Amazing! I added my iPhone 16 Pro Max, Mac Book Pro M4 Max and Apple Watch Ultra II for $19.99...
Finally something worth being excited about!

Ya. This must be the end game with changes in February and now. Sure Apple likes a new $20 month revenue stream.
It's amazing... if I'm seeing this right... the upfront 2+ year AppleCare+ is now gone. (And that was a steal of a deal especially for the MacBooks).

The normal AppleCare+ is now gone, theft and loss is now required? for iPads, iPhones, and Watches - except for MacBooks where normal AppleCare+ still exists.

Now... that said I had annual AppleCare+ on all my devices and my wife's devices - so we're saving about $16/mo between the both of us, but I always did the upfront AppleCare+ then switched to annual.

Well that was super easy. Reminds me of Apple back when "it just works" fantasy that sometimes becomes reality! LOL... Wife and I are the perfect customers for this. We both have a Mac, iPhone and Watch. All 3 for each now covered. Simple steps on the phone and all done in minutes.

I'm not able to sign up. I'm in the US, but when I go to sign up on the web it says it's not available in my location.

I called AppleCare to ask why, and the first thing they wanted to do is screen sharing (Why is that always their first instinct? I was accurately reporting what the web-site said. I don't need them snooping on my computer.)

He said it's easiest to sign up through Settings on the iPhone or Mac anyway. But then it turned out you need either Sequioia or iOS 18 to do that (I tend to stay one version behind).

As soon as he heard that I wasn't on the latest OS, he claimed that's why it doesn't let me sign up on the web as well . . . hmm.

It doesn't make a lot of sense that your products need to be on the latest OS to sign up because some of the products that would have been sold in the last four years (Apple Watch Series 3) can't even update to the latest OS.

Yeah all the signup screens to deal with this are baked into the Settings App so I can see why the latest OS is needed. What's funny is, I couldn't get the Settings screen to show it till I went to https://apple.com/applecare and clicked on Get Coverage.

I will also try to schedule a call. If you found a solution, please let me know.
Just completed the call with support, everything seems to be okay. He checked all of the device serial numbers, eligibility and Apple ID.

He didn't have an answer for the email. I will find out at 5:30PM. o_O

I'm kind of confused on the pricing and wondering if I'm missing something. Currently have Applecare+ plans (billed yearly) on M2 MBA, M4 Mac mini, and a series 8 watch (phone is on iPhone upgrade program). Currently paying $80, $35, $40 per year for each of those, respectively. Comes out to $155/year. If I change to Applecare One, I'm paying $20/month, so $240 for the year. Is my logic correct? It would be $85 more a year?

Are you also paying for theft and loss?

If I’m not mistaken, that was previously only available for iPhone so, by default, no. But yeah I guess that’s included for all products in AppleCare One. So it would be an $85 increase for that coverage then 😕

I also did the math if I added my M2 iPad Air (which I paid the 2 years AC+ up front)… and that would bring the yearly cost of separate plans to $205/year. Compared to cost of AppleCare One would then be $26/month or $312/year. Which is an even larger $107 difference. Maybe my case is unique because I’m not covering an iPhone? Or because I’m doing annual instead of monthly so already saving compared to the monthly rate?

Correct - in this case, you won't benefit by having the AppleCare One plan - unless you value theft and loss on your watch a lot.

For me:

16’ MacBook Pro Annual: $149.99/year
13’ MacBook Air Annual: $69.99/year
15 Pro Max iPhone Annual: $139.99/year (Theft and Loss)

So that’s $359.97 a year or $29.9975 a month.

This AppleCare+ One plan is $20 - a $9.9975/mo savings or $119.97 a year.

I have my devices covered through Best Buy Total Tech coverage, which provides me with 2 years of AppleCare+ as long as my membership remains active. That, in addition to several other home gadgets and appliances, including my PS5 Pro, Switch 2 makes it worth the $179.99/yr price tag.
AppleCare One makes sense if you have multiple iPhones or MacBooks that you can bundle and save on, in addition to the theft and loss protection (which is nice).

Wow, okay so clearly my assortment of Apple devices is just one of those that makes it a bad deal for me. And I think not having my iPhone part of it further compounds that. Because that’s obviously a fantastic deal for you! Interesting

Upgraded to AppleCare One for my iPhone and Watch, with another Apple Account on which the previous Apple Care+ was purchased with. After upgraded to AppleCare One, signed in to my regular Apple Account, soon after received this message:

A new Apple Account has signed in to your iPhone 14 Pro Max. To avoid losing AppleCare One coverage, you must sign in to the iPhone 14 Pro Max with the Apple Account associated with your AppleCare One plan.

You have 24 hours from when this email was sent to sign in, or your iPhone 14 Pro Max will be removed from your AppleCare One plan.

This is an important change which they do not communicate clearly about. So be careful if you want to change the Apple Account on your device later.
I got this email but the weird thing is I did not sign in with another account. In fact the only other account I have is an old one I never use. So I hope nothing happens to kick my iPhone off of AC. I checked I am signed in and it still shows it's covered.

Such a great value if you’re adding the top 3 tiers of products. Just added my iPhone 14 Pro ($9.99), M2 iPad Pro, and M2 MacBook Air. My iPad’s coverage expired back in 2023 and they just added it with no additional checks. My 2 years for my Air was set to expire in September. Still cheaper to keep my Watch on a monthly ($3.99) and my AirPods on a yearly ($14.99) than to add them to this. I’m not getting loss or theft coverage on those, but that’s less of a concern to me. Although I did check the website and they now include it on the Watch, but my subscription page doesn’t have that in the description. I might have to call them about that to see if it really does or not.

Okay, now on my iPad it says my iPhone will be removed if I don't sign in by tomorrow. Should I sign out and sign back in? I can't try it right now because I need my phone and don't want to mess anything up. Has anyone tried this? Thanks!

Had the exact same issue last night. I spoke with support at Noon and they said everything looks fine and couldn't tell me why I received the email. I will know for sure at 5:30PM when my 24 hours is up.

It can't hurt to call support. Unfortunately the hold times are lengthy.

Good question. I noticed there were some serious changes to AppleCare+ offerings on new products yesterday. You can't get the upfront 2+ year AppleCare+ anymore.
Yes, not a lot has been discussed about this change. So as part of the AppleCare One roll-out, it appears:

- You can no longer buy the upfront 2yr (3yr for Macs) AC+ program - which was a better deal than 24 x monthly cost of going monthly. So for anyone who is on one of these pre-bought plans already (and you’d get a pro-rated refund if signing up for AC One), you are somewhat “giving up your discount” for rest of the 2yr period you otherwise would have had

- You can no longer buy AC+ monthly without Theft and Loss Coverage. On my iPhone 15PM, I currently pay AC+ monthly for $9.99 (w/out T&L). At the time, I could have got AC+ w/ T&L Coverage for $13.99, but chose not to. Today, if you buy a new phone, you can ONLY get the $13.99 AC+ w/ T&L Coverage

- Unclear, but I *think* if you move from monthly AC+ to AC One, you can’t go back. I visited an Apple Store in LA today, and asked this specific question. They weren’t sure, asked someone else, and this was their response. So it’s possible this gets clarified and turns out to be wrong. But if it is true, another consideration for people like me that get AC+ monthly, but often don’t keep them all in place forever (or even the full 2 years).

I got AC+ at purchase (on my iPhone 15PM, M4 iPad Pro and AW 10 Ti), with intention of keeping AC+ at least for a year. But after I’ve integrated into my daily routine, understand the risk factors more based on how I used it (ie. am I taking my iPad Pro with me on the road a lot? Or does it stay at home on my bedside table for use only in bed?), I may cancel. Additionally, I got AC+ on my M4 iPad Pro because it was new technology, first tandem OLED for Apple, etc. and wanted to have AC+ in case it ended up having issues (so far appears not to be the case fortunately)… But as I’ve had my M4 iPP for over a year now, I was thinking about dropping AC+ on my iPad Pro soon… but would want to keep it on my iPhone 15PM (as I use caseless, I always like having AC+ on my iPhone). If I move to AC One, I may not be able to cancel and go back to just having AC+ on my iPhone…

Again, probably intentional on Apple’s part, but another consideration for folks to think through before switching to AC One.

Is anyone else getting this error message when they try to add a device? When I click on one of my eligible devices on the first page if then goes to this page saying " Something Went Wrong" ... "We are unable to complete your request. Please try again later." Not sure what to do from here.
Yes I was getting that same message trying to get my M2 MBA enrolled. How I resolved the problem was to enroll another device that already had AppleCare+ (my iPhone 16 Pro). Once I enrolled it, I was able to successfully enroll my MBA. This is great because I missed getting AppleCare+ for the MBA by a week or two back when I bought it.

Welp. My iPhone 16 Pro Max was removed a few minutes ago.

I was able to add it back. Now I wait to see if it gets removed again.

As a follow up to my own post, I just tried signing out and signing back in and now the message is gone about my iPhone being removed from AC. So worth a try if you get that message. Even though I had not logged into a different account. Hopefully it sticks.
