I hope my 2011 iMac keeps going for another 12 months.
That and throw a small black Apple logo on that chin if you are going to have one. Those changes would have made this look a lot nicer.View attachment 1760684
I think it would have been more aesthetically pleasing if they didn’t do the two-tone colors. Just go with the same bold color all the way around. The most egregious example to me is the red, where it would be mistaken for pink from the front. That bold red would look great on the stand and chin. That and drop the white bezel and just do aluminum. White bezels always make the camera stand out too much.
Students should buy an air with the exact same specs for less. Honestly everyone should buy that who doesn't need 4k in an 'entry level' computer. (Yes, I am looking at ya'll who justified the Air not supporting multiple external displays and the 16gb limit as being 'entry level'.)I mean we forget the targetted audience here, students and kids. this will sell like no tomorrow.
There are Two Thunderbolt / USB 4 ports on the base model. USB-C not USB A.Don't forget no USB Ports or ethernet on the base model.. making it pointless for anyone who does file transfers from a NAS or even a usb stick. wow apple.. you really made USB ports a commodity
Thunderbolt/USB-C to Ethernet will solve it. Or perhaps even purchase one of the many inexpensive multiport adapters. And now I learn the power brick has no Ethernet port on the base model. Oh my God this machine 😂
Students obviously buy laptops and kids don't use desktop computers in this day and age. The truth is I have no clue who the target audience for these machines are. The niche of iMacs used to be stores and offices that want to make sure that everybody knows that they use shiny macs and old people.I mean we forget the targetted audience here, students and kids. this will sell like no tomorrow.
Did you even read the page? You can upgrade to 16GB RAM and up to a 2TB SSD.I don't get there reasoning. The MacMini and the MacBook Air have the option to install 16GB of ram, why not iMac? The iPad gets 2T of space and the iMac gets a tiny 256 or 500GB. Come on Apple. I can live with the smaller amount of space, but I can't with the ram. They will put the drive and the ram in the larger version when it comes out and charge double what they are charging for this thing.
Because an articulating arm makes it easy to throw the weight of the big panel around, remember there's some users who would have complained about it making t easy for them to break their delicate Mac screen which is encased in a lot of aluminium - not plastic.if you move all of the hardware to the base... the logic board, the speakers, etc. it would not have been top-heavy. The G4 wasn't either. It would have worked just fine. Also... how is not *currently* top heavy with everything already in the display itself?
as far as support, or just usage?I hope my 2011 iMac keeps going for another 12 months.
