Submitted a feature request just now for automatically moving the date display to avoid blocking it with the analog faces' hands:

Perhaps they could make the minute hand more transparent when it hovers over that area.

Nah, the hands should be the most prominent feature because the main purpose is to tell time. Everything else is secondary.

I get that having a stationary in-dial date is reminiscent of regular watches, but those watches are stuck with the same layout. Some of them get around the blockage by having a wider window to show the neighboring days (you'd easily see the "10" and "12" today, for example), but the neat thing about a smart watch is that it can easily change a dial configuration.

[edit] Adding a few mockups.

Yeah I do agree with you. I think the alternative -- the date complication moving around doesn't feel right to me either. It would just look/feel tacky. I was thinking more that only that portion of the minute hand be subtly transparent so one could see the date beneath it, but the rest of the minute hand stay opaque.

It's not the best idea. But it would be better. With the current way, I hate having to invoke Time travel and move the minute hand away to see the date properly.

It is still really early to tell, but I have had beta 3 installed on my series 0 watch for about two hours, and I am getting pretty good battery life.

Guys Solar face is face is still very laggy on s0. My fav watch face, but too laggy on s0. I think it was stable on os1 and in the early versions of os2

Most of the things I do on my s0 are laggy. espacially the performance of the Home & Messages are sometimes frustrating.

Yeap totally agree. It was laggy out of the box. I am using it only for notifications/clock. However, I do like Solar face, but cannot use it because of the fps. When you go from home screen to clock the fps is like 1fps.

Gotta say, 3.1 b3 seems to be pretty solid. Smooth and battery life seems to be for ME at least much extended. Now, dark sky updated their app and watch app as well, so I can't say it's a clean test but BL is notably improved and it was just fine before..

Went from 3.0 to 3.1 B3 and good lord the battery life is amazing. Massive difference. (Series 2)

As I speak I am 6 hours since charging and at 95% still.

I sleep with it on, so was charging briefly in the morning and the evening, but now just the once.

New with this Beta 3.1B3? In the summary after you completed a workout (cycling for me) you now can tap on the average Speed to see your splits.

Does that say 11? I've never noticed this before, I feel the numbers are big enough that you can make them out even when covered.

Maybe. Or maybe it's 14. ;)

It was always funny with my regular watches, too, if I needed to know the date and it just happened to be :15 past the hour when I looked.

It's worse with the smaller day-date in the Utility face. I did a couple mockups of solutions in another post:

To anyone on 3.1 beta: Is that terrible lag when scrolling through the emoji-favorites been fixed?
That lag renders sending emojis from the watch almost useless.
