Looks like the apple watch is going to be the first Apple product to get a huge markerting push before it's officially given a release date.

In her car or at home because she doesn't need it to effing run.

"He was exactly right. The Apple Watch requires an iPhone to work and is being positioned as an iPhone accessory. For at least the first generation, Watch apps will be an extension of the apps stored on the iPhone, and the Watch will use the iPhone's GPS to measure distance and speed to track daily activities. As it tracks activity, footsteps and the user's heart rate, it will be on the iPhone that the data is consolidated and tracked."

Why buy a 400$ watch if you arent going to use it as its meant to be? If she wants a simple tracker a 50$ one will do

Would you consider your iPhone poor battery life? Or your MacBook Air assuming you have either? Because Cook has said you'll need to charge the watch every day. Just like an iPhone and MBA (if used frequently, of course)
Yes I consider my iphone 5 to have poor battery life (not my macbook pro btw) and no I dont charge it daily .

Wow, I don't know why I didn't expect coverage like this. I'm impressed. Candice Swanepoel, first of all, is hot as h*ll and she has been my favorite Victoria's Secret Angel for a long time. Apple is making the right moves, likely thanks to the ex-CEO of Burberry. If I were an active woman, I'd definitely want an Apple Watch after seeing Candice wear one. Hell, I am an active MAN and I definitely want one after seeing Candice wear one.

Calm down dude.

I saw the pict, I just didn't see the iWatch....
So I guess you are male and are still breathing :)
(to anyone who noticed the watch before reading the headline....sorry, you are deep in Nerd-trouble :D)

When you can't innovate... advertise.

They didn't need to do this with their other products, probably because they sold themselves...
:apple:

You are kidding right? Apple is known to advertise pretty strong for all their products. Do you watch movies or tv shows? Apple puts their products in more movies than any other brand. They make the best products yes, but they also advertise like crazy.

Is it just me or does her body look really badly photoshopped, especially the shirt?

You don't really need a GPS for running. You running in a strange place? You got lost? Nah. But without the phone, the watch will track your heart rate, the distance you ran, the calories burned, and so on. It will even play music loaded on your watch while you run, without the phone (through bluetooth headphones). Not bad.

Yeah, for how long?

I can honestly say the Apple Watch is almost as ugly as the Pebble. That crown... that thickenss... are you kidding me?

A very subjective comment. Just out What cars do you like? What style of house? Who's you favourite artist? Music? Me: Aston Martin, Huf Haus's, Dali, Indie ;)

But in answer - It's not as thick as a lot of Rolex or Tags. Or even G-Shocks. And tiny compared to some of the Submariner watches - and they have MASSIVE crowns.

Postively spelt compared to other smart watches

Further - white goes with everything. So does black. And people change outfits daily - not bands.

Well, that's changing too. I have quite a few friends with luxury watches (Rolex and Breitling mainly) and they swap their bands regularly to suit their clothes. Many use NATO bands, which come in many different colors.

Probably, but it's also the weird angle she's standing. All of her weight is on her right leg (left to us), and her torso is kind of tipped and twisted over the hip a bit. That's what I see anyway, though I'm a bit more concerned about her skinny arms, to be honest. It's great to see that this is the image we're still promoting of the 'healthy' and 'active' woman...

Don't know what's worse. That or the depiction of these heffers wearing skimpy clothes so that it adequately reflects what you see shopping at Walmart or Target. They even have fat mannequins for Pete's sake.

At her home. At her car. Anywhere! It doesn't matter. You don't have to have the iPhone on you to be wearing and Apple Watch.

This is what I'm afraid of. People really don't know that you need to have the watch tethered to your iPhone to have all the cool features operational. Otherwise it's a notch above a casio dumbwatch.
What's the purpose of a smartwatch if all your trying to do is look pretty in a photo shoot? And to deal with a battery that will only last 20 hours just to show off? That should get tiresome real quick. Apple is losing the real purpose behind the entire idea. I don't want to see a fashion ad. Show me what makes the watch smart? I love tech; I'm not a tight jeans wearing hipster.

I have to say, I'm impressed by that photo. But she's definitely more model than athlete.

Up until now, Apple's Apple Watch marketing has been heavily focused on fashion, but with the piece in Self, the company appears to be targeting fitness enthusiasts who might purchase the Apple Watch for its health-related functions -- step tracking and heart rate monitoring.

Oh yeah, fitness enthusiasts, sure...

Just don't you dare to jump into the ocean behind you for a swim with the precious :apple:WATCH on, Candice!

Apple WATCH official site said:
"The best sports watch is one you never have to take off.”

Sure, but we just might be holding it wrong...

All hype. Poor battery life and now rumors of less sensors. I guess it's meant for fashion. It will just look good but functionality will be the downfall.

Exactly! More fashionwatch than smartwatch. I wish Apple focused more on the core experience for a few years at a much affordable price and then worry about premium models later. I'm still turned off from seeing this watch in action during that presentation. I actually don't mind the look of the watch and the quick change watchbands but my gosh; the operation of the watch looks sloppy and unapple like.
Guess we should just accept the barrage of fashion first ads or ads showing various watch faces in commercials.

That's the Beats influence at Apple. Sell overpriced fashionably designed accessories of questionable audio quality because they've hired the right athletes or rappers to wear them.

Here, you have the scrawny chick with wide grin essentially depicting, "be like me! Wear an Apple watch!"

Its about the thickness (maybe even slight thinner) than the average luxury male watch. You can go on watch sites to verify this. In fact, the size of the biggest one is within range of a huge number of traditional watches.

The smallest watch is smaller than most men's watch (targeted to women I'm guessing).

wow, photoshop much!?

even her waist seems photoshopped

Why is the screen of this :apple: watch lit? :D Her arm is not raised

They had to either photoshop the iPhone out the picture or photoshop a active screen on the watch. Take your pick

Beats influenced? When the watch was developed BEFORE the buy?

BTW, current Beats are well reviewed. So, your argument is pretty flawed.

So, you prefer a watch so unfashionable and clunky nobody but tinkerers will use it? Just like 1970s computers. Is that the way to remain "pure",

My bicep is larger than this chicks neck. Maybe Apple will make a" neck band" for these skinny models. Create a app to count the number of times they stick their fingers down their throats.

Right.. If you casio watch can be used as an IPOD, collect accelerometer and heart beats info and runs independent apps on a high resolution screen. Aren't you tired of repeating the same old thing; trying to convince yourself.

Or maybe, people will be just as bright as you, know exactly what it does and buy it anyway... Isn't that just peachy.
