My SE doesn’t run watchOS 11, so I’m excited for the announcement. If it’s not a huge redesign, I’ll get a used series 8 or something. Fortunately (or unfortunately) the watches depreciate a lot for obvious reasons.

What are you talking about? There is a cellular version of the AW. I can leave my phone at home and still accept calls/messages/w/e.
Your phone HAS to be on and connected to a cellphone tower, if you turn it off, it won’t work even with cellular.

So what is the whole "Glowtime" thing about? Means nothing to me.
The tagline and poster for the event refer to the UI and color palette Apple uses to signify when you're interacting with Apple Intelligence in iOS and macOS.

The blue+yellow+purple+magenta "glow" is always present whenever you use AI on your AI capable Apple devices:

About the event: "Glowtime" is a play on the terms "showtime" and "glow".

So, while WWDC was the event where we got introduced to Apple's AI, now it is "showtime", meaning that we actually get all the products and the OS that uses AI.

If you think in Gen Z and Alpha slang, two of Apple's most iPhone-hungry demographics, I'm also pretty sure Apple wants us to consider everything we get at this event as Siri/iOS/iPhone's big "(AI) glow-up*" moment, going from having an infamously bad voice-assistant, Siri, to now (maybe) having one of the best and most well-integrated voice assistants and OS-wide AI, Siri running on Apple Intelligence.

I speculate that AI on iPhones 16 will also see your iPhone light up and assist you beyond just sending you push notifications, maybe straight up talking to you like it's your PA calling you or something. Or maybe you press the Action Button and (AI)Siri is immediately talking to you, without any delay.
I'm not betting on that. But that would have your iPhone quite literally "glowing" "up" to assist you.

This event will be iPhone's big transformation from smartphone to an "intelligent" smartphone.

No it does not. My daughter has had an SE ever since they removed the tethering requirement when the 7 was released. I believe that was Watch OS 8? She never had a phone until recently.

i hope they will make it Qi2 compatible, maybe thats why the watches are rumored to become bigger? Or they could add a alignment magnet in the watch bands?

Yes, that is precisely what I just did. I promise.
Without the watch connected to your WiFi in the house, like you are truly Connected to the cellular network on the other side of world?

When my iPhone was stolen, my apple watch and iPad that rely on cellular where rendered useless, I couldn’t make or receive incoming calls on both devices because the thief turned off my phone and I was in the middle of flying. This was an issue whenever I was trying to get a 2FA code that used my phone number, because I always used my Apple Watch to receive, but the texts or calls never went through. This was recent, so I was wondering. I got my phone back eventually, because I could track it but still. When my devices were on a different cellphone tower, I could only use my FaceTime Apple ID on WiFi, despite my Apple Watch and iPad Pro being cellular.

If it is the Apple Watch X, it must come with a notch:

The watch with a notch.

You can wear it in the house
You can wear it with a mouse

you can wear it here or there
you can wear it anywhere

So the first time I did it I was connected to Wi-Fi, so I can see where that might not be legit. However, just turned my phone off, disabled Wi-Fi on the phone and made a call. See attached.

Only thing that would get me into a new watch at this point would be some cool materials/colors. Bring back black titanium or white ceramic. My prediction is we will not hear the words midnight/starlight at this event at all.

I think "It's glowtime" is referring to mostly the Apple Watch. New plastic colors for the SE and additional health features.
The AI-enhanced Siri in iOS 18 now produces a multicolor glow around the edge of the screen to show when it's active. Given that the invite graphic uses the same colors and glow pattern it's likely to signify the new iPhone and launch of iOS 18.

I hope they fixed it because I did not want to go through that again, the most important factor being was receiving text messages that required my number to help reset my password, without my phone it was impossible so we shall see. I truly hope they improved them this round and make them truly cellular without being tethered to the iPhone.

I mean on Apple’s defense, after turning on Lost mode, apple devices become paperweights and the culprits did reach out asking for a fee to return it back LOL.

What model did this happen with? I'm still on S6.
