Happened to me on my Apple Watch Series 7 45mm Stainless Steel with Apple’s 20w recommended charging brick. I have Apple sending me a replacement, at first they wanted me to send my watch in that way they can do diagnostics and test components which is ridiculous. I really hope this is a software issues and it’s not a faulty battery design issue. This has not been a problem for the 2 weeks of using it until today. People need to spread awareness that way Apple does something about it and they don’t just act like this is a one time deal. They acted like it was super uncommon until I started ranting about how their are thousands of people complaining about the same issue online. Spread awareness!! Hopefully a new software will fix all are problems. It would be really annoying if the new watch has the same issue.
Where is your source showing that there are thousands complaining ?

Dang it this started happening to me today as well. I rebooted the watch and so far that seems to have fixed it.

This has happened to me about 5 times on the S7 45mm for me. Using various chargers/cables, will stop charging after a few min. Restarting it has been the only fix that I have found. On a few occasions I have removed and put the watch on the charger and it locked the watch up completely with a blank screen requiring a hard restart of the watch. Seems like a software bug.
Same exact experience here. I have had the watch since launch and it happened for the first time a few weeks ago. It has happened two or three times since. I assume it is software related, but who knows.

Well look it up there is this source and 10 other websites that have people all talking about the same issue. Most of them explaining what to do when it happens. Not everyone is going to go on the internet and write a post about it to spread awareness.

Getting a replacement too. Sometimes charging is veeery slow (1-2% in 15 minutes) even when the watch is nearly empty and fast charging should work, sometimes it doesn’t charge at all despite the charging animation indicates it‘s charging. But nothing happens. After a restart everything’s fine again. Until the next cycle. Apple says it’s not a known issue.

I'm pretty disappointed they are sending replacements and not just pointing to whatever JIRA type system they use and showing us action that the problem is logged and a code fix is being investigated for an ASAP release. And ideally we could upvote there instead of trying to get this kind of thing fed through Apple reps.

This is the year I bought the SS. And to be honest, I don't want a replacement unit that also is not going to work because this is a software issue. If I'd put the money towards an alu then it wouldn't be so irritating as I would not be feeling the extra money spent.

Apple asked me to send it in for diagnosis but I refused. Don’t wanna wait days or weeks u til I get my watch back. Bought it on Amazon two weeks ago so I told them to exchange it. I‘ll get a new one tomorrow morning. If the problem persists, I’ll wait for maybe a software fix or send it in to Apple then.

My Series 7 cellular was doing the same thing multiple times. I was using an older charging puck. I reset it and so far no problems. Maybe should call and see if they will replace it.

That is still not thousands. Thousands means two or more thousand and I just don’t see it. Yes there are many but they’re not in the thousands that I can count. Please show me the thousands

Have been having issues charging my Apple Watch series 7. Getting the watch replaced on Monday but was wondering if anyone else has that problem. The watch randomly stops charging and does not charge, I have to remove the watch from the charger several times to get it to start charging again, not even then does it continue charging. The watch has been reset several times and charger bricks changed as well, same worth he charging cable.
I am on my third I watch 7 because of the same problem!!! I am convinced it is either a quality control problem with Apple or their charger. It is exasperating because I have had these watches for years and have never had a problem until this 7 series. I dont know what to do because replacing it for the 4th time I’m sure will not solve the problem. I hope they come up with a fix. There’s nothing more exasperating than to get ready to leave the house in the mornig, put your watch on and see it is in lower power mode when it’s been on the charge overnight!!!!

I'm glad I saw this thread as I just ordered a new AW 7. I'm going to cancel that and just keep my AW 4.

I think its safe to say there is a problem with the charging proses of the Apple Watch series 7, whether apple will admit it or not. The important thing is we are getting the watches replaced ,not having issues anymore except when I placed it on the Mac to charge, which I won't do again ha but otherwise charging is going as it should.

Just adding another anecdote to the list. My S7 Ti has done this about 3 times over 3 weeks now. I'll come to check it on the charger after 30 minutes to find that it didn't charge. Remove and replace it and it seems to start charging, but then it goes black and won't wake up. Hard restart fixes it. Going to wait for an OS update before I worry about replacing the watch because it feels like a software issue to me. My wife's aluminum S7 has done it once as well.

Edit: Aluminum is 41mm, Ti is 45mm

Thats why everyone that has this issue should post about it th way apple won‘t be silent about it anymore. And figure out why this is happening its really annoying to wait a mo

If there’s people on this form that have had multiple replacements you really think there isn’t thousands of other people having this problem are you dumb? If there is this many people complaining about it there are definitely thousands having the same problem. My buddy works at geek squad at Best Buy and has told me a bunch of people have been coming in complaining about the same issue and they can’t do anything but send it to Apple or tell them to reboot the device. You really think all of those people are going to get online and talk about it. They’re just going to get the replacement and not think much of else it. Only a small percentage of people are going to get online and talk about it. Why would Apple be so fast to replace peoples products if they didn’t know what was going on. What’s the point in arguing.

Agree with you. See Jeanne2021 a few posts above. Three replacements, three time the same issue. Seems widespread to me. I'm curious if my replacement is fine. Hope I can give you an update tomorrow.

I have the 41mm btw
