A Pebble watch meets your 1, 2 and 3. You can buy one right now if you don't care about fashionable good looks and the Apple brand. For a lot less $$$ than an Apple Watch as well...

It does 1/3 of what the Apple what does and is certainly not of high build quality and finish, so what is your point exactly?

----------

The watch in this case is fashion or function.

It is both, design people want to be associated with in public is fashion, and that's been one of the major point of Apple for more than 25 years or they'd be producing beige box like everyone else. The main difference is here you actually wear the design instead of plopping it in your house.

Women will be the #1 consumer of the watch.

Generally, men carry their phones in their pockets. Women on the other hand, often carry their phones in their purse. It will be very convieient for them to have a wearable that they can check or have messages on, instead of having to dive into a purse every now and again.

Apple has yet another great hit on its hands. And that totally drives the crazies nuts. Even if Samsung could buy this kind of publicity (it can't), it wouldn't know just what to buy. It's got no class, no soul. Apple has earned its success and repute with its stellar production. Can't wait for the 16th.

Hey Jony

I think you have it backwards. Samsung is the one with the hit because theirs has something you forgot to add: A GSM radio.

This doesn't seem right. The Apple Watch with the stainless steel bezel appears to be the entry-level product. The lighter Apple Watch Sport with the aluminum bezel seems to be set up at midlevel pricing.

It's completely obvious that the Sport is the entry level model.

how did she make the cover, to me, she doesn't look pretty and she looks like a guy

Vogue is not about "pretty."

I was going to hold back my opinion as it was gonna be offtopic but as you have already started it!

I live in Toronto and honestly I see much prettier looking young asian ladies than the model on this cover. I think she is fine looking but they can find much unique/prettier faces - tallness does not have to be their achilles hill...

I really don't think the fashion industry is based on ordinary/pretty-girl-next-door kind of women. Those "pretty faces" are boring and would never make it to the cover of any fashion magazine. Being easy on the eyes is never enough for the industry, they are constantly looking for someone unique, edgy, and can deliver the attitude and images that the designers put in their clothes. Personally, I think Liu Wen is a beautiful model and I love the spread.

I :apple: you!!! (Sorry Macrumors doesn't have a heart symbol)

That's hot. Somehow I don't think I will look that hot with my watch :)

The vogue cover and fashion direction made me register here ... :) (long time apple user).

No more Gucci, Armani, Chanel & YSL ... it's now Apple on the front cover of the Vogue! Very interesting move ... ! The photos are well done and draw the attention to the watch! I personally love the shots.

Will I be wearing Apple clothes one day? Mhhh ...

Wearing :apple: clothes while driving an :apple: car, that will be winning life everyday in style.

:apple: watch is the only smart watch that looks good on women. Samsung also hired a fashion model for their Gear watch, but it looks nowhere near as good.

Lol just one week ago everybody was hating the design, now that you see it in some Chinese magazine you're all crazy about it.

Really? Have you seen how's Johnny Ive dressing lately? :D

Lol. But in that cover pose, the watch wouldn't be activated. False advertising peeps.

Post your photo please.
Looks are subjective, even with fashion models. I don't see anything special, but I'm not in fashion so what do I know...
If she sells the watch in China, then that's all that matters. :apple:

Notice, that model is not as thin as the chinese one (which is fine boned to say the least) and yet, the Samsung watch looks much bigger on her wrist. That says it all.

Nice shot ... but I agree ... the watch does not look as good. Maybe it's just too big. The Moto watch is also very thick (looking at all the discussion to build all the devices thinner ... it makes sense in the end.)

lol @ Apple watch to be featured in fashion magazines...

Now, i've seen everything....

Maybe the new Mac trashcan should be featured too ..

I'll believe Apple is in fashion if all their products go over.... if their serious why not ? Their entire Mac line is just as good "from Johny's eyes anyway" :p and lets bring the iPhone 6 in too while we're at it

...All with Tim Cook doing the turn on the cat walk :)

The Sport Watch is made from cheaper materials so the assumption is it will be the entry level model.

Apple has indicated that the Apple Watch will start at a price of $350, but that is for the most basic Apple Watch Sport models that come in aluminum cases, without all the "premium materials" available for the Apple Watch in steel or the Apple Watch Edition in gold.
