Mine seems to be on track for Friday Delivery - I am a little bit anxious it will fit my wrist

The all-new Apple Watch Ultra launches this Friday, but some customers who ordered the watch have seen their estimated delivery date pushed back by Apple. It's unclear how many customers are affected or what the reason for the delays is.

MacRumors has received emails from multiple readers with orders that have been delayed in the United States. In one case, an order estimated for delivery by September 29 is now expected to arrive by October 12, while another order with a September 29 to October 6 estimated delivery range was pushed back to October 4 to October 11.

Priced at $799, the Apple Watch Ultra has been available to pre-order since September 9. While not reflected on Apple's website yet, some orders have been marked as shipped via UPS's tracking tool, with U.S. shipments passing through Anchorage, Alaska and Louisville, Kentucky as usual on their way to their final destinations.

All configurations of the Apple Watch Ultra include a natural-colored titanium case and cellular connectivity. The only customizable aspect is the band, with options including the Alpine Loop, Trail Loop, and Ocean Band in three colors each.

Inspired by the "most extreme activities" like hiking and scuba diving, the Apple Watch Ultra features a rugged design with a 49mm titanium case, a larger display with a flat sapphire crystal cover, new bands designed for the outdoors, water resistance up to a depth of 100 meters, a customizable bright orange "Action" button, up to 60 hours of battery life with an upcoming low power mode, dual-frequency GPS support, and more.

100 meters?

Please check that. Recreational scuba is like 90 feet. I thought they said Apple Watch ultra does 120 feet and has some certification acronym.

I could be mistaken as well.

My White Ocean landed in Louisville tonight. Seems on track to be delivered by Friday if not early.

Well what do you expect? If you want something truly new, the Ultra is the only way to go.

Plus it’s a better deal than the past Titanium Edition. If you have $800 to spend to buy a smartwatch, it’s the best purchase (instead of opting for Stainless Steel S8).

My order for the 44mm SE says delivers Sep 21st (Today). It hasn’t been picked up by the shipping carrier so I don’t see that happening.

Well dang I was hoping to possibly pick up an alpine strap I store on Friday if they get any in but knowing there’s a delay now that probably won’t happen
There were delays on the 14s too, but I was able to grab 2 (from separate Apple stores) on launch day. I wouldn’t give up hope just yet

You don't have to be all that "hardcore" to appreciate the Ultra.

I run 2-4 times a week. I started running at age 52 and I'm turning 60 on Sunday. I'm currently using a Series 5 and figured it would be a '9' before I'd replace it since my battery life is "ok" and there are a few more rumored health sensors that might make the next model (like blood glucose).

So it's fair to say I'm still "satisfied" with what I have and, as much as I might like to upgrade to an '8', the justification would be a bit flimsy.

The Ultra? Now we're talking about battery life that makes sleep tracking possible. Battery life where you're not worried about missing an overnight charge because you're on a plane or otherwise traveling. Yeah, I like the bigger, brighter screen - and that extra button could make all the difference in the world if developers get some good ideas (I'm thinking lap counters during runs). The Ultra is tempting - but I'll probably stick to my plans and wait for next year. Unless something unfortunate should happen to my Series 5. Would be a shame if it did... :)

Curious to see availability in stores Friday, if any. But I’m gonna check and pic one up just cause if there is one available.

If not, I can wait. Just hope those people that were on the ball and ordered early get theirs on the dates they were initially given.
I went on the Best Buy website yesterday around 5 PM and ordered one for delivery this Friday. They appeared to have most options available. They are defaulting to delivery on Monday, but you can pay an extra $12 for delivery this Friday. Many of the cell phone providers should also have inventory.

Oh, wow. Nice! I wouldn’t have thought to check there. Thanks!

"That larger, powerfully lit screen can show six lines of data versus five lines while using Apple's Workout app."

Going to love the bigger and more information rich Ultra watch arriving for me this Friday.

Honestly,

People saying its not bigger need to say things like "its not that much bigger" and yet that small amount it is bigger, allows for more information to be on the screen which is what I want in a bigger screen.
