Could you not order the Blue Apple Watch Series 6 with the Sport Band, or is this a new thing on Apple's site?

I was trying to decide between the Blue or Midnight Apple Watch Series 7 with the "Abyss" Sports Band.

We won't know until the Series 7 is on the Apple Watch Studio. I bet it will be 41 and 45mm only.

Yes but I still want to see the different case colours and band options and add one as favourite before preorders go live. Can’t decide properly when in a rush!

i cant wrap my head around why there’s a date reveal, and the “go live” for the product combinations and selections still hasnt been done.

i find apple’s product pages to be entirely useless. iphones are only shown as renders, not in real world spaces next to other objects for size and color comparison. the watch page is a scrolling mile of self-indulgent text, color options suffer the same problem as the iphone.

tech specs, real world photos, and the product selection options would be very helpful…

Is Apple taking us all for mugs?

Release date of Friday but..
  1. No update specs for AW7
  2. No updated studio to visualise your new combo before you order.
  3. No full pricing released to help get a view on what combos are available.
  4. Still no comparison of the AW7 to current or previous models it’s still only AW6 and lower.
I’m sorry but they have updated the stores to change the pages to offer the release date, all of the above should be there. We shouldn’t be waiting and asking for info on something that goes on sale in only 3 full days time.

Apple really doesn’t seem bothered with this release at all IMHO.

It should be there now. iPad, iPhone, you name it they are all done at the same time. It’s a terrible user experience error to say. Ohh great new watch I will check it out and nope no info.

Sorry as some invoked in retail that’s is very poor. I will stated again they are taking us as mugs or this really is an afterthought release they don’t care about.

What I mean is I don’t think you will be able to order the old 40/44mm with the new S7 even though they are compatible.

Abyss is a new band so it will be available with the S7.

Hopefully the S7 will appear in the Watch Studio soon!

It didn't answer my question is why I asked "Huh?"

I should've clarified more I guess:

I asked if a person could ever purchase the "Blue" Apple Watch Series 6 (back in 2020) with the Sports Band. According to Apple.com, you can't purchase a Blue Series 6 with the Sports Band now (though technically, you can't purchase ANY Series 6 now, but you know what I mean). I was wondering if that was always the case, even back in 2020.

I agree it should already be there but, we have to deal with what is for the moment.

For the last couple of years at least Apple has started sending the watch and bands packaged separately (although shipped together), so you can pretty much order any combination of watch and band you desire.

Would you have preferred this generic monstrosity?

Thanks! The reason why I asked was because I thought it was strange when I look at the Series 6 here:

Note that the Sport Band isn't an option. I thought that was weird, and was curious if that had always been that way.

I know many are underwhelmed by this year’s update, but I haven’t updated since I got my stainless steel S4; the additional features hadn’t really appealed to me & my S4 runs great!

I’ll be upgrading this year, drawn in by the bump in speed, processing, & screen size. So here’s my question: What are everyone’s thoughts on the casing?

I won’t buy the aluminum watch because it scratches easily and I tend to be somewhat accident prone. Titanium is supposed to scratch less, or at least SHOW the scratches less because of the finish, but my black stainless steel S4 doesn’t have a scratch or scuff on it. So, is titanium worth the extra (presumable) $100?

This is from Apple Canada Newsroom. I suppose that you will be able to get similar press releases for the countries where pre-orders begin on Friday. (https://www.apple.com/ca/newsroom/2021/10/apple-watch-series-7-orders-start-friday-october-8/)

Apple Watch Series 7 orders start Friday, October 8, with availability beginning Friday, October 15

Apple Watch Series 7 features a larger and more advanced display, enhanced durability, faster charging, new aluminum case colours, and watchOS 8

Apple Watch Series 7, featuring a larger, more advanced display, is available for order starting Friday, October 8.

Apple today announced Apple Watch Series 7, featuring the largest and most advanced Apple Watch display ever — and a reengineered Always-On Retina display with significantly more screen area and thinner borders — will be available to order beginning Friday, October 8, at 5 a.m. PDT and available in stores starting Friday, October 15.

The design of Apple Watch Series 7 is refined with softer, more rounded corners, and the display has a unique refractive edge that makes full-screen watch faces and apps appear to seamlessly connect with the curvature of the case. At just 1.7 mm thin, the narrower borders of Apple Watch Series 7 maximize the screen area of the display while minimally changing the dimensions of the watch itself. Apple Watch Series 7 also features a user interface optimized for the larger display, a new QWERTY keyboard, plus two unique watch faces — Contour and Modular Duo — designed specifically for the new device. Users benefit from the same all-day 18-hour battery life,1 now complemented by 33 percent faster charging.

The Contour face on Apple Watch Series 7 is shown on the PRODUCT(RED) aluminum case.

The new Contour face on Apple Watch Series 7 — shown on the new PRODUCT(RED) aluminum case — takes the dial right to the edge of the display and fluidly animates throughout the day, emphasizing the current hour.

The Modular Duo face is shown on Apple Watch Series 7.

The World Time face is shown on Apple Watch Series 7.

The classic World Time face, based on heritage watches and ideal for travelers, tracks the time in 24 time zones around a double dial.

Available in 41mm and 45mm sizes, Apple Watch Series 7 is the most durable Apple Watch ever, with a stronger, more crack-resistant front crystal. It is the first Apple Watch to have an IP6X certification for resistance to dust, and maintains a WR50 water resistance rating.2

Feels like a really botched rollout to me. Like either they intentionally don’t want to share any details or this watch is really an odd backup product and they didn’t even finalize the marketing plan and all the marketing material. But at the same time someone from sales is pushing to start collecting orders…
