Except Apple standard is higher. You completely missed my point. I never said Apple releases stuff completely without problems.

Do you mean the design? The case ? Cause they are electronic devices that are also used by different manafactures, components I mean. Apple does not make these components, the quality is not higher. It's these components that result in Apple products with issues

Apple doesn't make it, but they decide what defect rate is acceptable. That standard is much higher than the other companies.

I'm talking about hardware. Apple is known as a premium company for hardware, not necessarily for software(although it's still better than most).

The iPhone had antenna issues, MacBooks had heat issues, screen issues, graphics card issues, iPad Minis had screen issues, the iPad 3 had issues..... Apple products have had problems just like everyone else.

You keep bringing up this higher standard, where are you getting this from?

So it was her decision alone to never admit faults? Yeah right.

Apple will just fix the problem and replace effected models , they are not going to feed the media trolls by admitting issues.

Her and Steve Jobs. :)

The Bloomberg headline is: Apple Finds Defect in Watch Component. All I'm saying is if the media starts spinning this as current owners may have defective watches then Apple probably has to comment. There's a big difference between watch orders being delayed due to faulty component and customers receiving watches with faulty component.

Though you cannot quantify that . Defect rates are not made public as far as I am aware.

Apple has had its share of recalls.

Apple was unable to use the Taptic Engines from the supplier in Shenzhen, China, but a those produced by a second supplier in Japan did not have the same issue.

This is what I appreciate about Apple. They refuse to sell sub-standard stuff.

You are just assuming it was just those 2 ;)

Yes, if it gets out of control they will comment. They never comment this early, and unlike something like the iPhone 4, bugger all units have shipped. They caught it early.

Doesn't make sense.

I ordered 2 black sports within seconds or the launch. 4-6 week delivery.

Yesterday I ordered a white sports. Out for delivery tomorrow!

They both use the same Taptic engine!

Same happened to me, I ordered SS black sports band out for delivery tomorrow - who would of thought

Yep. I was saying this all along.

They committed to the April Date and found out that there was a manufacturing issue when it was too late. No surprise here.

this is gonna be bad for those people waiting and waiting only to quite possibly receive a defective watch.

no. the point of the delay is that they recalled the bad units and have to remake them. if you're assuming the remakes may be defective, well -- anything can be defective.

so theres no way to hate on this.

Wonder if that is the reason it became a online launch. They did not have enough units for a store launch, and with online they could control the rollout with very limited numbers

Wonder if the people who got the first units need to be worried though.

This is what I appreciate about Apple. They refuse to sell sub-standard stuff.

On the contrary, they have a history of selling devices with parts that come from two suppliers, where one is an excellent part, and the other is known to be sub-par. Especially displays.

Smart Apple buyers always research to see if they need to check parts, before buying.

Apple doesn't make it, but they decide what defect rate is acceptable. That standard is much higher than the other companies.

What other companies? And what are their rates?

Apple has historically had return rates ranging from about 2% up to a high of over 20% (for a particularly bad hard drive based iPod).

Steve Jobs himself noted that the iPhone 3GS had a 6% return rate.

Yep, just like they released iOS 7 and 8 free from bugs. And the iPhone free from antenna problems. And Apple maps, and.............

sorry but no matter how many times you say it, there were no antenna issues -- watch the apple press conference where Jobs released the stats on dropped calls: non-issue. the so-called death-grip was not a problem in the wild, and could be done to other internal antenna phones too. all in the video.

the real proof? they continued to sell that exact same model (iPhone 4) for years, w/o changing or recalling it. no lawsuits.

next.

I think that's right. There is also a supply issue with bands.

Lots of people have complained that they can barely feel the taps, and sometimes, not at all.

I ordered 4 minutes in and shipping was estimated at 4-6 weeks. That is completely outside the norm, and I knew it had nothing to do with the Watch being more popular than they anticipated.

Apple missed the launch date and didn't want to admit it.

They had a choice to make - screw up the launch by delaying the whole thing, or just delay shipments (and ship faulty Watches) and spin it like the Watch is HUGELY IN DEMAND!!!

They chose to ship faulty Watches and spin the delays as if it were a good thing.

Thanks, Tim and Angela.

Stop shipping faulty software and stop shipping faulty hardware.

I don't know when I'll get mine, but if I can sell it for a profit, I will. And maybe get one when we know the issues are fixed.

Is it also Apple's fault for choosing the cheapest options to maximise profits, they choose the Chinese suppliers?

so, do you have any proof for this hypothesis of yours? or do you just make it up as you go along?

fact: as apple has stated in the past, most of the components industry is based in china. thats where the parts are, so thats where they are.

Though you cannot quantify that . Defect rates are not made public as far as I am aware.

Apple has had its share of recalls.

Well, one way you can base it is on customer satisfaction rating. It's typically at the top.

So their standard is higher yet they released maps, iOS 7, 8, iCloud and several others that weren't quite up to Apple standards? Yes, I do understand that.

Let it go, seriously man, there are more important things. You have made your opinion on the matter of Apple's released product quality known. Thank you for the input, we get it.

what iPad issues? a few people complaining about color gamut does not an issue make.
