How do you get through directly to a local store? Everytime I call the number for my local stores listed on the Apple site I get the online store and of course they are all saying that they aren't carrying them in store yet.

When I called, the rep said it's no longer possible to get a salesperson in-store and that all calls go to a call center. Not sure if this is completely true because I've seen a couple of people say they called their local stores.

Someone in the Germany thread had a similar timeframe to yours...
I ordered mine (band only, black, medium, UK) on the 4/15, and still waiting for it!!
Oh well, at least Im not waiting for the watch itself any more...
Thanks for replying

Hope that you get yours soon. It was worth the wait in my opinion. I like it much better than the sport band I've been wearing for the past 4 weeks. Plus I really needed something dressier for work.

This is very annoying for someone who just purchased a band online. HOWEVER, my Watch hasn't arrived yet and the band might arrive at the same time. So, I guess I lucked out this time.

Can we get any confirmations frmo any of NYC stores please? Much thanks to people that swing by 9I don't work in the city sadly)

I actually just got back from the UWS store in NYC, they were just putting them on the shelves! I got a 42mm Black Sport Band.

I just think that 660$ for a band is just too much, and since i want one, I feel pissed. A regular stainless steal band costs between 50-70$, expensive one can go up to 150$, but 660$ is robery. Again for something thats made in China with non-expensive materials, you must be braindamaged to purchase it for that price. Even if it is custom alloy, they could have at least offered "made in california" for that price. There are plently of reasons that justify the price of a mac or iphone such as the OS, the material, the qualify, that you cant just buy from other place. However, for a watch band, It feels like an extorsion from Apple, while there arent many option from third parties. They should just lower the price of that thing...The Apple margin is not a margin anymore, its 300-400% net profit per unit sold.

Reminds me of lots of things like designer clothes and some brands of headphones. I wouldn't say they're braindamaged, they're just spending a lot of money to cultivate an image.

Awesome!

I went to my local Apple Store at the Stonebriar Mall in Frisco, Texas. They didn't have them on the shelf, so I asked someone. They had several. The blue and green sports band. I asked for the Leather Loop, and they had it in stock as well. I picked it up. It looks pretty awesome on my 42mm Space Grey.

Say this: "Manager"

You'll get the store.

:)

I wanted the stainless band for the apple watch and was pissed as well. Went with the sport and will move to the leather loop soon.

My old daily driver watch's band needed replacement its rubber and it was over $600
I bought a fake off the street to replace it, $40 gotta love canal street in NYC. More recently I spent the $600 and i could tell you there is a huge difference and came in a nice red velvet package. Not worth $560.

The stainless band for that watch is over $1,500. Cartier vs Apple. $660 doesn't look that bad. I would spend the money if version 2 is the same excepts the same band as v1.

Excellent timing since the white sport band I have been waiting for for over a month is set to arrive today.

Be nice if my preordered band and watch were delivered first. Ordered 15th April.

After reading all of this i decided to check the apple store. I noticed that Some bands are 1-2 weeks Mainly Black and Pink from what i see.. while the rest are 5-7 days.

After that i checked the watches. I noticed that the 42mm SS SSLB has improved from 5-7 weeks to 4-6 weeks.. Yet my order still shows 5-7 weeks - i imagine that will get bumped up sometime today or this week seeing the shipping times on the site have improved.

For what it's worth...

Glad I saw this post. Went to my Apple Store and picked up a 42" black sports band over the noon hour.

I checked out 5th and didn't see any. Saw this and drove over. Picked it up for my 38mm SS. Now I can use my watch for my tennis sessions! Woo

Did you know they markup your glass of soda by around 100-200x? Don't even get me started on beer/wine/alcohol.

That's pretty much my plan. I ordered a aluminum Sport with a white band and added the black band. Going to post the white band on eBay to help offset the cost of the extra band.

Not to get off on a tangent, but I really don't understand why Apple didn't offer a silver aluminum Sport with black band combo.

I am interested in your white band if it's 42MM. Let me know.

Just bought a black sports band from 5th avenue

Are you kidding me...
The apple guy looked at me like was was smoking crack when i asked and told i can order it online. I even told him other store are getting today. If you said leather loop i would seriously go back there and yell at the guy and make him cover my taxi. Some apple store employees are douch bags.

I picked up two sports bands (they only have sports bands) at Aspen Grove in Colorado.

More importantly I think this definitevely tells us that Apple will have no issues with stocking watches in stores before preorders are shipped.

What they should really do is send emails and allow for preorders (placed before April 24th) to change to in store pick up if the product we preordered is at a store near us. I know, I know this sounds like a big undertaking logistically and it is but I truly think that's the only way they'd be able to combat the backlash they'll feel once they start stocking watches me and many many others have been waiting for for well over a month now. Just my two cents!
