Has anyone got any info on how T-Mobile is handling Apple Watch preorders?

All I've seen is that we're carrying
    38mm and 42mm cellular

    Haven't seen any price details

I talked to a T-Mobile rep yesterday who said they were going be receiving some training today for the iPhone launch, but didn't know about the watch. He did say the monthly fee is $5 for any of the LTE watches.

I am chatting with T mobile agent and my monthly cost will be $20!!!! because I have Select choice plan instead of T mobile One plan.

For me to pay only $10/mo, the agent said I would have to switch to T mobile One plan.
If I switch I will be giving up my HD video streaming and LTE tethering.
For both plans, the monthly cost will be about the same for me before adding the watch.
Currently, I pay $200 + $50 tax each month for 8 lines (not including phone payments).
After I switch I will be paying $240 taxes included. (Everyone in my family uses over 2gb/mo so no $10 discount applies.)
So it will be $10 less before adding the watch ($250 -> $240) But all 8 people will never see HD streaming videos again on our phones. I use LTE tethering frequently for my iMac and iPad at home.

My plan now is to preorder a LTE AW3 and wifi AW3 tonight.
Use the LTE AW3 for a week and see how it works out with my daily life.
If I like it, I switch to T mobile One plan. (I am the main account holder so the 7 other members will have to just deal with it.)
If the LTE AW3 turns out to be not very practical because of short battery life or some unknown reason, I return it to apple and keep the wifi AW3. And keep the current plan.

I have simple choice plan, and I am not willing to pay $20 extra for the LTE version of the series 3. Is it mandatory to get the LTE plan, or is optional?

    Thank you

Optional, just like the iPad, you can cancel the LTE subscription.

Did not know that, I thought that I will pay the remaining balance only if I cancel my account with Tmobile. I think I may buy it at Apple then. :)

    Thanks again for the information.

If this holds true, I'd imagine it is a carrier specific thing, so not Apple's fault if T-Mobile decides to throttle the watch to 2G speeds. It should be strongly noted that the T-Mobile page that says wearables are restricted to 2G speeds is from 2016 and says that service is $5 a month, when now service has been revealed to be $10 a month with the One plan and autopay. Perhaps the $5 a month increase is for faster, LTE service?

    I hope so.

As with everything else, "service conditions and prices can change without notification"

What the?! $20 if you have a Choice plan?! I think I might be moving carriers again. I'm the only one left with phone payments from my 5 lines (family plan). T-Mobile One plan cost me way too much than my current plan with my family. No way I would switch plans. If I'm going to pay more I'll be leaving for a better carrier. I don't want to be force to change plans for new devices. Screw T-Mobile.

I just called in and was told that even with Simple Choice, it will be $10/mo. The only difference is that instead of unlimited high speed, it will be 6gb I believe and then throttled just like the other mobile internet plans such as an iPad. This was from someone in the Philippines and they tried to assure me but they didn’t seem too confident. I know this is all new and they are just learning the details today as well.

this isn't true, Tmobile employee here. You can continue to finance as long as you have 1 active line available

I have a employee type discount on my plan, maybe the same as you. Any confirmation on whether its 10 or 20 even after discount?

They told me $10 with autopay on my Simple Choice Unlimited Plan. Tmobile always messes up launch details so who knows. I might be fighting with line credits for the rest of my life on it.

Can't order it right now. Told to call back. Doesn't look like they're carrying stainless steel models either. Speeds limited to 512kbps
