The thing with Apple Maps.Which is probably the point of the comment. Just because some people don’t find certain applications useful (Apple Maps, etc.) doesn’t mean they are not.

Coming back to the OPs post.
Yes I can understand he moans about Grapher and Maps.
Grapher’s actually super useful, and maps is solid, in fact on my phone I’ve found it better at routing recently than google, including recognizing closed roads when google hasnt. Having it on the mac is a bonus that lets me sync things.I nearly fell off my chair.
I didn't know that Apple ships macOS 26 with "Grapher."
I think I must have used it in 1995 the last time.
And then the damp squib Maps.
Use Maps and you will loose the will to live.
Or let me ask: "Would anyone of you pay money for Grapher or Apple Maps?"
(A case could also be made for Pages and Keynote. Apple should team up with Microsoft and ship every OS with Word or Powerpoint. The last time when I used Word or Powerpoint on a Mac (although many years ago) it seemed to be well integrated.)
You can just drag them to the trash. You’ll save like 5 mb from chess, definitely useful for fitting one more mp3 onto your computer 🙄Least they could do is make them easily removable. Lord knows I don't need Chess or Image Playground but we're stuck with them.
Wrong analogy and the op is not wrong for suggesting that (I don’t agree with shipping Microsoft office though) because apple has and continues to parnter with other companies to integrate their software. From the very first iPhone apple partnered with google so that google maps would ship with iOS. Apple also partnered with Facebook in iOS 4 or 5 to integrate Facebook with iOS. This partnership continues to this day with google hosted Gemini powering Siri, so the op is not really off for suggesting thatAbsolutely not!
It's saying as if Apple should kill of Safari because you don't use it and Apple should ship their products with Microsoft Edge.
in that case, if you really want it gone:
sudo rm -rf /System/Applications/Image\ Playground.app…but will it magically re-appear when you update? Had this issue with Windows 10 back in the dayin that case, if you really want it gone:
sudo rm -rf /System/Applications/Image\ Playground.app
I have nothing bad to say about Disk Utility.
in that case, if you really want it gone:
sudo rm -rf /System/Applications/Image\ Playground.app
To sell you stuff. The thing with Apple Maps.

Did they change that? You definitely can not do that in Sonoma. You can just drag them to the trash. You’ll save like 5 mb from chess, definitely useful for fitting one more mp3 onto your computer 🙄
Apple maps almost every time I drive - it used to be the 'ad free' option. At least it's still the 'no tracking' option.I nearly fell off my chair.

I see no reason to ship macOS without Grapher, Maps or Pages… Microsoft sucks as a company and their subscription model is trash, Apple will never fork money to them for a service they already provide (or could get paid for in App Store fees). If Edge is better than Safari they could yes, ship macOS with it.
But Safari is a lot better integrated into macOS. I see no reason to ship macOS with Edge.
I use Edge at work but I think it is a rubbish browser.
I use Firefox on my work Linux account (the only browser we are allowed to use on Linux). But Firefox is dead in the water and has completely lost the plot.
Isn’t Grapher a thing in 2005? Mac OS X Tiger?I nearly fell off my chair.

Wow! I think this idea is just so short-sighted. There were still a lot of awesome 32-bit apps when Apple canned them. And forcing developers into their walled garden is just plain wrong. I want to buy those apps directly from the people who made 'em. Why give Apple a cut?!?I nearly fell off my chair.

Me. Why should I waste my money on a subscription to software I dislike using to replace free software that does what I need and enjoy using?okay seriously who uses pages over Microsoft word
I do.okay seriously who uses pages over Microsoft word
okay seriously who uses pages over Microsoft word
Me. I have both, but I only ever use Word against my will. I used Pages as a professional writer for over a decade, it’s a much more pleasant experience.okay seriously who uses pages over Microsoft word
