I just bought an Apple wired keyboard. Damn shame I didn't know this existed till now. I love the feel of the Apple wired keyboard as it is much easier to type on than the Apple wireless keyboard that my wife has. But it's past the return stage and don't want to start an Apple keyboard graveyard yet. :(

Unfortunately, there isn't any extended numeric keypad option or it would be perfect.

Otherwise, features of K811:
- Backlit (It even illuminates when your hand hovers over the keyboard... in the dark!)
- Bluetooth
- Instant switch between 3 devices
- MicroUSB rechargeable (last me months between charges)

Oh... erm... by the way, these normally goes for $80 to $100 (even more expensive at approximately US$130 in Singapore, where I'm from) so for the longest time, I've been using the cheaper K810 instead, the Windows brother to the Mac friendly K811...

... until my business trip to Colorado last month and I happened to chance upon a possible pricing mistake at a brick & mortar office equipment chain store.

3 Logitech K811s left on the shelf priced at $39.99 each.

I bought all 3.

Hoping for a Magic Trackpad with Force Touch. A big problem with with the Magic Trackpad is that it's very difficult to use it on non-flat surfaces - Force Touch solves this.

Same, it would be nice to be able to click easily on the top of the magic trackpad too, pretty sure force touch would make the clicks on the magic trackpad more consistent. I wonder if force touch would be a battery killer though on a wireless trackpad.

Just FYI, the title is very misleading. This is not for a BACKLIT keyboard (LED lights behind keys). This is for the F5 and F6 that serves as brightness up and down for backlit keys on MacBooks.

Why would you need key brightness keys for the MacBook keyboard if you're typing on a bluetooth keyboard? Those keys make no sense unless the bluetooth keys are themselves backlit.

Also, why bother the very busy CEO of a huge company with your ideas when they provide official feedback forms here? Use them.

That feedback webpage is a placebo. Nobody at Apple pays any attention to it.

Just for grins, scroll down to the "OS X Apps" section and click on "Calendar" (which actually links to www.apple.com/feedback/ical.html, though iCal was renamed to Calendar in 2012 for Mountain Lion)... The most recent version of iCal you can report a bug for is 4.0.4, going back to the days of Snow Leopard, five years ago.

I would totally buy a backlit wireless keyboard based upon the new macbook keyboard.

I was shocked how good it was. The keys are bigger and the key travel was fine. It is a great design.

I would love a black-keyed backlit wired keyboard from Apple. Not very optimistic about that though.

There was a extended??
Would love to have!. I hate the miniature obsession!

yeah the old white squarish plastic version was available with bluetooth. you can find them on ebay, but IMO, i found them to be somewhat flakey with their bluetooth. the model number for them was A1016.

Did that ever exist?

Agree though. I have to have the extended.

yeah, look up model A1016. it was the white plastic version.

K800. Typed this on one.

this. K800 was what I ended up settling on finally after many different keyboards. love the built-in rechargable battery, the illumination (different levels of it too) and the thickness are just spot on.

I've heard rumor that there could be keyboard with a Touch ID sensor on the side. Hope Apple will come out with this.

With a black key option

With a black key option

And charged via lightning port on the back so no batteries - can be cable if batteries low and also free to roam - could have Touch ID both sides then for lefties -

would also be nice if there were some magnets in the side of the keyboard and the side of the track pad so that they could snap together on either side of each other - would be even cooler if they could share power across the Touch ID rings or something so if one is charging it charges the one nearby
