please please please apple stop using inches for measurements - its such a stupid metric.
Here in Ireland we measure our journeys in kilometres, our weights in kilograms, our volumes in cubic centimetres (or metres) and our liquids in litres. Bizarrely, imperial measurements are still used for screen sizes here and worldwide — TVs (was looking at an 85” model last week myself), phones (typing this on a 6.1” iPhone), smartwatches, etc. but I’ve never quite understood why.

Why call the 9th gen X one more time?
If I recall correctly, the iPhone X wasn’t the 9th gen iPhone. I think it was the 12th (or joint 11th?). There was: iPhone, 3G, 3GS, 4, 4S, 5, 5S, (does 5C count), 6, 6S, 7, then 8 and X together.

Unlike with phones, I think the wrist offers much more real estate if not across then along the arm. I am a firm believer that at some point we will see the merging of watches and phones into "phatches" that will have wide curved screens and offering keyboard input, a much better Siri and so on. I am sure Apple and others are looking into that.
Why yes, the 2" x 10" model ought to be a real hit.

I’d love it if Apple focused on waiting until they have something new and (at least nearly) bug-free, instead of forcing out yearly hardware and software updates. Also, a lot of people don’t want their portables to keep getting bigger and bigger.

A design change is overdue, when i see apple watch on people’s wrist, i have no idea which generation it is. I know you don’t have to change a design that works, but we would still be at 3.5inch screens

I am going to buy the 2.13” Apple Watch Ultra so hard, I’m worried that beautiful reinforced display might crack. I’m just not sure if my Series 4 will make it until then.

2024 is looking to be an expensive year for me, unless I wait for the M4 series chip to finally switch from Intel.

Maybe they should focus on battery than display size. I want a watch to run a week without charging. Put more effort into environmental friendly products and reduce charging amounts which needs energy.

Yeah.. if Apple could stop size-creeping the wristwatch like they did their phones that'd be great. My wrist isn't growing.

If you’re Apple and you’ve run out of ideas for next years models, there’s two things you can always fall back on:

  • Bump screen size a little
  • Introduce new colours

I see we have a male Karen on our hands. You don’t have to buy it if you don’t like it. No one is forcing you. Sheesh

Every time Apple innovates, people get upset because they don’t like new things. That’s life people

I don't think they are, the main watches are the same size (apart from ultra), the screens just got larger and the bezels smaller.

Series 9 is going to be another boring update.
Ultra 2 will just get black option that was available on the old titanium model in 2021.

Series X will hopefully get a slimmer design with larger display, current chubby frame stops it from having edge to edge display.

Probably cost £150 more for sport model 😂 while everyone else offers stainless steel for under £400.

I see what you mean but I disagree. My wrist may not be growing but my eyesight is getting worse! It’s also great to be able to fit more text at the same font size.

What I want is a larger, slimmer watch (bigger viewable area, sitting less proud of my wrist). OTOH I think the watch has now grown enough that they could introduce a third, smaller, size for people with small wrists.
