So let me see. hmmmm. apple took an already great watch and stated that it updated the size, so you get a bigger great watch. Reviewers state: Apple Watch Series 7 is just a bigger Apple Watch series 6, which was already great. makes sense
Don't think about it - forget about it - is my advice. (I know... advices are the cheapest commodities anyone can give)Still thinking about it, but not too sure. going from the 6.
Oh man, I remember dick tracy had one in the old cartoons (and a jet pack, btw)That would be cool, as video calls are part of the new future.
You wouldn’t want to give up the magnetic charger for Qi.Why are they still not allowing Qi charging? I'd quite like one but refuse to if they keep insisting on their own charger.
Funny thing is, I was thinking that exact same thought.Oh man, I remember dick tracy had one in the old cartoons (and a jet pack, btw)
Honestly, that all makes a lot of sense.Don't think about it - forget about it - is my advice. (I know... advices are the cheapest commodities anyone can give)
Overall - the best strategy is to be on a 2 or maybe 3 years upgrade.
This time you really save yourself some $$$.
I am also upgrading iPhones and Watches on 3-4 gens leaps if possible - so that it makes more sense on the upgrades.
Example: iPhone 4S - iPhone 7 - iPhone 11 pro max - iPhone 14
Watch series 2 - Series 4 - Series 6 - Series 8
Think both strategically when you have some cash to spare to rather rinvest on both phone and watch at bigger leaps and not throw money at everything new when it's not that much of an upgrade.
Just remember, every new thing/feature that is shiny - will end up being barely used or noticed. Human brain adjusts very fast.
Most of the new tech doesn't add so much these days and you have to look at what is actually something that would make a big impact or will contribute.
up to 33 percent faster charging with a USB-C fast charging cable included in the box.
This is what I’m disappointed about - the faster charging sounds handy especially as I use watch to track sleep but having got a MagSafe duo last year sounds like I won’t get much benefits from that.In other words Apple just made every existing charging cable and dock obsolete, including its own $100 MagSafe Duo.
Would love for the watch to one day add a front camera for video calls
anything outside the iPhone 6 (first large screen) or the iPhone x (first face ID) they are always hardly upgradesApple does the bare minimum in 2021, again. Both iPhone and Apple Watch releases are hardly upgrades at all.
Agree people who wait will get the best deals and the watch is the one product you can get In mid cycle because the updates to the watch are minimum now, and deals pop through the yearI’m planning on getting this next month if there are deals on the Apple Watch over black friday
In the past, Best Buy, Amazon and Staples have done promotions where they take $50 or $60 off the $399 price
I’m glad Apple made the display larger on this year’s Apple Watch- makes using apps much easier
This will most likely the last Apple Watch I purchase until iteration 15 or so. This will only be my 2nd one, but with tax, etc. I could have been halfway to a VERY decent watch that could last a lifetime. The watch market is ridiculous right now, though, even in "entry" level luxury watches. I would like true Swiss movement.Battery life is still bad. I really don't understand this apple watch hype.
I don’t need to wear my watch to bed so it will last through the day and that’s good enough for meBattery life is still bad. I really don't understand this apple watch hype.
Exactly.. All this “iPhone 13 Pro is disappointing” well, it isn’t for me and my old iP8 and for those with even older phones. Same goes for the watches as you said. This year's review cycle has taught me that I really only want reviewers to compare previous models more than 12 months old. I don't care how the Series 7 compares to Series 6. Tell me why I, a series 3,4,5 owner should upgrade? Same for the iPhones 13. Tell me why the 2-3 year old model will be better suited upgraded.
Only Jason Snell did this in a meaningful way - https://sixcolors.com/post/2021/09/the-iphone-13-an-upgraders-guide/
Because, if I'm being more cynical....of course the series 7 isn't worth upgrading from a series 6. This isn't Apple's target anyway. They want series 3 and 4 owners to upgrade. so what's better from a series 3 to a 7? Can a professional reviewer lay that out?
I don't get those people. First off, the 13 Pro was a meaningful update from the 12 Pro. Display, cameras, battery life, modem, SoC - all good improvements that add up to a noticeablely better phone. But also, upgrading every single year and expecting massive changes is ridiculous. It's pretty rare with such mature tech that we get to see huge leaps forward anymore.Exactly.. All this “iPhone 13 Pro is disappointing” well, it isn’t for me and my old iP8 and for those with even older phones. Same goes for the watches as you said.
I have the 44mm Series 6 (WiFi only) and the battery life is great. I regularly end the day around 50% and that's after working out and using it for 12+ hours. When people complain about the Apple Watch battery life I'm a bit bemused as to me, it's excellent. I've even gone two full days of use before when I accidentally did not place it on the charger correctly.Personally, I hope that future Apple Watch upgrades remain incremental for some time to come! I have finally succumbed to temptation and am now waiting for my first ever Apple Watch to be delivered. It will replace a Garmin watch used for activity tracking and will be tested thoroughly to see if it earns its keep in the first 2 weeks. I’d love a watch with better battery life but can see the problems faced by the designers and may well have to take with a second charging cable in my rucksack when I go out on 8 hour+ hikes.
My plan is to keep it for 3 or 4 years as depreciation is quite high in the UK, even for the aluminium models.
In the meantime, I’m hoping to enjoy yet another Marvel of the Apple Ecosystem.
