:D Maybe he should have photoshopped a walkie talkie in place of that cigarette, because Cigarettes kill people.

So does alcohol but you don't see anyone having a go at him drinking because that would make them a hypocrite since practically everyone drinks..

Luxury is if you buy a 12-core Mac Pro to surf the web.

Otherwise, not really.

Or if you buy a 27" imac to surf the web, or a retina mbp.
Or y'know, an iphone to just call and play angry birds.

While I agree Apple products usually work very well, a lot of people (just like my boss in my previous company) that buys Apple only because people are like "wow, an iphone/imac/mba", even if they could do the same with another much cheaper product.

Colette has plenty of articles, some are very fancy, others less

but it fits all tastes

maybe they are not the same as yours but everyone is different ;)

When I read "fashion boutique" I just don't think of barbi iPhone cases. Tastes or not, just doesn't seem very high fashion.

This is where Apple is succeeding. Marketing is everything for this product category. Samsung markets the Gear line for Galaxy owners. Moto360, do they even market it? Pebble just looks like a tamagotchi. Apple's success of this new device won't be with the tech genre, it will be with the fashion genre. They need to make it a must have device for non-tech people and non-fanboys. Its a reverse halo effect.
"I must have the apple watch, oh i need an iphone... wow this is great! Wow look at those ipads, i want one. Wait Apple makes computers too!!! Time to replace my old PC"

This is the plan. Proper placement of Apple Watch outside of the tech arena is what is gonna make or break it. All of us techies gasp at the idea of a $499 watch, but there is a whole market where watches cost upwards of $5000. Its a watch and it needs to compete in the watch marketplace, that is where the other manufacturers of smart watches are failing.

Except its ugly.

I will be there...
Here's hoping to see Apple Watch for real.

I'm still very curious about it and have like a zillion questions. Not that any of them will be answered tomorrow but still, it will be better than just seeing it via professional photography on Apple Website.

Can't wait!

Even if it were a waste of money, the items themselves are not luxury products.

Alcohol doesn't stink up the entire area ruining the experience for others.

I agree that marketing to the "watch community" is where the success would be. But that's why a digital watch is not for me.

In nearly all the promotion images and demonstration/presentation tables in the videos, the watches have faces (since they are activated). But when you wear this thing, people will see a black screen on your hand. The active interface is only for the user. With traditional watches, everyone can see your fashion choice.

So this thing is all about tricking watch people into believing the active interface plays a roll in how others see your watch.

I found it amusing that the photo of someone with a bear in their hand a cigarette handing from their mouth was just above this threads title.

What is it with bears these days and Apple? First it was the iPhone 6 getting bent by bear fingers, now it's Apple designers mishandling bears. Are they like Apple's new ultra-critical focus group?

The fashion statement here is "I wear an Apple Watch". The object if you will.

The face fall into the "personal choice". Which you're right, won't be seen by anyone passing you by. Unless you're using the watch.

Like millions of other people.

With real watches, there are so many models that it is hard to meet somebody else wearing the same one. Even with inexpensive ones.

Ah yes, the height of fashion...

lol

I laugh but, deep down, this just makes me wish I too were french.

I'll drop by the Colette store tomorrow, it's just 15mn from where I live. Maybe I'll take some photos and upload them.

Hah, this guy ********* up big time by posting these photos. Jony will not be happy.

PS. Private jet for the whole design team? Man, those guys are really living the life.

Location

If anyone is interested, that photo is taken in the outside area of the cafe Deux Magots, Blvd St Germain, Paris 5e. The church is on the right out of view, the cafe is on the left out of view, the view faces north....

My interest in the Apple Watch is still well below 1%.

I hope they make it work -- I really do -- I just don't see it happening any time soon. Old school mechanical watches FTW!

Hargh!

The last mechanical watch I bought was an Omega with a mechanical movement. It never kept good time, I wore it for a few months and it's at the bottom of a drawer somewhere. Frankly, a good Casio beats those any time :D

Wear a Basis now, but not so much for the watch functionality.
