Watched a Bradley wiggins documentary on Sky the other day and noticed he had one, with what looked the leather loop. Pizza express manager in the one we were in last Thursday had the same.

Finally see one other then myself. Tim Horton's Drive Thru Brampton Ontario Canada, Was a 42mm sport with Third Party Red Loop.

He got his first, I only noticed it because he was showing it to someone else. After seeing his, I ordered mine since not having seen one in person was the main thing holding me back. (There isn't an Apple Store anywhere near me.)
I doubt I would notice an Apple Watch on some random stranger in public unless they are using it for Apple Pay in front of my at the grocery story.

Lately I've been seeing more and more of them out in the wild. It's just been on sale in my country for a couple of weeks so it's quite surprising for me to already be able to count so many early adopters. Everyone I see wearing one also seems to be hyper aware of other people's wrist. It's happened quite a few times that when I spot another AW wearer we give each other the 'nod', as in: We're the same. Or maybe we aren't and I'm just weirding people out.
Haven't seen another one in the wild yet. I've used Passbook on it quite a bit whilst out and about, usually to the comment that it's the first one that whoever is serving me has seen. Not sure quite how well they've been received in the UK yet.
I've now seen about 15 as I start to look. Went to the mall of America and there were so many people looking at and trying on watches. Saw about 5 sold in 10 minutes.
