Is there a weight training workout?
Yes. It's called strength training instead.
Is there a weight training workout?
Just noticed this today in watchOS 3:
1. Double-click the crown takes you to the last opened app
2. Double-click the home button still goes to Apple Pay.
If you are wheelchair user, you can turn on wheelchair mode (on your iPhone -> Watch -> Health). This enables two wheelchair workouts - walking and running speed.
Not a new workout but the workout app remembers your last workout and it's settings (distance/calories/open) and gives this as a first option. For example Outdoor walk with Open goal. Choosing that starts said workout immediately.
It also now displays more information during the workout. Too lazy for screenshot, but you see name of workout, current time, time passed, distance traveled, speed and heart rate.
The app developers probably need to update their apps.am I the only one who dislikes the fact that there is no Glance now? This is annoying to me because I used to be able to read top news on CNN, see the latest posts on Instagram, see Top Trending on Twitter, see the latest scores on OneFootball but now it's all gone.
The Dock isn't as useful, cos it displays the actuall app screen, which is not suitable for glancing information. For example, now OneFootball displays the 'EURO 2016 2 matches' instead of the latest scores. What is more, as I have my bank app installed on my watch, whenever I open it, it stays there on Desktop under 'Recent' showing how much money I have on my account without being able to remove it.
Any take on this?
And we can't force close app now, right?
Thank you![]()
How to we force close apps now? And also, if I slide the medical ID which comes up from pressing and holding the side button down , and sliding the option over, will it call 911? Or just show my medical ID on the screen instead? Just don't want to call the police for no reason.
There is a way to force quit.
As I mentioned in my previous posts, I added that to the first post in this thread.
In watchOS 3, now hold the side button until the power off button appears, then hold the crown. Force quit accomplished.

Plus, I'm in New Zealand and there's no emergency contact feature when you hold the side button. It will only display power off button and my medical ID. Can someone else, perhaps non-US residents, confirm that this is also the case for you?
You're right that the tap feature was there. I always told Siri to launch an app and lowered my wrist immediately in watchOS 2, buy got notified of it later by taps. So that's the same behavior.
However Siri actually saying "I'll tap you when I'm ready" is new.
The developer of that app just has to update their app to support it.
One small 'hidden thing' is that you can use the Digital Crown to scroll through the items in the Dock. So it's much faster to navigate than Glances was.
The emergency contact button has not been enabled yet in this beta.

If I'm not mistaken, one of the things that they mentioned (either on stage or in some documentation) was their idea that developers should sort of rethink and redesign their watch apps to be more glance-able by default, essentially making the default view of the app be similar to a glance when viewed in the dock. If most devs follow this new model, then glances shouldn't really completely go away, they just won't be called that anymore. They'll be glance-able apps now. It'll still be a bit different and take a bit to get used to but I'm already loving the changes. The apps I have in my dock really do seem to launch almost instantly and I'm hoping that when devs can take advantage of more frequent updates it'll be even better. I love using Dark Sky on my watch and that would be nice to always have up to date.Yea, I noticed that we can browse through the apps with the Digital Crown now, which is more convenient than swipe, swipe, swipe on Glance. But still, I personally think Glance gives me a lot more information at a glance (that's the point) than the Dock. Perhaps it's just because I've been so used to using Glances all this time and never actually opened apps, except perhaps some games.
I've read through the comments on watchOS 3 and haven't seen this yet. Does anyone know if you can move the time around on the photo face so its not always on the top right?
I red somewhere that there should be a way to label workouts somehow, but I haven't figured out how.Can you rename workouts? Like if you use the other workout, change the name to something else?
You can have it in the top or bottom right corner. Has one small complication above time (limited amount of complications available) and one large/wide below.I've read through the comments on watchOS 3 and haven't seen this yet. Nope.

Also not sure if new feature, but Activity app on iPhone now shows your route in the workouts. It doesn't work properly currently, but there is a small map with the route highlighted.

You can press the side button and the crown to pause the workout.
He's wrong - you totally can move it to the bottom right!Darn, oh well. Thanks for letting me know. Maybe one day.
Sorry, I misread the initial post - I thought it said Watch battery/signal, not iPhone battery signal - which wasn't available on wOS 2 as far as I know.I can't find the Phones battery / signal on watchOS 2 only the watch. Can you post an image of where it is?
So good to hear! Speed improvements were an absolute must!I love the workout app. Everything is so much faster. Previously it used to take several seconds when you pressed Stop on a workout and show the summary. Now it's instant. Also the heartrate monitor also seems more accurate. This is only the first day of me using it so it may just be a fluke but it seems like it was reading my heartrate much faster and I barely got the 'reading' heartrate indicator. Seems like watchOS3.0 is worth it just for the new workout app. Other features are just cherries on the cake!
Of course!![]()
