I like this, Apple then go and steal ideas from Android

The keynote from march showed Apple stole ideas not just from Android:

Android notification? iOS notifications.
Blackberry Messenger? iMessage.
Google Cloud? iCloud.

Selective arguments don't help the apple community AT ALL.

Perhaps if both sides bothered you, and not just those supporting Apple, you'd have fewer people annoyed by your posts. On a once pro-Apple website.

Perhaps because you think this is not a pro Apple site you don't read the post where I answer anti Apple wrong claims.

How do I call you two Geniuses out as trolls without getting voted off the island?
Easy ignore the trolls and they go away. Feed them or even recognise them in any way gives them the attention they want. In short, just totally ignore them.

What would you rather have me do? Ditch my current phone, buy an iPhone and against my will go off on a banter of how its the jesus phone, when in reality its not?

Sorry, I'll criticize Apple's shortcomings until they change their ways, THEN I'll buy an iPhone.

If you read or re-read my post, what I suggest you do is go somewhere that matches your joy and not your dislikes. You don't like Apple. Go somewhere you DO like... and as far as I'm concerned, please DON'T buy an iPhone.

When was that? Cuz the articles i posted are from nearly 6 years ago.

But I'll tell you when the Apple community was friendly:

It was before the iPod took the digital audio player industry and dropped a massive turd on it. Ever since, Apple's success has been a breeding ground for the zealots. I complained back then about this phenomena and I called it *dead on*. Hell, I even made some projects for my graphic design classes in college mocking the sheep-like mindset of the public. It didnt matter if there were superior products, it only mattered that apple's pretty logo was on a device for people to sport. And the same mentality happens today with the iPhone. The general public doesnt know better. Theyve been fooled with apple's great and overwhelming advertising, so much so that joe schmoe off the street has no clue what android is, or windows phone, or symbian, or BB OS, or anything else, to them its just 'yeah, iPhone! everyone has one, it must be good!'

If at any point someone points out the flaws in iPhone (which there are many) and the benefits of Android, they are quickly denied. But vice versa, they are IMMEDIATELY glorified.

Rational thinking and logical criticisms have NO place in the mind of a brainwashed drone that is in love with a LOGO.
Please. There is just as much in reverse here, now. Hover your mouse over my name, cire's, and yours. See the member numbers in the URL link? Hundreds of thousands of crazed anti-Apple people have joined, esp since the iPhone came out. Denying that suggests brainwashing, also.

Oh I see where you got confused, when I was talking about not telling the difference that was between the ipad and the Galaxy tab not the adverts.
Lying to yourself?

I'll have to watch for those.

LOL, youre going to tell me where I can post? I hate to break it to you, but I've got 7 macs in my house and I'm not moving ANYWHERE regardless of how you feel.

You do realize that macrumors forums cater to MORE than just apple phones or tablets. Scroll down through the forum categories and you'll see apple sells a few other products which I have plenty of.

And dont worry, I wont be buying an iPhone anytime soon, theyre just too gosh-darn limiting ;)

I know the definition. There were tablets before the iPad came out. iPad was not innovative. There were touch screen phones before the iPhone came out, not innovative.

They're just good with advertising.

So wait...

If Apple didn't innovate with the iPad... then neither did Samsung with the Galaxy Tab.

If Apple didn't innovate with the iPhone... then neither did Google with Android nor the OEMs making Android phones.

If you're not gonna give Apple much credit... then you can't give ANY credit to those that followed.

And.... are we still on the "Apple is only good at advertising" bandwagon?

Advertising is something that any company can do. You hire a company, they produce a commercial, etc.

But you just gave Apple a big compliment... basically you're saying Apple makes better commercials than the other guys.

The difference is... Apple has the products to back it up. You can't survive on marketing alone...

You seem to imply that Apple somehow cheated their way to success. No. They earned every ounce of it.

Show me tablets that looked like the iPad before the iPad came out.

Think back to summer of 2009 when rumors about Apple's tablet were heating up. Everyone was expecting a touchscreen Mac. Microsoft and HP took the stage together to announce the HP Slate. A few months later, along came the iPad.

Many people laughed at it, calling it a "giant iPod touch." They failed to realize it for what it was-a tablet with a touch-friendly UI. People expected the iPad to fail spectacularly. The HP Slate was expected to destroy the iPad. In fact, in the summer of 2010, there was an exhibition featuring several Windows 7 tablets. None of them did well. In the latter part of 2010, we saw the Galaxy Tab 7-inch tablet as well as a few others, even though Andy Rubin himself said Android was not ready for tablets.

Face it. Apple took the risks of defying industry norms. Everyone expected a touchscreen Mac and Apple came out with the iPad. The fact is that everyone else followed. Android 3.0 tablets came to the market a year after the iPad. WebOS tablets came out just a few months ago. The PlayBook was announced 10 months after the iPad. They were reacting to the iPad. Why do they always have to react?

First, I haven't told you to do anything. I am suggesting that your mental health might be improved if you didn't read articles that seem to infuriate you. Skip the iOS stuff. You'll be happier. Viewing other people as idiots is demeaning to yourself and really pulls you down psychically.

You seem to like to diminish people. In my experience strong people build people up. I have this conversation frequently with one of the kids I mentor.

There where some like the Electrovaya, the Knightridder, the Crunchpad.

Event the HP Slate looked like the iPad.

And that there were tablet looking like the iPad before doesn't means that Apple did copy or that Apple didn't innovate with it

The anti-iOS crowd sounds identical to the anti-Mac, pro-PC crowd. I just had a major victory with my biggest Windows rival. He just bought a Mac and is now developing for iOS. He figures that's where the App Dollars are. :D

Notifications? Somebody missed on SBSettings?
iMessage? BBM - you mean like a chat client that is proprietary?
iCloud is totally different from Google Cloud. Would love to hear how does this even make a point.

The App Dollars are in Android, unfortunately. 42% market share for android, 28% market share for iOS.

Mind you, i dislike iOS as much as I like Mac OS X. Youre talking to someone who uses a mac for *real* work.

I actually read the posts that have been added since I started writing before I get to my post, so I doubt anything you see has anything to do with me.

Actually, you are factually incorrect. The App Dollars are in iOS. I don't have the exact stats but its like 80%

Market share dollars? What? You're mixing up news reports.

Perhaps the marketshare is lower, but the App Store have more revenue than the Android Market

This, I will agree with. Though the figures for that would be interesting to know as well.

Doesnt matter a whole lot now though, more people are on android than on any other platform. Even Steve Wozniak said Android would 'win' the mobile devices race.
