I could believe a redesigned-again, smaller-still Magsafe 3, but no Magsafe? Hah!

Either way, if this thing has a retina display, I'm buying one.

At CES 2015 Dell released these super nice laptops with a thin bezel display.. I attached an image, I wonder If the new Macbook might be like this?

Maybe it's just me but I'm not really digging these edge to edge displays. I felt the same with that Sharp phone that had no bezel on the top or sides. Visually I need some kind of border.

If it's as light or lighter than the 11", I, for one, will be all over it.

People always gripe when Apple removes features (DVD drive anyone?) until they realize it wasn't a big deal after all. People associate losing features with losing functionality, even if they never or rarely need it. Hoarding is an innate human trait.

And for those who need ports, MBP's are already thin and light, so it makes perfect sense to further differentiate the Air from the Pros in both weight and features.

I'm not convinced that part is correct. I'd think the wide key would be escape and the power key would be at far right.

hmmm that would make more sense. I forgot this is a rendition based on rumors. I have been waiting for this lappy for months now :apple: I hope a few of these get tweaked and they are not just strategically leaking the low port #.

Speakers look like crap all separated on the top, I agree with others that it will be under the keyboard. Not sure why the artist would place the Power button on the opposite end of where it is now...people would hit that thinking it was escape all the time.

Not a fan of the single USB port, definitely needs to be a second as well as a thunderbolt port.

It's also easier to have just one model to pick from rather than two.

I disagree, as personally I have no need for any other "Pro" aspect than a retina screen of 13-14". I don't need a faster CPU, I don't need more ports, I don't want more weight, and I don't want to pay extra for the "pro" moniker... Which is why I'd prefer a 14" MBA retina over a 13" MBP.

The effing point of the MagSafe connector is to ensure a loose link, on top of being reversible and blindly pluggable with the magnets. Some people have to stop thinking because the new USB connector specs would allow to charge a laptop it would be a good idea as a replacement; it would be a regression.

If Dell can do near edge-to-edge displays, no reason why Apple can't.

I suspect that they have some type of solution that allows a USB device to be plugged into the power plug in a pass-through, in-line fashion.

My guess as well. I would suspect that the power "brick" may well have one or more "normal" USB-A connectors on it.

i DO NOT CARE if it is thinner!!!
i just want it to not be a space heater that get prematurely cooked due to inadequate cooling!

how many lawsuits does apple need to be put through before they get it?

Yup, this exactly. I think that with the move to a single 12" model and potentially an extreme lack of ports Apple is firmly stating there will be a dichotomy between their ultra-portables and the MBP's. The choice of Core M will further cement this decision.
