It’s more detailed with the ridges and holes and it feels more premium in the hands. For those with Ocean Bands, how are you liking them compared to the prior sport bands and/or Nike bands?

Apple specs always showed that the display area is only 1.5% bigger.just got it and the screen isn't any bigger at all from series 7 I have measured exactly, that's disappointed I wanted a bigger screen, the bezel and case is bigger but the screen doesn't look any bigger
its a shame they couldn't make the screen bigger slim the bezels down, then I would be all over itApple specs always showed that the display area is only 1.5% bigger.
The 49mm is only the case size and like you said the difference is taken up by the bezels.
Then it would be a series 8 49mm.its a shame they couldn't make the screen bigger slim the bezels down, then I would be all over it
Its definitely worth saying that if you're just after a larger Apple Watch with a bigger screen and better battery life, this isn't it.Then it would be a series 8 49mm.
This watch is build for athletes, hikers, divers

I know but I didn’t think in person it would look odd, I don’t like the fact the bezel and case are so big it makes the screen look even smaller, I’m returning it and sticking with series 7 it’s very dissatisfying, they could of made the screen bigger they even said the biggest screen ever in a watch and it’s so small you can’t notice itYou already knew that though
Series 8 v Series 0 on the right? 😜I took pics of the contour face specifically to show this. Here you go. View attachment 2076499
Exactly. The bezel, in terms of any electronic display (TVs, monitors, phones, watches, etc), has always been the empty black space between the screen pixels and the frame. What you’re actually calling the bezel should be called the frame or case edges.
I’m also in the camp that thinks they’ll reduce the bezel eventually, basically every device with bezels goes in that direction. And considering how big they are on the Ultra, Apple definitely has the capability to do it without increasing the frame size. My guess is they didn’t for this release to leave it as an “upgrade” for next release, or maybe they just ran out of time to reduce them considering how much that would effect (battery, UI, etc).
Probably at least 5 or 6. Anymore you can’t fold the band physically to hook onto the slots. How many hooks do you have left for loosening adjustment on your small band?
That’s the main reason I waited. I am on a Series 7 45mm and once i realized the screens were going to be the same size I decided to wait a year or two when you know they will make the screen bigger. I‘ve been wanting a bigger Apple Watch for years for both size and screen and it seems they got the physical size bigger this year. Have to wait a year or two for a bigger screen.just got it and the screen isn't any bigger at all from series 7 I have measured exactly, that's disappointed I wanted a bigger screen, the bezel and case is bigger but the screen doesn't look any bigger
So, my only question to Ultra owners is whether there is any real estate gained on the watch face over the Series 7/8?
I keep reading the Ultra screen is no bigger than the 7/8. On the other hand, I read reviews that say that texting and even using the calculator is much easier to use on the Ultra? Did Apple perhaps just do some tweaking on the pixels?
