Sure, and Apple also invest money for Sharp LCD development plant, that will make Samsung and Motorola infringe another patent by using that very same display on their future phones/tablets
And did Samsung/Moto invent GSM baseband? Or WiFi on mobile phones? Or capacitive touch screen?
I was talking about great idea and innovation, in which Apple often come with those first.
Apple found many better way to do things, and often others just following Apple on the same direction claiming things are their own idea, shamelessly.
I am a professional software engineer with a very good grasp of technology and a thirty year history with computers. Was just reminiscing at the IMSAI 8080 website about one of the very first computers I ever used.
I volunteer and mentor youths with developmental disability. I am actively involved in promoting the game of Go in the United States while I try to improve my own skills.

Anyone that does not understand that the iPhone was and is an innovative contribution to telephony, lives in his or her own RDF. Anyone that does not recognize that regardless of whatever innovations it may have itself came up with Android copied iOS is misinformed. I personally believe that Eric Schmidt used his position on Apple's board to do so.

Her you are lying or ^you are ignorant. Android is NOT a copy of iOS and even Steve Jobs never accused Schmidt of stealing anything or using his position to do so.
When you can show a fact about your claims, came here. Until that, you're only making false claims. Perhaps because you're a blindly and irrational follower of a brand or because you ignore the facts

But I'll tell you when the Apple community was friendly:
It was before the iPod took the digital audio player industry and dropped a massive turd on it. Ever since, Apple's success has been a breeding ground for the zealots. I complained back then about this phenomena and I called it *dead on*. Hell, I even made some projects for my graphic design classes in college mocking the sheep-like mindset of the public. It didnt matter if there were superior products, it only mattered that apple's pretty logo was on a device for people to sport. And the same mentality happens today with the iPhone. The general public doesnt know better. Theyve been fooled with apple's great and overwhelming advertising, so much so that joe schmoe off the street has no clue what android is, or windows phone, or symbian, or BB OS, or anything else, to them its just 'yeah, iPhone! everyone has one, it must be good!'
If at any point someone points out the flaws in iPhone (which there are many) and the benefits of Android, they are quickly denied. But vice versa, they are IMMEDIATELY glorified.
Rational thinking and logical criticisms have NO place in the mind of a brainwashed drone that is in love with a LOGO.
Steve Jobs position was that Android was a stolen product and he would do everything he could to destroy it. Get your facts straight. Android was a copy of iOS...but if DroidBois keep saying it wasn't one day it might be true.
Before the iPad came out, the tablet PC cookie-cutter was a convertible laptop running Windows. These tablet PCs had all the peripherals and drives of typical laptops-DVD drive, serial port, etc. That's what 95% of tablets looked like. If you remember, when the iPad was announced, the HP Slate was its main contender. A few months prior, HP and Microsoft took the stage together to announce the Slate, which was supposed to be pre-empt the then-rumored Apple tablet. At the time, everyone expected Apple's tablet to be a touchscreen Mac.
Even when the iPad came out, many people panned it for being a "giant iPod touch." Very few people bothered to see it for what it was-a tablet with a touch-friendly UI.
It's only after the success of the iPad that competitors realized that maybe a touch-friendly UI was the way to go after all. But that was only after they saw the iPad succeed. Apple took the risks of saying no to the cookie-cutter and doing what they felt was right. Competitors didn't take those risks. Apple did.
You are the one that keeps denigrating OUR way of thinking. Why do you find a need to diminish us? Is that how you feel better about yourself? If you don't like Apple "fanbois" why are you at an Apple rumor site? That was the point of my OP.

As a side note, I'm equally combative in the desktop OS position. I highly favour OS X, so don't think I 'hate apple' I rarely back OS X because I don't feel the need to; its not broken, and I back it with my wallet, hence all the Macintoshes ive bought.
I give PROPER criticism where its due to both sides. No fanboyism here. (I took my HTC and flashed it with a different ROM. Why? because it was bloated.)

The Mac vs PC ads were mocking Windows. Windows is an operating system that runs computers, made by Microsoft Corporation. It is not "people".
The Samsung ad mocked people, specifically those that stand in line to be among the first to buy iPhones.
Your comments also mock people, specific ones in this thread. (which is a forum offense, btw)
The pot/kettle phrase is used when things are deemed identical. Mocking people and mocking Windows is not identical. Your post was incorrect.
Well it is pretty clear you have never used Android at all, Android is a far from a copy of iOS. I question if you have any ability to think for yourself as you seem to just be following Steve Jobs.

Sorry, I'll criticize Apple's shortcomings until they change their ways, THEN I'll buy an iPhone.
My hatred is limited to companies that do wrong. I have no hatred for their supporters or anyone on this site. Lately, there has been a lot of hatred of people that dig Apple. Apple produces products that make our life better. iPod is(was) cool! The iPhone magic. The iPad hardly leaves my side.
I love my Samsung 56" DLP...but the company just insulted me with an ad touting their products. I'm supposed to like that?
