Glad I skipped the Series 0, 1, 2 and 3.

Because then you haven't had an Apple Watch for the last three and a half years? Sounds great.

In photography, we say the best camera is the one you're taking pictures with, today. Otherwise, while you're waiting for the perfect features, you're missing out on what you could be enjoying, today.

I love my AW3. I also look forward to seeing the AW4. In the meantime, I run, bike and hike without my phone while listening to music and still being able to text and take calls. Whatever is coming will probably be great. In the meantime, I'm loving my current toy.

Exactly. I first realized what a problem this was going to be when I walked into an Apple Store where most of the employees were wearing Apple Watches, all appearing as identical lifeless black voids on their wrists, like part of a uniform. Even the individual bands couldn't compensate that observation. Now that the watches are more ubiquitous, the same thing is starting to happen in the general public. Office meetings where most people have identical black squares on their wrists, where there were once fashion statements of individuality that matched their "look". It seems to me Apple may be self aware enough, and still have enough acquired fashion sense to know when it's time for a change. Series 4 is likely it -- including possibly changing the connector for a different set of bands for the new model. The Series 3 will continue to be sold with some upgrades. So customers may end up with several Apple watches they interchange throughout the week, as many people who wear watches do now.

Yep. It was irrelevant what "style" i looked at. The black box dominated the watch. Speaking of bands - they also need to make those not the length of the watch.

It is just so clunky - it never looked like an iconic apple design. Time to start over.

Currently very happy with my AW3 but I may upgrade if:

It's slimmer and lighter, although you get use to it, sometimes I do feel it's thickness, specially with certain jackets or when practicing sports.

As much as i don't really like the bezels on the iPhones, I don't really mind them on the watch. But curious about the larger screen.

More watchfaces (a full heart tracking face, an improved Siri face where you can set the items you want to be displayed.)

I hope this is true!! I am still rocking the original Apple Watch (series 0). I have been waiting for a true update before I buy another one.

I have read this multiple times and I still have no idea what you mean.

I'm good with a redesign as long as all of my bands are still compatible.

I hope so.
And more battery life is always a good news. I usually finish the day with 30/40% of battery left, being able to use the watch for 2 days without charging would be great for a weekend off, no need to bring the charger.

definitely go for a circular design , the square look looks so dated , like one of those 70's digital led watches

plus the whole watchos is circular based , seems a bit of a no brainer

longer battery life is exc too

This is Apple's cash cow! Considering how many they sell and the price they MUST be compatible! Otherwise they will annoy quite a lot of Apple Watch owners!

At first I was reluctant to buy any more due to the cost. But I’m now all aboard the strap train, if they made them all useless I would probably learn my lesson and not bother again.

I have had an Apple watch series 0 38mm from early days. The size is fine for me but the female members of my family regard that as too bulky never mind the even larger size. The idea of a slim band like watch utilizing some display area in the strap, would surely appeal to men and women alike.
My only irritation at the moment is in the battery life which now runs out early in the evening every day. I don't care a jot about LTE as in the UK you have to change to EE which I would never do.
One wish item I would like is a visible and audible warning when my watch is outside a specified range of my phone.

The current Apple Watch isn’t the same design as the original one.

It pretty much is.

So basically the screen will be the same dimensions as originally planned for the original AW.... before they increased the bezels and changed all their videos. Everyone remember that?

No. Are you thinking of a mockup?

I can tell you the one thing that would make me buy a new Apple Watch: Extensible Watch Bands.

If Apple allowed 3rd parties to pass data through the band, it would be a game changer. Then you could have real health functions.

Extensible watch bands is interesting, and I'm not sure Apple has much reason to be dead set against them, but I also don't see many practical use cases right now. Good EKGs, for instance, can't be done with a band, as you would need more contact points than that.

Non-invasive glucose monitoring will come, but Apple doesn't want to deal with the FDA, plus, you need the underside of a wrist to do it.

Non-invasive glucose monitoring isn't a thing that exists right now any more than Theranos ever had a blood sampling device of their own, so whether you would, for this entirely hypothetical technology, need the underside of a wrist or would specifically measure hair follicles or whathaveyou is entirely up in the air.

When this is released, this is when I will upgrade my Apple Watch 1st gen! The other releases have been meh, nothing exciting and my 1st gen still performs perfectly.

At the minimum it should double the battery life, if not triple it, at least in regards to GPS tracking abilities.
Unless the watch can stand on it's own without an iPhone to function properly, it's really not an option.

Of course it is, a watch will never replace a phone ever. It's an add on to your phone never will it replace it.

I haven't got a Tag but I've got an Apple Watch that's sitting in a drawer. :D
I've got a 18 year old tag that I wear every day. I've yet to want to buy a Apple watch with a limited firmware life span, I'm still of the mindset that a watch tells the time, and my phone does the rest and neither need to meet on my wrist to make Apple more money. I just don't find one to be that useful as yet for my personal needs, others mileage may vary of course.
