again its the same size than 45mm with more rounded corners so kinda smaller, why do people saying its bigger?
Because it looks bigger. The numbers on the screen to input passcode are larger. Maybe the fonts are larger?

According to Apple's drawings:
On the Ultra, the distance from the "active area" to edge of glass is 2.0 mm, and the distance from the edge of glass to edge of watch is 3.0 mm, for a total edge distance of 5.0
You keep saying this but I think you have something messed up somewhere. Even the MaxTech video clearly shows greater screen real estate when both text sizes are set the same:

I have the alpine loop band. It seems like all the marketing shows it where the strap pulls away from you to snap on the underside, and everyone here is wearing it that way too.

This is the opposite of how the sport loop is worn, and so I was wearing the strap backwards for the last few days.

Why it that? It seems weird for me to wear it "regular".

My arm doesn't rotate towards me (not sure I've seen anyone that does), so there's no other option but to have the hook on the side towards me, roll my arm away from me, and then attach underneath.

The screen is more responsive than Series watches and it glides so smoothly!! I love it! The 49mm is big and beautiful. It's like having a baby iPad on my risk!
From one cool breeze to another, I love this comparison! It is what I've always wanted :)

There is no question that it's a larger visible area on the screen compared to my old one. I'm not counting bezels - the display itself is larger.
I have not measured but my eyes do not deceive me. It is a bigger display. I have worn Apple watches since the beginning and the Ultra is more display.

if you wear a series 7/8 45mm and the ultra on the same hand and open a photo or txt etc and have it at the same settings you cant notice any bigger but the series 7/8 shows more of the same photo on the edges and text is cut on the ultra. I do think its an illusion that the case and bezel is bigger it makes the screen feel bigger but side by side is different

Swiping on the ultra has been a better experience from the s7 for me. With watch screens being inherently small, the extra 23 square mm of usable screen with the bezel flattened out makes for a good swiping surface for me. Having the tactical titanium rim just feels right when swiping. I am looking forward to wearing this watch and seeing what other impressions I have. I think we have beat the screen thing like a dead horse. 💀 moving on. When it gets cold outside, and I have gloves on, I wonder how it will do. Small but noticeable impressions well received. We should make a thread that reads “Who is Keeping the AWU!” Lol 😆 y’all are great 👍

My latest Series before buying Ultra was Series 6.

I also think it is
Again it’s not. It is a bigger display.
have you had both on your wrist and compared both, im sure you haven't open the same photo on both and see if its bigger, I know you wanna believe it is but its not, I even measured the apps and compared side by side and its exactly the same but like ive said and no one can argue with is you loose text because its more round

I can clearly see the AWU is showing more relevance. The text bubble on the non ultra is missing the top 🔝 you don’t see it😳 we are talking “a little bigger on the AWU” it’s not the the AWU is a massive difference. I think you may get lost in the design differences. We are splitting hairs at this point (though noticeable) yes, the AWU indeed has a larger display covered in gorgeous sapphire wrapped in beautiful space grade titanium. It is what it is man.

I get that and appreciate that, yes its a hair line taller, but the issue that really bothered me was the fact it cuts the text in the name because of the harsher corners, that's noticeable, I so wanted a bigger display I feel they could of made it bigger if they had thinner bezels, but sorry if I sound annoying it just bothers me, I had them both on for about 2 hours and tested everything and just couldn't enjoy it, when apple said the biggest display I had high hope, but oh well, love my series 7 still :) the more edge to edge display feels more modern

managed to pick mine up tonight from the office.

First impression is that I love the form factor and how it sits on my wrist. Very impressed with the screen brightness and perception to me is that it’s larger (even though it measures pretty much the same as S7/8)

I’m not in love with the Alpine loop from first impression. I much prefer the feel of my old sport loops. I have ordered the 3 trail loops but November delivery. I also have the Ocean band to try.

I’m not an Ultra athlete I just really like the idea of an alternative form and a break from the regular AW size and shape.

Overall very impressed !!!! 😃
I am not an ultra athlete either but the Battery life is something I have wanted in an Apple Watch for “ever” lol. It will be nice to not have to charge everyday, and tracking my runs and sleep is something I want to be able to do easier without having to find a charger every day. It’s nice to wake up after 24 hours and still have enough juice to make it through the next day without having to sacrifice any watch functionality.

So you swapped to the green loop alpine loop? managed to get one with the L green loop from JB, supposed to be overnight delivery, I have the green S7 but am using a blue UAG band, so can sell it with the original band hopefully.
I went to an Apple Store on Sunday and they wouldn't let me just change my size S green alpine loop to a size M. So I just returned the whole watch combo.

Now just using my S7 until Apple online has stock. Been checking non stop the last 2 days but nothing for pick up :(

I know you love your s7, I know my friend. But it’s not because it has a bigger screen. it’s because of the design. I get it, apple has done well with the pebble design, it’s a smooth looking watch. What I love about the AWU is I could slam it into a rock while hiking and it will take that brute force And keep on keeping on. That’s what I loved about my G-shocks. The pebble would be shattered. I think there is allot of us G-shock people that have been waiting to long for a watch like this, but it’s not because of the extra screen, it’s because of the design. Thats the big difference. The screen is more of an irrelevant factor, and to some, having a 46mm sized screen feels like a 45mm sized screen as presented by a few, and with watch screens being so small, it just isn’t enough of a difference. I do think Apple let people down if they thought the screen was going to have another 1.5mm on the already 1mm larger screen. bBut you begin to loose the G-shock factor and that is paramount. I really hope the screen doesn’t get to much larger as it is the sweet spot for a watch IMO perfect for what it is. Enjoy the s7, it’s a very nice watch👍🍺

Are you going to get the same colour but in medium alpine band when available? What made change your mind about the small Alpine band?

I'd be happy to get the green or orange in medium.

The fit was fine but every time I take off the watch, the G-hook clasp would band against the watch. It was also a tight squeeze to fit my hand through.

Also when I wear the watch, the clasp is at the bottom centre of my wrist and will hit against the table or MacBook keyboard.

Yeah I noticed it was a tight squeeze when I tried the small as well in the store. I also noticed that the clasp was at the bottom. I think we have similar size wrist mine is about 157mm. i think when I order I will get a medium as they had one in the store that I tried and it was much easier to put on and take off.
