Are you kidding me...
The apple guy looked at me like was was smoking crack when i asked and told i can order it online. I even told him other store are getting today. If you said leather loop i would seriously go back there and yell at the guy and make him cover my taxi. Some apple store employees are douch bags.

Ugh, thats annoying. Seriously though, any NYC stores have any black leather loops? Tired of the preorder wait.

Called the store in Düsseldorf this afternoon. They had only blue green and white sport bands. No black bands available.

It's mind blowing that the link bracelet costs so much more than WHOLE WATCHES from reputable makers (Seiko, etc.) that use similar link bracelets.

WTF, Apple?

Sure, there's a premium for the Apple name, but it's not egregious like some high end luxury brands. I've seen a few SS links go for hundreds of dollars; not even the full band... just a few links. And they all require special tools, aren't forged from custom SS that's 80% harder than standard SS nor do they have clasps that sit nearly flush with the band. So relatively speaking, $450 for Apple's innovative SS band is a very good value IMO.

I went to my local Apple Store at the Stonebriar Mall in Frisco, Texas. They didn't have them on the shelf, so I asked someone. They had several. The blue and green sports band. I asked for the Leather Loop, and they had it in stock as well. I picked it up. It looks pretty awesome on my 42mm Space Grey.

I went there around 1.30 PM and they said that did not have any. Wonder if that person did not have any clue.

I see you've never priced an authentic Rolex or Tag (etc.) link bracelet. Or any other products from high-end shops that have a revenue per square meter anywhere close to that of a typical Apple store.

Curious how informed some of these store employees are. When I called earlier, two of the three stores asked me which one I was looking for and they could check. I was thinking, "Sweet, they at least have some!" After a five minute hold, they both came back to tell me they actually aren't selling any at this time but they could help me order one. Seems like no one knows what is going on there.

How do you get through directly to a local store? Everytime I call the number for my local stores listed on the Apple site I get the online store and of course they are all saying that they aren't carrying them in store yet.

Ask the automated system for a "Retail Manager" I too got forwarded to a retail specialist not at the physical location and they told me there were none in stock. But I know I needed to talk to someone inside the physical store, which I then got transferred too.

So, Promenade Temecula in SoCal has ALL Sport bands in stock. Went in the morning about 11am and walked out with a blue and white for my SGS 42mm

I ordered an ML on launch day and it is still Preparing For Shipment ... says dispatched "May", must admit i thought it would be early May.

It is taking a lot longer than I anticipated to be honest.

Interesting. I ordered a ML on launch day, 4/10, and fedex delivered it on 5/9. For yours to have not shipped yet, there must have been a **ton** of MLs ordered on 4/10.

greedy apple with ... pricing.

It's exactly the opposite. Apple extracts money from greedy people, and distributes it to their employees and shareholders (many of whom have far less than greedy loot hoarders).

Note that even Walmart and Starbucks have 401k savings programs that can be used by starting wage employees to buy some AAPL stock.

A fraction of the microscopic amount of AAPL stock that is in an IRA that I started funding when I was earning what today would be below minimum wage has more than paid for an Apple Watch band. The higher the prices at which Apple successfully sells stuff, the more that Apple extracts from greedy people. Thus, hopefully, the better your parents retirement fund looks.

Did you know they markup your glass of soda by around 100-200x? Don't even get me started on beer/wine/alcohol.

Well, they're marked up so the company creating those things can survive. It's not so good when you see already millionaires/possibly billionaires doing it (like Beats). A lot of money goes into R&D too.

So what you're saying is that companies with lots of cash need to sell their goods for less, because the amount of money you have in the bank should determine what the goods you sell should cost?

I'm saying companies must sell at prices to maintain what they want to do. A small brewery (since you mentioned drinks before) has a smaller markup per unit because they're paying fewer people and there's less R&D. A company like Apple selling link bracelets at thousands of times their material cost must do so because they're a huge business and have lots of people to pay, even though less went into R&D on that particular item (but will be spread out onto other items and grant more creative freedoms to their development teams).

That's the science behind it.

But on our more human-perception level we see people charging more and think less of them. If there are two beers for sale and one has a smaller markup I'm more likely to support them to help them out, because it just appears better to me.

(I suppose a good example of this would be my preference to buy headphones like Audio Technica and not Beats)

Is there a list of stores that have these in stock? Don't feel like driving all the day to my store.

wtf US price v Australian a rip off

as usually, most of it is just packaging .....

Just a waste of a big box just for some band(s)..

Anyone would think Apple would wanna take great "care" of their bands the same they take great care of their Mac shipping.

Its a Watch-strap, not a computer..

Give it to me in a strong plastic type sleeve,, they'll do, and about half the size. or more.

Can confirm the Apple Store in Toledo at Franklin park mall has them in black, blue, green and white. Picked up a white myeself today.

Went to the Tyson's Corner and Fair Oaks Apple Store in Virginia.

Tyson's said they have them in stock but are unable to sell them. (?)

Fair Oaks had both 42mm and 32mm sport band (all colors), black leather loop, and the classic buckle.
Purchased a white sport band for myself.
