every so often. I did find that restarting the Apple Watch and updating again would lower the time it took to update to 20 or so minutes, rather than the 2 hours it was saying before the restart.

Might be worth a shot?

Seems like the jelly fish is loading much faster. I used to hardly ever see it pop up and now it seems to be right behind the time. Moved up to my favorite face I think. Also really love the multi colored utility. Goes a long way to make that face appealing to me, really breaks it up nicely and the rings look awesome with it!

Soooo you can't change the nightstand color to red? Seriously? It has to be bright green? And it bright, we all know red light saves your night vision right? SMH...
