Ah politics!

Always a good laugh.

Statistically the Republicans cannot get another POS in office. The demographics just do not favor them anymore. Choosing Trump ended the contest for sure.

No one is going to say it's over.... Why you ask? Because news outlets and media need the revenues from Presidential election years! Even macrumors is posting this clickbait!

The only way I can see Trump winning is maybe if Hillary killed a bunch of puppies and kittens with her bare hands during a national televised debate...

If Hillary did that, hello Green party!
(I kid, I kid. Hillary would get stopped by the Siri chip in her brain)

When it comes to Trump, it's no longer just a political disagreement. The man is at best an ignorant bafoon.
Trump is disruptive to the system. Jobs loved the guy. Cook on the other hand is just an establishment enforcer protecting vested interest. Ironic how the roles have changed.

Cannot wait to see President's Trump visit to the new Apple campus in a few years. He'll blow the Apple execs out of the water having more knowledge of their business than themselves. It'll be just like William Wallace speaking better Latin than Longshanks.

Looks like Tim needs a 'Safe Space'.

Again - this coming from a company that still relies on modern day slavery to manufacture it's products. Very noble Tim! I'm no Trump guy - but even I can see Wall Street, the big banks, big business, BOTH political parties, foreign leaders, foreign bankers, the media, and now Apple lol - are all against this guy. <----Makes me want to swim across gator infested water to vote for the guy.

You are out of your mind if you think Steve Jobs would have supported this piece of dog **** after all that he has said on the campaign

Trump is not a "disruptor". He is a demagogue. Exploiting people's fear and ignorance for his own personal gain.

More social conditioning from the liberal left wing political agenda.

Why don't any conservatives have any socially influential technology empires and entertainment monopolies?

I guess they want to turn off half the world to buying their products.

The attempt at social brainwashing doesnt fool me and it strikes me as unprofessional from a tech company. They have lost a lot of my respect due to inappropriate political agendas.

That's because technology requires studying facts & science. Modern conservatism is quite allergic to facts, which is why they have proven to be on the wrong side of history for the past 150 years.

Remember "death panels"? Remember when President Obama was going to confiscate everyone's guns, he didn't, got reelected, and still didn't? Remember when going to Iraq was such a great idea, and those darn Frenchies disagreed so we invented Freedom Fries, and it turned out they were right? Remember the War on Drugs & mass incarceration, fighting gay marriage (which the Supreme Court deemed discriminatory), fighting Civil Rights, fighting desegregation, fighting interracial marriage, fighting women's suffrage, Jim Crow, & slavery?

^How could you create forward-looking products with a backward mindset? Hell, how could you make advanced technology if you deny science?

Apple is on the right side of history, because inclusiveness and tolerance win out every time. Sometimes it takes awhile, but every time conservatives (not Republicans, but conservatives) have taken a stand and said the world would end if their strand of bigotry was chipped away, their children and grandchildren have apologized for their backwardness a generation later. Call it "brainwashing" all you want, but history and objective facts are stacked against you.

Well, Trump hates China, and Apple loves China, so...

Trump is one of those people that say one thing, cuz he knows what people like to hear but when it comes down to it he would have no idea how to actually do it or how things work. he gets support by people that hate their own life and blame other people for their own insecurity or dissatisfaction instead of looking in the mirror

Sounds like Brexit.

Damn Trump is always on point about everything. He's the closest we have to another genius like Steve.

Apple is on the right side of history because becoming the most valuable company in the world and making hundreds of billions of dollars win out every time. This was all under Steve Jobs, and he never involved Apple in politics like Tim Cook does.

Lol Tim needs more money to send bribes to China , so iPhone sales are not impacted .

On a serious note though , it's a bit hypocritical for TC to take crack shots at US politics while not a word about Chinese .....

He was chosen by about 44% of the GOP vote during the convention. Yeah, he has their popular vote. That's why he's the GOP candidate. But let's not make it sound like it's some massive populist uprising.
It certainly must have helped that there were so many candidates in the running as well. While everyone else was fighting tooth and nail for attention, Trump just had to pull out "idiotic quip #421" to keep his face plastered on the airwaves.

Many camps believe Jobs became a closet conservative after he was kicked out of Apple for his involvement with the Berkeley psych / Tim Leary community. Supposedly, the whole "Evangelist" job title was an attempt to displace organized religion with technology. After Apple kicked out Steve, Berkeley did not return his calls. He returned to his Buddist roots to start NeXT and later revive Apple.

After his return and second success, the fare weather Berkeley folk came calling again. However, he kicked them to the street. Was told one house cleaning act Steve did with Apple was he fired anyone with a Psych or related degree from Berkeley. Steve dies, liberals come calling again and the new king is more receptive. The back hall politics in Cupertino are fascinating.

Trump is more disruptive than anyone in Silicon Valley. He's hacking the entire Federal Government! When Trump is president, it'll be a bull in a china shop killing off Federal programs and prosecuting career con artists just like Steve returning to Apple.

So if I told you that everybody hated the idea of eating large quantities of broken glass, would you try it? Because there's got to be some reason they're trying to keep you from doing it, right?

Exactly. You want to complain about restricted freedom? Environmental destruction? Bigotry? Inequality? Complain about China first. People forget how different other countries can be.

"Tech companies backing the convention need to be "thinking hard about where they put their brand, and whether they want to align their brand with racism, hatred and misogyny," she told Politico"

Then companies should support neither candidate. I don't even like the idea of companies funding things like this in the first place.

Do you guys remember?

There was a time only a few years ago when people also wrongfully/ignorantly hated Apple as well (during the Android wars) and then they became super successful because of that "negative" publicity.

Its pretty much allegorical for the astronomical rise of Trump.

1. Ignorant/biased people hate on something great.
2. Other people hear about it and look into it for themselves.
3. They see the hate was baseless/illogical and have that "protect the underdog" feeling.
4. They choose to support that thing that was wrongfully hated out of spite for people in #1.

So #1 is the root of all evil in the world today. More and more people are starting to wake up and be self aware and realize that.
