Yeah.. if Apple could stop size-creeping the wristwatch like they did their phones that'd be great. My wrist isn't growing.

I don't think the size will increase this time. All the rumored larger sizes for 2024 both in the Series 10 and next-gen Ultra are EXACTLY the size you would get IF you nearly eliminated the existing black bezels on each. The Ultra won't be getting bigger than 49mm for example, it will be getting rid of its huge black bezels which will bring it from 1.8ish to 2.1ish inches of display area without changing a thing.

They might be ok just using a trademark from Cisco out the door but good luck fighting Microsoft over ‘Series X’

They'd be crazy to not call it the X. It would grab your attention more than a regular number added. It would make more people pay attention to see what has changed.

A dying battery and 5 GHz Wi-Fi support were the only things that got me to upgrade last year. With that, I was finally able to shut down the 2.4 GHz SSID for my Apple devices last year.

On a related matter, I thought the ECG sensor just didn't work well with my body/skin, as it could rarely detect when I had my finger on the crown's sensor. But it turns out it was broken on my S4 for years. Didn't know until I tried it with the S8 and it worked perfectly.
My battery is still absolutely fine for one day, but i used to be able to easily get through 2.5 days. The S5-8 mew features just don’t dp anything for me. I’d turn the AOD off to save battery anyway, the blood oxygen sensor is horribly inaccurate (as is the temperature sensor). The bigger display is largely pointless. there may be other meaningless features that i have forgotten. I just doubt my S4 will be able to last until Sep/Oct 2024.

Microsoft may say something about this… if it was Apple they’d be suing the hell out of them for using s name like they.

please please please apple stop using inches for measurements - its such a stupid metric.
Apple isn't using inches for its watch measurements. That's from the supply chain analysts and tech reporters. On Apple's website, the case sizes are all given in mm, and the display specs are given in pixels and square mm. Nowhere are inches used for the watch specs, that I can see.

There’s inaccurate information in this report. The 1st generation Apple Watch SE had the same size and pixel density as the Series 4.

Getting something so trivial wrong should question the legitimacy of the entire report.

No iPhone 9, no Apple Watch series 9.

Why call the 9th gen X one more time?

Why do Apple hate 9 so much?

The Watch Series X is rumoured for next year... 2024. The current model is the Series 8. The Series 9 is expected to come out in the Fall of this year, 2023. Next year's Apple Watch will be the Series 10... or X.

That’s even more true if they do it for the 10th-generation SE.

Oh Apple please just stop with the stupid product names.

Your naming convention is an unmitigated mess.

Please call the next next watch series  Watch 23, with watchOS 23.

You can differentiate it after this name:

 Watch 23 Ultra

 Watch 23 GPS 41mm

 Watch 23 GPS+Cellular 45mm

 Watch 23 SE

etc.

Same for all the rest of the products, for instance:

MacBook Air 22 M2 13”

macOS 22.3.1 Ventura

etc.

In all your notes, etc it would make things so much less cluttered and easier to quickly understand.

Well said! I wish they would stop the size creep as well!!

Agreed. A bigger watch is the last thing I need, I need more functionality for the existing large screen

I just picked up an Ultra last week and I'm wearing it right now. I am very happy with it. I upgraded from a series 4 and the upgrade is signifigant.

That being said, this thing doesn't need to be any bigger than it already is. I have giant man hands (I'm 6' 3" and have the provided waterworld band set on the third hole, so I'm a big guy) and it's big enough. Any bigger would make it cumbersome, even for a person my size. There's no need to make this thing any bigger.

I am very very happy with my Ultra Watch after about a week or so. It would be hard to improve on it, IMHO.
