I’m on the 7th hook from the end of the band like this photo and you can make it looser for another 5 or 6 hooks. Is there more loops to make the band looser? Or have you maxed out on the looseness? My wrists are the same 155 and want to know if the small alpine bands are the correct size?
There's not much of a lip on that Titanium, which is a shame. Apple is really paying lip service to it being much more protective. You may be right, they may slim down the bezel to increase the screen size, but the current Ultra should absolutely reduce protect the glass.
Taking the photos from this thread, it’s clear to see on the non-ultra model that the glass is more exposed whereas on the ultra it’s protected by titanium. I don’t see how that wouldn’t increase protection of the glass.
yesThe Ultra is not for me, but I think my dad will love this watch. He uses the regular series 6 I got him every single day, he loves it. I'm sure he'll love this one even more.😄
Will the 45mm sport bands work well with the Ultra? He's got a few.
whats your wrist size?So I returned the orange alpine loop as I thought it was too expensive for what it is.
I picked up the midnight ocean band and it’s so much nicer than Apple’s promotional pics. Feels good quality and nicer than the alpine loop!
A watch bezel is the metal ring supporting the crystal. The bezel on the display is the mounting of the display. The display is the panel of pixels which may itself have an inactive border. But, as I said, people can use whatever language they choose as long as it's clear. The bezel, in terms of any electronic display (TVs, monitors, phones, watches, etc), has always been the empty black space between the screen pixels and the frame. What you’re actually calling the bezel should be called the frame or case edges.
I’m also in the camp that thinks they’ll reduce the bezel eventually, basically every device with bezels goes in that direction. And considering how big they are on the Ultra, Apple definitely has the capability to do it without increasing the frame size. My guess is they didn’t for this release to leave it as an “upgrade” for next release, or maybe they just ran out of time to reduce them considering how much that would effect (battery, UI, etc).
Yeah to be honest and now having had the Alpine green loop in my hands, I think we have been "had" a little on the "Ultra" bands. Once you get past the no titanium bit, the regular loop bands look better.I have 155mm wrist size but am considering exchanging my medium alpine loop to a large one. The G hook ends up in the centre of my wrist (like OP), so when I'm typing the hook grinds against the palm rest on my macbook... Aluminium is probably going to lose against titanium, don't want a stupid little hook to ruin the $$$$$ laptop lol
The alpine loop definitely isn’t more premium than a standard sport loop. Same probably goes for the trail loop which no one seems to have.Yeah to be honest and now having had the Alpine green loop in my hands, I think we have been "had" a little on the "Ultra" bands. Once you get past the no titanium bit, the regular loop bands look better.
What size Alpine Loop did you get? Large? I have a ~180mm wrist and I'm wondering if I should go for the Medium or the Large. Don't want excess material but I also don't want to run out of it, either...View attachment 2076421
Super happy with mine. I have a 185mm - 190mm wrist depending on how I want the fit. A 9 or a 10 in the Solo sizes.
Love it, but to be honest I wouldn't want it any bigger on my wrist. If I was < 185mm I might hang out for Apple to make something smaller.
Yeah it's also quite fiddly to put on/off and adjust the hook on the Alpine loopYeah to be honest and now having had the Alpine green loop in my hands, I think we have been "had" a little on the "Ultra" bands. Once you get past the no titanium bit, the regular loop bands look better.
Large, and it still ain't large enough to get the buckle all the way clear of the flat part of the underside of my wrist. What size Alpine Loop did you get? Large? I have a ~180mm wrist and I'm wondering if I should go for the Medium or the Large. Don't want excess material but I also don't want to run out of it, either...
Ahhhh, this is a great point of consideration. Maybe I do want to be at the smaller edge of the range.I have 155mm wrist size but am considering exchanging my medium alpine loop to a large one. The G hook ends up in the centre of my wrist (like OP), so when I'm typing the hook grinds against the palm rest on my macbook... I quite like the Alpine loop and won't be sending my green one back. The titanium does look good and matches the watch perfectly. And if you angle the hook a little, it goes on relatively easy with a tiny bit of practice.Yeah it's also quite fiddly to put on/off and adjust the hook on the Alpine loop
