Never thought I was going to end up with a titanium bike and a titanium watch in the same year

As much as I am loving my Ultra, the watch only offers so much. I feel this Ultra/SSS S7 combo will fit the bill for me until next Sept.

The Ultra is the Tudor Pelagos of Apple Watches. Light titanium, rugged, and a durable tool watch.
The silver stainless steel is pure class. Slim, sleek, and can be dressed up and down. The OP of Apple Watches.

Wrist size 150mm should i get the small or medium alpine loop?

If i get the medium will i need to hook on the last spot?

I can’t say for sure but I think that it would be at the last spot or close to there. My wrist is 175 and on a medium strap I have about 5-6 spots left depending on how tight I make the band.

I really don't get having to buy the Watch with a particular band, considering the way it's packaged. It's just a cheap outer box with the two actually products, separate, inside.

So surprising, considering how it might impact sales. There has GOT to be a reason they are doing this, but it's beyond me.

"Ultra" packaging experience. First model like this, they really want to roll out the red carpet for it.

What was the box for the Edition series? I bet it was nicer as well?

Both are Clockology. The Ultra inspired me to start looking at active apps since the apple faces are uninspiring. I've not really noticed much difference in batter life on the ultra. You might on an S6 or earlier.

Can you tell which of these you use, I’m not sure what the differences are

If we are talking different style bands, then no, they won't do that. If we are talking the same band but a different size, I don't know. My assumption is that it's the same policy.

Which is ridiculous by the way. Apple stores should have a system where you can exchange the band that came with the watch for something else if you desire without having to do a return of the watch itself.

Last year, I was told by Apple phone support that the store could swap bands without returning the watch, but I tried a few stores locally and none said they could do it. I think the reason is that the watch and band have a single SKU, as someone said earlier.

I suggested doing a no-receipt return (which apparently is an actual store procedure), but no one wanted to go down that path to swap bands.

I'm so sorry. This is such a stupid policy.

The solution for the stores is so easy. Allow customers to exchange the band that came with their watches if desired. Then simply notate the new band in say a notes section that is tied with the Watch's serial number. Having to return the Watch itself is so stupid.

I think it would be even easier to simply assign individual SKUs to the watches and the bands, rather than having a specific SKU for a specific combination. I think you'd probably have to reconfigure the online store front end a bit so that people ordered/purchased separate SKUs, but that can't be hard at all.

They literally should just stop forcing people to tie the Watch to a band purchase. Many people are loyal owners who are replacing or updating a Watch and don’t need a new band.

At minimum, the bundle should be 2 SKUs to make bands a separate issue that can be fixed.

And further proof, when you repair your watch, they take the watch without the band, and provide you a replacement without a band. So they do understand the need to separate the watch from the band...

If you ever used Apple’s sport band with 44mm/45mm series watch before, you have the answer.

I have the medium alpine on my ultra. I use the same exact holes as I used on the 45mm series 7 with silicone sports band.

Both on the sport band and medium alpine band, I normally use the third hole, and the second hole only when I need a really tight fit (running).

Not sure if this is just a coincidence, however, I had more difficulty inserting bands with rubberized ends compared to those with metallic or plastic inserts.

I’m 150mm. I initially had a small and then got a medium. Either will work just fine, but I like the medium better. It’s easier to put the watch on and I like the positioning of the hook better. It won’t be on the last hole. If our wrists are the same, it’ll be like three holes down.
