That's right, I didn't think about that.

I hope I'm wrong! But I think they would risk ticking off a lot of people if they suddenly come out with new band colors when many people who preordered still won't have their watch yet. There would probably be a whole lot of returns to process. I still haven't purchased my sports band yet to go with my loop. Haven't decided if I should wait it out. I'd like something more colorful but don't like the current color options.

Does anyone know if someone can scan the Apple Watch strap and make a 3d print using fluoroelastomer? Would still need hardware but maybe that could be removed from another model or matching plastic colors could be used for the snaps?

About time!

Yeah. We've been looking forward to paying almost 50 bucks for a piece of plastic that costs 99 cents to manufacture - and where the box it comes in probably costs more than the contents.

I remember when Apple tech cost a lot because it was genuinely innovative and expensive to make, but the profit margins for stuff like this would make Gordon Gekko wince.

I live in Miami. That looks like it may be the store in Aventura....if we can find out exactly what store it is, I'll go right now and confirm (and buy a couple of bands:p)

It's The Falls not the store at Aventura

Unfortunately you cannot exchange the white SB for a black SB as neither variation comes with either band, ie silver alum can never be bought with a black band, space grey casing can never be bought with a white band. I got the white sport and should have my black band in a few days, will sell my white and maybe recoup some of the extra $50.

That's pretty much my plan. I ordered a aluminum Sport with a white band and added the black band. Going to post the white band on eBay to help offset the cost of the extra band.

Not to get off on a tangent, but I really don't understand why Apple didn't offer a silver aluminum Sport with black band combo.

Well I can tell you that I got one from Amazon and the quality difference is worlds apart.

Thanks for letting me know. I guess I will not be cancelling my online order just yet lol
They should have bands in Selfridges, but I can't be bothered walking 10 minutes more to go there lol Plus I hate Oxford Street... If you give them a call they'll confirm.
My band will arrive next week anyway

********.

My Milanese loop I ordered April 21st still shows July 18th - 22nd delivery.

Try this Apple, deliver what people purchased before putting it on store shelves.

It's mind blowing that the link bracelet costs so much more than WHOLE WATCHES from reputable makers (Seiko, etc.) that use similar link bracelets.

WTF, Apple?

Completely disagree. The bracelets on Seiko and similar brands don't compare. The Apple link bracelet is on par with higher-end Movado and Tag Heuer bracelets, even Rolex. It's very well-made.

I ordered an ML on launch day and it is still Preparing For Shipment ... says dispatched "May", must admit i thought it would be early May.

It is taking a lot longer than I anticipated to be honest.

Some speculated that it was to make sure they sell enough of the Space Grey model but that made no sense since it is (obviously) the most popular of the Sport variants. I honestly think it's just greed as they know that they can net a large amount of people who would want the silver aluminum casing with the black sport band, it's one of the nicer affordable combinations of the Sport. But the extra $50 does sting a little when there is no good reason for it.

Yes, we should go back to the old days and everyone should get a Volga, which was sold at a very negative profit margin. Go comrades!

If you think Apple's margins are high, try looking up the margins for everyone else in the watch business.

Apparently when people think about Apple and pricing it's the first time they think about how much stuff costs vs what stuff actually sells for. I suppose that's good, but then we have to live with comments like this one.

that would be awesome, would definitely buy.

I'd also like a darker red leather loop! Not too dark, just not bright neon red. The leather should look a little less sporty but still have a nice pop of color. It's ridiculous that the $17,000 38mm Edition is the only one with a red band.

Apple Galleria in Ft. Lauderdale has 42mm Blue and Black sport bands and 38mm White bands. That's all.

Apple Store on Walnut in Philly has all colors of Sport Band and limited number of milanese loop and only 1 classic buckle that I just picked up :)

I just think that 660$ for a band is just too much, and since i want one, I feel pissed. A regular stainless steal band costs between 50-70$, expensive one can go up to 150$, but 660$ is robery. Again for something thats made in China with non-expensive materials, you must be braindamaged to purchase it for that price. Even if it is custom alloy, they could have at least offered "made in california" for that price. There are plently of reasons that justify the price of a mac or iphone such as the OS, the material, the qualify, that you cant just buy from other place. However, for a watch band, It feels like an extorsion from Apple, while there arent many option from third parties. They should just lower the price of that thing...The Apple margin is not a margin anymore, its 300-400% net profit per unit sold.

Finally received my black leather loop from Apple today. It's really good to see that the bands are finally reaching some stores too.

Out of curiosity, band only? And if so, what size and when did you order? Thanks

Band only. I ordered the Medium one on 4/27 that I received today.

Someone in the Germany thread had a similar timeframe to yours...
I ordered mine (band only, black, medium, UK) on the 4/15, and still waiting for it!!
Oh well, at least Im not waiting for the watch itself any more...
Thanks for replying
